Chapter 31 - Chapter 31. Attack of the draugr titan

When they walked through the school gate, Layla, who was already popular, immediately drew attention, but the male students—both human and draugr—were instantly captivated and stared without blinking when they saw Celes, Calista, and Charlotte walking behind Layla.

"Yo... who are those girls with Layla? New students, right? Damn, they are absolutely gorgeous," whispered a draugr male student.

"Yeah, man, seriously, they're in a whole different league. The one on the far left with the long black hair has a killer body, the one in the middle is skinny but tall and crazy beautiful, and the blonde one is super hot, with big tits," whispered the human male student next to him.

The murmurs and whispers started to spread. Everyone shifted aside to make way for Layla, Celes, Calista, and Charlotte. Meanwhile, Cole and Cyrus walked casually far behind them.

"They're popular, huh," Cyrus muttered.

"They certainly attract attention," Cole replied.

"Hello... what's your name?" a draugr female student asked Cyrus.

"Oh, hi... my name is Cyrus. What's yours?" Cyrus asked.

"I'm Hana. These are my friends, Michele and Vicky," Hana said, introducing the two human friends behind her.

"Nice to meet you all," Cyrus said, smiling and rubbing the back of his head.

"Where are you from?" Hana asked.

"Yeah, you're cute," Michele added.

"Haha... thanks. I'm from out of town," Cyrus said, shyly laughing.

Cole glanced at Cyrus, who was walking ahead and away from him while talking to the three girls who had greeted him. Then he shook his head and offered a faint smile. "Hah... turns out he's popular, too. That's good; hopefully, he'll be more motivated after this," Cole thought.

Cole walked on casually. Since he looked pretty average and wasn't flashy, no one bothered him. After entering the school building, they all went straight to the principal's office. The principal, who knew Layla, immediately asked a teacher named Paul to escort them to their class. They walked out of the principal's office, and once outside,

"I'm heading to my class now. See you later, Mom... uh... um... Char," Layla said.

"Yeah, we'll go home together. Bye," Charlotte replied.

"Okay, Uncle and Aunt... uh... Cole, Cyrus, Celes, and Calista, I'm going now," Layla said her goodbyes.

"Yeah," Cole replied.

"Okay, so your class is different, right?" Calista asked.

"It's different, Auntie... uh... Calista," Layla answered.

"Well, go on now, or you'll be late," Celes replied.

"That's right," Cyrus added.

"Okay, see you later, everyone. Bye," Layla replied.

Layla immediately turned and left. After that, they walked towards their class with Paul. But before they could enter the classroom, "teeeet...teeet...teeeet," the city alarm blared. "Dling," Cole looked at his wristwatch and saw a message from Calvin: a draugr attack was coming from the hole in the ice continent, and he asked everyone to return to headquarters.

"Let's go. Sorry, sir," Cole said.

"Let's go," Celes, Cyrus, Charlotte, and Calista replied in unison.

"Okay, be careful," Paul said.

"Thank you, sir," they all replied.

They ran out of the school building. A short while later, they were inside the Chimaera GZX and airborne with the city's air force. The entire city was in battle position and protected by a defensive dome.

"They're coming," Calvin said.

"Yeah, I can see them from a distance," Cole replied.

From afar, they saw a giant, half-mechanical, undead turtle flying in the air with what looked like a spaceship mounted on its shell. Its four legs appeared to be rear-facing rockets. Surrounding it flew a massive fleet of undead ancient birds with cockpits like fighter jets, and a huge, skinless giant whose bloody red muscle fibers were visible, with a half-skull, faceless head and three eyes, carrying an enormous sword, was being carried by a rope beneath the giant flying turtle.

"Wow... that's a lot. Looks like they're going all out," Cyrus muttered.

"Yeah, it seems they're really intent on wiping us out," Calista replied.

"Haaah... I was just about to enjoy school... and it's already like this, even though morning and night look the same... dark," Charlotte grumbled.

"Don't worry, you can go to school again tomorrow," Calvin countered.

