But Jean shook her head. "Beta Cyril, I know he is not. I know he is on a mission."
That caught his attention.
Cyril's eyes sharpened slightly. "How do you know that?"
Jean hesitated for half a second before answering, a faint blush creeping across her cheeks. "I guess he didn't tell you. We are kind of a thing."
"Oooooh…." His lips curved into a grin. "…Willie. Nice."
The reaction was so casual it almost startled Jean.
Cyril chuckled to himself. He had every intention of giving the boy a congratulatory clap on the back when next he saw him.
Willie had somehow managed to land Elder Ben's granddaughter.

Cyril almost admired the kid for it.
"I'm worried, Beta Cyril."
"Why? I'm sure he is fine. If he were in trouble, he would have found a way to reach out."
Jean swallowed, fidgeting slightly. She avoided his gaze for a moment, taking a deep breath that trembled despite her best efforts.
