Moments later, Emma came back with Mandy who was holding a bowl of food in her hand.
"Ouuuuuu" Mandy joked as she gave obvious winks the moment she noticed Jayden in the living room.
"You didn't tell me he was around" Mandy said as she brushed her shoulder against Emma's as she teased slightly.
"Heyyyyyy" Jayden said to Mandy as he gave a slight smile
"Our crush..." Mandy voiced out as she gave a slight smile
"Can you stop it...???" Emma said almost angrily
"Chill... I'm just kidding" Mandy said as immediately, Jayden's phone started to ring
"A moment..." Jayden said as he let his pinky finger out. He was only telling them that he needed decorum.
"What do you want...???" Emma questioned lowly
"Came to borrow your microwave" Mandy said as she dropped her bowl of food in Emma's arm
"Can you do the honors???" Mandy said as she took her seat
Emma gave a deep sigh as she held the plate properly and walked to the kitchen.
"She's my best friend" Mandy said to Jayden the moment he came off the phone
"I know!" Jayden said to her
"What's going on between you two?" Mandy questioned, staring deep into Jayden's eyes.
"Don't tell me you want to kiss me," Jayden joked, as he lolled his head backwards.
"Funnyyyyyyy," Mandy said, almost sarcastically.
"We're just friends," Jayden said.
"Friends that know the way they taste," Mandy replied under her breath.
"How much time have you two had to discuss that?" Jayden questioned, almost in confusion.
"We're girls... there's always enough time to gossip," Mandy said with a calm smile.
"Please treat my friend right," Mandy started.
"Don't hurt her," she said again. "She loves you.... I mean, I don't know if she's obsessed with the real you or the famous you, but at least I know she's in love with you," Mandy said, and then ended with, "So please, make her feel important too."
"I'd take care of her, don't worry," Jayden said to Mandy, as he patted her shoulder.
"Your meal is ready," Emma said, as she rushed into the living room with Mandy's bowl in her hand. "You can have your food and get out," she said once more.
"I wasn't planning on staying either way," Mandy said, as she dragged her bowl and turned around.
"Play safe," she said to Jayden , as she ended with a wink and walked away.
"You're in love with me?" Jayden asked, but it was more of a rhetorical question.
"Isn't it obvious?" Emma asked back.
"What about me drew your attention?" Jayden asked, staring at her. "What exactly are you looking for?"
Emma searched through Jayden's eyes for a while and saw it - that insecurity.
"Wait, do you think I'm here to chase clout?" Emma questioned, but Jayden just looked away without answering. "You know the school I attend?" Emma asked Jayden. "Not to brag, but I'm an only child, and my parents would give me the whole world. I attend the best school in the whole state, and... you don't want to know how many young actors, musicians, or coming-of-age artists are in my school. If I were after all the fame, I'd be dating one of them by now," Emma told Jayden.
"You're kind... that's what I like about you. You're passionate, you're smart. You love kids, and I'd be down to have one of my own with you if you're down too," Emma said to him. "I've followed you right from the instant you hit fame, I told you the other day, and don't think I was fibbing," she said once more. "I know why I like you... why I love you, why I feel so attracted to you. So, cut me some slack. I'm no clout chaser," Emma ended.
"About the baby-making parts, Jayden said jokingly, "Do you want to show me your room?" Emma's tense face relaxed as she smiled.
"Come here..." he said to her, as he held her face and started to kiss her.
As they kissed, a million and one thoughts ran through his mind. She was in love, and breaking a heart was not something he was used to. So, it was either he backed off or started developing feelings. What was he going to do?
