The next morning, Celine woke up before everyone else. The air in the countryside was dewy, filled with the scent of damp wood and wet grass. She quietly left her room, still hearing her grandmother's words from the night before echoing in her ears: "No one knows where she came from... no one knows."
She decided to search her grandmother's house. Not out of curiosity, but as someone who feels that there is something the world doesn't want to be revealed. Yet, with her newfound determination, she decided she would not back down. She entered the room that used to be used as a storage space, where closed cabinets and stacked boxes were kept. The room was dimly lit, covered in years of dust, with sunlight filtering through the gaps between the wooden boards.
She began opening the drawers one by one, searching for anything that could hint at Lilia's origin. She knew what she was doing was dangerous, but her curiosity overcame her fear. Until she reached an old cabinet with a rusty lock, placed in the corner as if deliberately forgotten.
She tried to open it, but it was locked. She knelt down and examined the hinges closely. She noticed that one of the screws was a little loose. She grabbed a hairpin and used it as a tool, pushing it inside the old lock. After many attempts, the door opened with a soft sound, as if it was sighing after years of silence.
Inside, she found a small wooden box wrapped in a black cloth. She carefully took it out, sat on the floor, and opened it...
