(A/N: The setting for the Eternal Night Empire is not completely identical to Fate or Tsukihime's settings. After all, Tsukihime and Fate have many differences themselves. This is equivalent to a brand new, completely parallel world.)
Crimson Moon Brunestud.
As the physical manifestation of the Moon's consciousness, her existence is equivalent to the 'Gaia' of the Moon.
Once a witness to the Lunar Civilization, Crimson Moon personally watched that overly developed era completely vanish.
Resigned to the Moon's fate, she deeply understood that when a planet becomes a dead star, she, as the planetary consciousness, would also become useless.
Coming to Earth from the Moon, she met with Gaia and persuaded her to restrict humanity's development, lest Gaia eventually end up like her… a dead 'person'.
Heeding Crimson Moon's advice, Gaia used humans and Crimson Moon as blueprints, wanting to create an Earth King like the Moon King, Crimson Moon. But it failed.
What it created were True Ancestors, but those True Ancestors were clearly not excellent enough… at least, Crimson Moon considered them all failures.
However, this view ended completely today.
"Bloodriver. From today, your name is Bloodriver. I bestow upon you the name Brunestud."
Beautiful to the point of being dazzling, her existence was like a goddess. Of course, the 'god' here doesn't refer to those beings on the planet, but rather a description… a beauty unmatched in human eyes, beauty that reached the ultimate.
A dignified, elegant, noble, inviolable, unseeable figure picked up the newly born Ryuya and bestowed her surname upon him.
Brunestud. This was Crimson Moon's name, and also the highest honor among True Ancestors!
"King!"
Kneeling around Crimson Moon, the True Ancestors expressed their expectations towards the newly born Ryuya.
'King? Brunestud... This woman... is Crimson Moon!'
Crimson Moon, the Moon King, an Ultimate One-tier existence, undoubtedly the strongest person Ryuya had encountered.
Different from worlds like Camelot or Uruk, Crimson Moon was explicitly the King existing on the Moon. Her essence even surpassed Tiamat's.
Not expecting to encounter Crimson Moon right at the start of the Eternal Night Empire scenario, Ryuya felt a rare trace of nervousness.
"Oh, Bloodriver. You seem dissatisfied with your name?"
Seeing that the infant in her arms didn't seem to like her much, Crimson Moon's divinely beautiful face still showed no emotion.
She simply tightened her arms holding the infant slightly. Crimson Moon seemed to see the future in Ryuya.
[Under the care of Crimson Moon and the True Ancestors, you grew up in the Millennium Castle.]
[Possessing the mixed bloodlines of Sun God, Beast of the Apocalypse, King of Myriad Races, and Ultimate Being, combined with your True Ancestor's lineage, your growth was very slow. So slow that after decades, you only appeared as a teenager of fourteen or fifteen.]
[However, correspondingly, having fused the various bloodlines, you did not possess the True Ancestors' bloodsucking impulse. In fact, your blood could suppress the True Ancestors' innate bloodlust. With just one drop of your blood, a True Ancestor could last ten years without feeding and still maintain rationality.]
[With the help of your blood, the reborn True Ancestors no longer hibernated. They began researching the mysteries of magecraft, exploring the essence of life, and seeking to become stronger.]
[Quite satisfied with the intelligence you displayed, Crimson Moon only communicated with you normally, teaching you knowledge that transcended eras… the existence of the former Lunar Civilization, the previous epoch known as the Age of Machines.]
"Crimson Moon, because the prosperity of machinery became too flourishing, they gave birth to beings called Machine Gods. And the humans of the Lunar Civilization went to war with the gods they created themselves, right?"
Under an ornate chandelier, a soft carpet swayed gently with the breeze from the window.
Inside the luxuriously decorated room, Ryuya was drawing diagrams on paper… theoretical designs related to machinery that Crimson Moon had told him about.
"Yes, those gods forged by humans were very powerful. Even I would need some effort to destroy one."
"And the commands they gave the Machine Gods were also interesting: to make their nation prosperous, and peaceful."
Tasting the black tea in her cup, Crimson Moon originally didn't like drinking beverages, including water.
But influenced by Ryuya, the changing King of the Moon had picked up quite a few bad habits over the years.
For example, liking tea, wearing completely different new clothes every day, and having Ryuya give her massages, etc.
Gently placing her feet in the beautiful youth's lap, Crimson Moon was not someone who worked for free.
If Ryuya wanted information, he needed to give Crimson Moon a massage.
Thus, Ryuya was currently drawing diagrams while also massaging Crimson Moon's feet.
"So, how did they perish? According to your description, the Machine Gods' strength was probably far greater than the True Ancestors', right?"
The massage time for Crimson Moon was over. Ryuya let go and continued asking.
"They were very strong. Those humans created a total of seven Machine Gods. But the artificial intelligence of the Machine Gods concluded that humanity's existence would hinder peace, and humanity's prosperity would inevitably bring destruction. The two commands conflicted. Two Machine Gods self-destructed on the spot, killing millions."
Glancing lightly at Ryuya, seemingly quite dissatisfied with the man stopping, Crimson Moon didn't withdraw her feet, instead subtly pushing her delicate, fine feet further into Ryuya's lap. She sighed, "As for the remaining five Machine Gods, two decided to protect humanity, three decided to exterminate humanity. So the war began."
Looking expressionlessly at Ryuya, Crimson Moon stopped here.
"In the end, the two Machine Gods protecting humanity failed, and the civilization of the Moon was destroyed by its own hands, right?"
Having grown accustomed to Crimson Moon's self-willed and cold tone, Ryuya noticed that after he finished speaking, Crimson Moon's eyes seemed somewhat distant.
She was clearly thinking of something unpleasant, that sense of loneliness as if betrayed by something.
"Crimson Moon, do you think that we True Ancestors are the same as the Machine Gods back then, that we will also betray you, the Moon King, and ultimately destroy you?"
Looking at Crimson Moon, the settings about Crimson Moon from the Tsukihime World came to Ryuya's mind.
But ultimately, few people knew information about Crimson Moon, and almost no one had heard the true past of this Moon King.
Similarly unaware of Crimson Moon's past, but having discovered a completely different side of her in this simulation, Ryuya felt that perhaps Crimson Moon herself wasn't inherently cold-hearted.
'Maybe she had simply experienced too much, witnessed too much, and had completely abandoned hope?'
'Perhaps in the earliest days of the Lunar Civilization, Crimson Moon herself was a planetary consciousness full of love for humanity. Maybe the one she cared about back then was humanity itself.'
Seeming to understand Crimson Moon's pain, Ryuya shook his head, "The past does not necessarily dictate the future. But I believe that the True Ancestors here will only choose to be loyal to their master. And I... I want to stay close by your side at all times."
