Not just the students—even Iruka Umino couldn't help opening his mouth in shock.
As a Ninja Academy instructor, he had a fairly deep understanding of kekkei genkai.
Every kekkei genkai almost always represented a powerful ability.
The Gaara standing before him even carried the Uchiha surname, meaning he had the potential to become a ninja with dual kekkei genkai.
Even though the boy was still young, Iruka seemed to see a bright future stretching out before him.
After Gaara finished his introduction, Iruka looked around and saw that no one else was stepping onto the podium. He raised his voice and reminded them, "Next."
The next second, a gentle breeze swept through the classroom.
Everyone felt their vision blur, and a black-haired, black-eyed boy was already standing on the podium with his arms crossed.
"What's going on? How did he suddenly appear on the podium?"
"Yeah, there was clearly no one up there just now. Am I seeing things?"
"I-It's The Body Flicker Technique! This guy just used the Shunshin Technique!"
"Huh?! H-How is that possible…"
Seeing the shocked expressions around him, the boy on the podium curled his lips slightly, raised his thumb, and pointed at himself.
"My name is Sasuke Uchiha. 'Sasuke' as in arrogant, and 'Sasuke' as in bold."
"There aren't many things I like, but there are quite a lot that I hate."
"As for my dream…" He paused briefly. "Rather than calling it a dream, it's more like a huge ambition. That is to surpass that man and become the strongest ninja in the ninja world!"
At those words, everyone sucked in a sharp breath.
That was way too arrogant!
Even though Sasuke didn't say it outright, everyone knew exactly who the man he wanted to surpass was.
Uchiha Yuzuru!
Only by surpassing Uchiha Yuzuru could one become the strongest ninja in the ninja world.
"Is this guy not fully awake yet? He actually thinks he can be stronger than Lord Yuzuru?"
"He's so good-looking, but it turns out he's brain-dead."
"An arrogant brat. Does he really think Lord Yuzuru is someone he can even compare himself to?"
After more than a year of ideological education, Uchiha Yuzuru had long become an untouchable hero in the hearts of Konoha's ninjas.
That was especially true for children.
Everyone regarded Yuzuru as their idol, their greatest dream being to one day have the chance to serve under him.
Yet Sasuke actually claimed he would surpass Lord Yuzuru—his arrogance was completely over the top.
Seeing everyone's indignant expressions, Sasuke snorted lightly. "After class today, I'll be waiting on the training field. Anyone with the guts to challenge me—come on!"
With that, he didn't bother reacting to the crowd at all, shoved his hands into his pockets, and walked back to his seat.
A wry smile appeared on Iruka's face.
He had a vague feeling that the biggest troublemaker in this class had just shown up.
By the time he snapped back to his senses, a boy who looked lively and cheerful was already standing on the podium.
"Hi everyone, my name is Naruto, and I'm an Uchiha."
"Unlike that guy just now, there are lots of things I like, and almost nothing I hate. What I like most is playing together with my friends."
"If anyone gets bullied, just come find me. I'll help you stand up for justice!"
"As for my dream…" Naruto flashed a brilliantly sunny smile. "For now, let's set it as becoming the Big Boss of the Ninja Academy."
That single sentence caught Iruka completely off guard.
Aside from Gaara, the other two Uchiha brats looked like they were going to be real handfuls too.
Rubbing his temples in frustration, he stepped onto the podium and said, "Alright, next you'll all get to know each other a bit better. Tomorrow, we'll officially begin classes."

Kids arranging fights at the Ninja Academy was nothing unusual, so when Sasuke and the others arrived at the training field, they discovered it was already packed to the brim with people.
There were one-on-one duels, group brawls, and even spectators standing off to the side clapping and cheering…
Thinking about it, it made sense. After the academy reforms, many ninjas from Kumogakure had transferred to Konoha, and it was only natural that everyone needed to reestablish their standing.
Sasuke said excitedly, "Come on. Anyone who's unhappy with me—come at me together."
"Then you'll know that I have what it takes to realize my ambition!"
At those words, Inuzuka Kiba was the first who couldn't hold back.
He had always aimed to become Hokage, but Sasuke had stolen all the spotlight with just a few sentences.
If he could defeat Sasuke in front of so many people, he would definitely become a standout figure at the Ninja Academy.
With that thought, Kiba stepped forward. "Sasuke, be careful."
As soon as the words fell, Kiba charged straight at him.
But the very next second, he was sent flying back at an even faster speed.
Bang!
Kiba crashed heavily to the ground, the pain making him bare his teeth.
Sasuke stood where he was and said calmly, "Just a stray dog on the roadside."
Then he added, "Of course, I'm not talking about Akamaru."
Bastard!
Kiba's face flushed red as he clenched his fists in fury.
But the brief exchange had already made it clear—their strength was on completely different levels.
If he continued attacking, he would only be humiliating himself.
Just then, a warm hand extended toward him.
"You're called Kiba, right? You're very brave. In the future, you'll definitely become an outstanding ninja."
Kiba looked up and recognized the person in front of him as Naruto.
Seeing the sincerity in Naruto's eyes, Kiba nodded gratefully. "Naruto, thanks."
Naruto smiled and shook his head, pulling Kiba back to his feet.
Rock Lee stepped forward and said in a deep voice, "Sasuke, you're a genius ninja. I will defeat you to prove my declaration—"
"Through hard work, ordinary people can also defeat geniuses!"
Sasuke said nothing, merely curling his finger at Lee.
The next second, everyone saw Lee shout as he rushed forward, only to clutch his stomach and collapse to the ground.
"Too weak." Sasuke snorted lightly and said flatly, "If hard work were enough, then what would geniuses be for?"
"You think you're working hard, but how do you know that geniuses aren't working just as hard?"
At those words, Lee froze in place.
Naruto helped him up. "Lee, this guy's got a sharp tongue. Don't take what he says to heart."
"I know an uncle who was also publicly recognized as dead last when he was young. Even now, he only knows a few of the simplest ninjutsu."
"But Lord Yuzuru called him a hardworking genius, saying that when it comes to effort, no one has more talent than him."
"Later on, that uncle earned everyone's recognition through hard work and became an exceptionally outstanding ninja."
"Another day, I can introduce you to him."
Naruto's words caused the dejection in Lee's eyes to be replaced with renewed light, as though a door to a new world had been opened.
A hardworking genius…
So that kind of genius really existed in this world?
Thinking about it that way, he actually seemed to have a bit of talent in that area himself.
