We stand with Bakugo and Choji, before they parted ways.
"Take that piece of shit away," Bakugo pointed at his greatsword lying on the ground. "It's a weight I can't carry if I want to catch the bastard mummy."
"Are you going to look for him? I don't think that's a good idea, you're too badly hurt..." Choji reasoned.
"I have to take care of him and his group before he comes back for Sasuke or any of you. Besides..." Bakugo said, his face serious, not revealing the other reason why he had to go after Dosu. "It doesn't matter. I'll see you at gate number 12."
Bakugo set off, leaving Choji there with his scrolls and Kubikiribōchō. As he chased Dosu, Bakugo realized that the pain in his shoulder had not only not diminished, but had actually worsened.
—In the end, the bastard mummy is going to be right when he said he was doing me a favor when he was about to kill me. —Bakugo thought, trying to focus on his goal instead of the pain. —The pain is only mental... There is no pain... —psychology didn't work to calm the pain— There is no pain... —it still didn't work. —THERE IS NO PAIN... —he bit his lip. —FUCKING HURTS, MY FUCKING SHOULDER HURTS, I SHIT ON EVERYTHING SHITTABLE!—
Dosu had a lead of over a minute. But luckily for the ash-blond, for every five meters of pursuit, Bakugo closed the gap by one. This was because even though Bakugo was completely messed up, Dosu was carrying the unconscious bodies of Zaku and Kin. Plus, not having to carry Kubikiribōchō made him much more agile.
"I'll catch up with that fucking bastard mummy soon," Bakugo thought, with a sick smile.
100 minutes after the start of the chase, Bakugo was already able to see Dosu on the horizon.
"Finally," Bakugo thought, relieved to see that he wasn't far from reaching him.
"MUMMY BASTARD!" Bakugo shouted at the top of his lungs. Dosu turned around for a moment and frowned, pissed off.
"Just die!" Without stopping moving, Dosu threw explosive kunai at Bakugo. The ash-blond didn't even dodge them and walked through the fire that formed the explosion.
—STOP THE FUCKING THING IF YOU DON'T WANT YOUR FACE TO EXPLODE!—Bakugo shouted, enraged by the small burns he got from pushing his way through the fire.
Dosu ignored him and continued his escape, hoping the wounded ash-blond would tire before he did. It was clear he didn't fully understand Bakugo's willpower.
After a few minutes, Dosu was starting to tire of running and carrying his companions. So he stopped abruptly on a tree branch. Then, he pulled down the unconscious bodies of Zaku and Kin and glanced at Bakugo, who was torn between hatred and astonishment.
"You don't know when to give up, do you?" Dosu said, showing his artificial arm with holes and looking out for anyone else there.
—Mmmm. —Bakugo massaged his shoulder looking for a little relief while he thought of a plan of action.
"Ha," Dosu laughed maliciously. "And you don't even have any reinforcements. Even if I can't damage your inner ear, you're in such a sorry state that I'll finish you off in a second."
"You took the words right out of my mouth, mummy," Bakugo said with a euphoric smile at the impending battle. But that smile was wiped from his face when he saw the head of a colossal-sized snake (even bigger than the one he killed when he separated from Sasuke and Sakura) slithering behind the tree where the sound trio were perched. "Hey! If I were you, I'd turn around," he warned, pointing at the enormous beast with his finger.
"Of course, now I'll turn around so you can attack me from behind," Dosu said ironically. "Do you think I was born yesterday, brat? Do you think I'm stupid enough to fall into such an obvious trap?"
Bakugo was petrified for a moment because he didn't expect her to disbelieve him, but then he came to, his face red with anger.
—YOU RETARD! JUST LISTEN TO ME IF YOU DON'T WANT A BEAST TO DEVOUR YOU AND YOUR FOOLS OF TEAMMATES!—Bakugo shouted, losing his patience and jumping forward with the intention of saving his enemies. But it was going to be very difficult because he was very far away.
Once again, Dosu didn't believe him and braced himself for what he thought was the blond's attack. His senses heightened, and he noticed a hissing sound coming from behind him. It was then that he realized Bakugo was telling the truth, but he realized it too late. He could only turn around and widen his eyes, unable to stop the great beast from swallowing the trio of sound and the branch that held them.
—Shit.—Bakugo muttered.
He continued to approach the position where the soundmen had been a moment ago, but he didn't know how he was going to save them now, considering he didn't have his greatsword to cut the snake open. The beast's voracious appetite resolved his conflict, as it opened its mouth again to devour the ash-blond and he could see that it still had the ninjas in its throat without having fully descended into its stomach.
Bakugo dove right into the snake's mouth and grabbed one of the ninjas' feet. Before the snake could close its mouth, Bakugo yanked that foot hard and pulled the body out.
The snake closed its mouth with Bakugo and two sound genin still inside. The ash-blond man dug himself in even deeper to get the other two out. As he attempted this feat, he had an image he'd never forget. Zaku and Kin's faces, almost cadaverous, with less than 10% of the skin and muscle they should have. The acid inside the reptile had disfigured them.
Bakugo held back the urge to vomit and instantly realized there was nothing he could do for them. Immediately afterward, he launched an explosion from the beast's interior thanks to the recoil caused by the blast. This unorthodox exit caused his healthy arm (the left one) to suffer a large cut caused by one of the reptile's fangs.
The enormous snake moaned in pain and glared at the inconvenience that had caused it. Bakugo wasn't intimidated, and glared at it fiercely. Despite its large size, the reptile thought better of it and left with Kin and Zaku's corpses dissolving inside it.
—Uffff. —Bakugo sighed in relief, he didn't feel strong enough to face that beast.
Then he focused on Dosu, who was lying awake on the ground. He seemed whole except for the small detail: half of his stomach was missing and he was about to bleed to death.