"They're coming. Everyone, get ready," Cole said.

"Yeah!" everyone shouted.

The artillery started firing, as did the city's protective fighter jets. The Chimaera GZX raised its arms and began shooting ice spikes like a machine gun. "Krieeeek," the undead ancient bird forces began falling onto the mountains, but they kept advancing because their numbers were so vast. "Boom," the giant undead turtle dropped the three-eyed, skinless giant to the ground. "Blam...blam...blam," the three-eyed giant ran toward the city. "Blam," the Chimaera GZX landed in front of the city and prepared to meet the three-eyed giant.

"Graaaaaaah,"

The three-eyed giant charged to attack the Chimaera GZX when it saw the mecha land in front of it. It swung its huge sword. "Klang," the Chimaera GZX blocked it with its flame sword. The sword fight began with them exchanging attacks, blocks, and dodges. "Gaaah," the giant fired a beam from its third eye, and the Chimaera GZX countered by firing a beam from the eye on its chest. "Blaaar," the beams collided, causing a massive explosion. Then the Chimaera GZX raised its hand, and lightning struck its horn, then it lowered its hand toward the three-eyed giant, which was blocking the electrical blast with its sword.

"Ugh... that sword is a pain," Cole said.

"I'll stop its movement," Cyrus replied.

The Chimaera GZX's leaf cloak detached and immediately flew out to wrap around the three-eyed giant's sword, then large vines immediately wrapped around the giant's body. "Graaaaah," the bound three-eyed giant roared, unable to move. The Chimaera GZX lowered itself, and all the large ice spikes on its shoulders shot out towards the giant to finish it off. But, "kraaak," the seemingly incredibly strong three-eyed giant forcibly broke free from its bindings. "Riiip," its sword tore the leaf cloak, and "traaaaaang," it immediately deflected the ice spikes with its sword.

"Ugh... it got loose again... do something," Cyrus said.

"Alright, it only has one sword. Let's fight it with five swords," Calvin said.

"Gleeeng," four tentacles emerged from the back of the Chimaera GZX with long sword tips, added to the flame swords in both its hands.

"Charge!" Cole and the others yelled.

The Chimaera GZX immediately lunged forward, simultaneously attacking the three-eyed giant with five swords. "Graaaah," "trang...trang," the giant began to be overwhelmed because several slashes and stabs from the tentacles hit its body and injured it. The giant screamed while continuing to block and dodge, but it couldn't attack due to the relentless strikes from the Chimaera GZX from all directions. And finally, "jleb," all the tips of the tentacle swords pierced the giant's stomach.

"Now, Cole," Calvin yelled.

"Hiyaaaaaaaah,"

The Chimaera GZX ran and immediately, "sriiiing," sliced the giant's body in half as it passed by, then turned with all the tentacle swords pulled out, "sriiiing," the Chimaera GZX's sword once again swung, decapitating the three-eyed giant. But when they saw the cut body parts of the three-eyed giant, Cole and the others were shocked because a part of the giant's body was a robot or machine. "Blaar," the sparking body parts finally exploded right in front of the city, causing the city's shield to take a bit of the blast.

The Chimaera GZX turned and saw all the enemy forces retreating; it seemed their main threat was that three-eyed giant.

"We won, finally... that was a long fight," Calista said.

"Phew... we didn't get hurt this time, but Calista is right, it took us a while to beat it," Celes added.

"True, looks like we need practice," Cyrus said.

"Yeah, I'm developing a training tool using a special training simulator just for us," Calvin said.

"Sweet! Let's head back to the city," Cole said.

"If there's time for school," Charlotte countered.

"Nah, let's go tomorrow. School is pointless right now; we haven't even been introduced," Cole said.

"Cole's right," Calista replied.

"Hehe, awesome, I get to play games in my room until tomorrow," Cyrus replied.

"No, you don't," Cole, Calvin, Celes, Charlotte, and Calista yelled.

"Sigh... fine," Cyrus replied weakly.
