There was a collective groan at the word leave, followed by reluctant nods.
"Wait," one of the boys called out. "We don't know your name."
Eric paused. He turned slowly, the playful ease draining from his posture. He straightened, spine locking into place, presence expanding.
Eric smiled.
"My name is Eric," he said clearly. "Eric Blackwood. And I am your alpha."
Every jaw hit the floor.
Willie's mouth opened and stayed that way, eyes wide, pupils blown. Another boy whispered, "Holy shit."
"Willie," Eric added calmly, eyes flicking to the stunned teenager, "don't forget our deal."
Willie snapped to attention. "N-no, Alpha. I mean—yes, Alpha. I mean—" He flushed crimson as the others burst into laughter again, this time nervous, excited, proud.
"Goodnight, boys," Eric finished.
"Goodnight, Alpha!" they chorused.
Eric reached for Sera's hand, his fingers closing around hers, and walked her out of the arena as if it were the most natural thing in the world.
