Before anyone could respond, Ravok was already moving. He crossed the room and headed toward the stairs without another word.
Everyone turned to Sera.
"I'll…I'll talk to him," she said quickly, rising to her feet. She paused before leaving and looked toward Elder Isaac. "I'm really… really sorry for your loss," she said softly. "He was a very good friend of mine. He was the first friend I made."
Isaac nodded slowly. His face remained composed, but the weight behind his eyes said enough. He knew his son.
And he knew the truth Sera didn't say.
Cyril had felt much more than friendship for her.
His feelings had mirrored the alpha's feelings for her in a quieter, more restrained way.
But Cyril had never crossed the line.
Now the boy who had carried that silent love was gone.
Isaac simply gave another small nod.
Words were unnecessary.
Sera offered a final glance around the room, murmured her goodnights, told Willie to get some rest and then she headed upstairs.
