Elder Isaac had just arrived home when the sound of an engine shattered the quiet of his compound. He had barely stepped on the porch when headlights flashed across the yard and a car roared into the driveway.
Isaac turned, stunned.
The vehicle stopped abruptly.
Ravok stepped out.
There was something in the Alpha's posture that immediately set Isaac on edge.
Ravok didn't say a word. He walked straight to the trunk of the car.
Opened it.
Then reached inside.
A moment later he dragged out a body.
Elder Benjamin.
Bound tightly, wrists tied behind his back, clothes dirtied and rumpled from the rough handling.
Ravok hauled him forward without ceremony and threw him down at Isaac's feet.
Benjamin hit the ground hard, groaning as he rolled onto his side.
Ravok looked down at the disgraced elder with cold contempt before lifting his gaze to Isaac.
"Alpha!" Isaac said in panic. "What is going on?"
The quiet of the compound had shattered in seconds.
