Chapter 164 - Chapter 164 Mio's Plan, The Birth of Spirits

Clutching the diary tightly, Mio obediently refrained from opening the remaining pages to peek at their contents.

After simply tidying herself up, she used her spiritual power to seal the house she had shared with Ryuya. She didn't want anyone disturbing their little nest while she was away.

Going downstairs, opening the door, she drove in the direction set by the navigation. Along the way, she saw countless sights: it seemed Ryuya had prepared this journey's scenery just for her.

Three months later, having driven this very car through over a dozen countries to reach Japan, even making the car fly when encountering particularly difficult terrain, Mio finally arrived at the world-famous Himalayas.

She opened the second page. It explicitly instructed her to climb to the highest peak, and required her to do so with a team of mountaineering adventurers, forbidding the use of special abilities to go directly up.

"So troublesome! Ryu is a dummy, a big dummy!"

Pouting, Mio began her ascent of the world's highest peak according to Ryuya's requirements.

After that, there were sceneries from all over the world: learning to paint, studying music and holding a concert, singing, making a movie, riding a bicycle through a mountain village, raising a pet she liked... Ryuya had truly left far too many things for Mio to experience one by one.

Gradually beginning to enjoy the world's beauty during this journey specially arranged by her beloved, Mio's heart, which had ached from losing Ryuya, slowly found relief. Yet, the more experiences she accumulated, the more she could feel the depth of Ryuya's care for her.

"Ryu, I understand. You want me to feel the beauty of humanity, to keep me from being lonely."

Sitting alone by a river in the depths of a mountain forest, Mio, who was fishing, looked at the diary, now more than half completed.

Pursing her lips slightly, she could feel Ryuya's love for her. But the more she felt this love, the more she found herself unable to forget Ryuya.

Narrowing her eyes, Mio continued, "Ryu, I met your four disciples. They are quite impressive, actually creating a company called DEM. They seem to be researching the birth of Spirits."

"I understand how I was born now. It was them who summoned me, right~?"

Saying this, Mio rubbed the head of the tiger beside her. She had truly followed Ryuya's instruction to raise a pet, though it wasn't a cat or dog, but a tigress… and a rare white tiger at that.

"Hey, hey, Shiro-chan, tell me, what would happen if I went and told Westcott and the others that I am Ryu's wife, and also the Spirit of Origin they've been searching for?"

"???"

Although much smarter than an ordinary tiger under Mio's care, the white tiger hadn't reached human-level intelligence and naturally couldn't answer Mio's question.

"Ah, you said interacting with them wouldn't be interesting? I think so too. But since they're trying so hard, I should probably give them something to do, right?"

Thinking for a moment, talking to herself, Mio clapped her hands and suddenly stood up.

"Got it! Although I won't bother them myself, I can create a few 'children' for them to find."

"Hmm, doing this counts as giving Ryu's disciples something to do, after all, they are his disciples."

"If they manage to do something I find interesting, then I'll give them these letters Ryu left."

In her hand were the letters Ryuya had written for Westcott and the others. Because Westcott and the others had deleted all their previous contact information and data related to Ryuya when forming DEM, Ryuya hadn't been able to find them.

So Ryuya wrote several letters and entrusted them all to Mio. Now, holding these letters, Mio suddenly felt she needed to find something to do for herself.

"Ryu, although the love you've given me is wonderful, the more I experience this world, the more I feel humans are boring creatures."

Experiencing the world's scenery, touching lives she never had before… logically, Mio should be experiencing the world's beauty, but she stubbornly believed that Ryuya was her one and only.

Under this premise, she acknowledged that the human landscapes were indeed magnificent, but to her, they held no real meaning.

The more she interacted with these things, the more she could appreciate Ryuya's love for her and his importance.

Having fallen into a certain obsession, Mio felt she might have become the kind of person she disliked, yet she quite enjoyed this extreme solitude.

Pondering how to make the world more interesting, she would still follow what Ryuya wrote in the diary, experiencing the things her beloved wanted her to. But she would also do some things she wanted to do now.

For no other reason than to make the world more interesting!

Therefore...

"Shiro-chan, tell me... since Ryu said there are things he cannot do, that means his power is insufficient."

"He's different from me. He is only the representative of Earth. The power of the Earth King is far inferior to mine. And if I want to give this power to him, I need to create some 'edible' tools."

"In that case, I've thought of a way to make him stronger."

Believing that Ryuya left her because his strength was insufficient, Mio's intellect instantly conceived countless plans. Among them, the most important was the creation of beings known as Spirits.

Reaching out to gently touch the lake's surface, her form turned into a phantom and vanished from the spot.

Moments later, she appeared before Yoshino in Japan.

["Little girl, do you desire to become stronger?"]

["Become stronger?"]

Still living in the hospital, the frail Yoshino shook her head, looking somewhat dazedly at the suddenly appearing phantom.

Then...

["Little nun, do you crave strength?"]

["Strength?"]

Her body already restored to health, and the hospital debts all handled by someone, although the young Yoshino didn't know who that person was, she clearly remembered the warmth emanating from them.

Puzzled by the phantom suddenly appearing before her, Yoshino shook her head, indicating she didn't need strength.

["You don't need it? But did you know, with power, you can find a certain person."]

Detecting the scent of Ryuya's magical power on Yoshino, though unsure what connection her husband had with this little girl, it didn't affect Mio's judgment.

["Find a certain person?"]

Her eyes lighting up, as if thinking of something, Yoshino expressed that she needed it, she absolutely needed this power!

Even though Ryuya was gone, and Shinji hadn't appeared, the plot, which was already altered beyond recognition, had derailed.

But!

No matter what, the world's progression wouldn't stop. Somehow, things returned to their original trajectory. The Spirit of Origin named Mio continued the original work's plot, beginning to sow the seeds of beings called Spirits.

Just as the saying goes, the wheels of history never cease… they only roll forward!
