"Alex… we have a problem."
I leaned back slowly, narrowing my eyes.
"Say it."
Milo exhaled hard.
"The man you hit. Silvio Bonpensiero. He's… hospitalized."
I felt the words slip into the room like cold smoke.
Expected.
But still irritating as hell.
"How bad?" I asked.
"Concussion. Broken nose. Fractured rib. A few stitches. He'll live."
My jaw ticked hard.
"Tch. Shame."
Milo kept going, talking faster now.
"And the Bonpensiero family is furious. Renata called the board this morning. She wants their entire stake withdrawn from the Cross Holdings."
My fingers drummed once against the arm of my chair.
"How much?"
"Ten percent."
A low curse slipped from my mouth.
Ten percent wasn't just money.
It was influence.
Position.
Balance.
Pull that much out all at once and the whole company shuddered.
Renata knew that.
She was making a point.
"What else?" I asked.
Milo swallowed.
