"They better not have died. The only one who can kill my useless teammates is me," Bakugo thought, worried.
When he reached the bridge, Kakashi and Zabuza were standing face to face. Tazuna was standing behind Kakashi. But the strangest thing was the floating ice mirrors surrounding Sasuke and Sakura. Bakugo stood next to his sensei.
—Bakugo! What are you doing here? You should be protecting Inari and his mother! —said Kakashi
"I've already taught those extras a lesson." From his position, he could see in the distance how Sasuke had numerous needles in his body. And he was only staying upright by leaning on Sakura. "What the hell is going on, one-eyed?" Bakugo asked angrily, seeing his classmates having a bad time.
"The fake hunter-nin has trapped them with his kekkei genkai," Kakashi said helplessly. "And I can't do anything because otherwise, I'd leave Tazuna at Zabuza's mercy."
—Well, you've finally deigned to appear, explosive boy. I'm going to kill three birds with one stone. Kill the famous copy ninja, fulfill the mission of killing the old man, and avenge the humiliation suffered by killing you, —said Zabuza.
"I'm not in the mood for your jokes, you eyebrow-less bastard," Bakugo retorted, his mind racing to come up with a plan to fix this. "Kakashi..." Bakugo said his sensei's name for the first time. He noticed this as well and gave him his full attention.
"That's the first time he's used my name. He's so focused and serious that he doesn't even try to use any of his nicknames," Kakashi thought.
—I don't know who's stronger, the bastard with no eyebrows or the bastard with the mask. But...—he stared at Kakashi—, it's hard for me to recognize him, but the bastard with no eyebrows and his mist is a problem for me. I'm going to save Sakura and Sasuke. I know I'm putting you and Tazuna at risk, but I have to save you. —said Bakugo, putting all his attention on those mysterious mirrors.
"Don't worry about me, go save your friends," Tazuna said.
He saw the image of the masked boy reflected in the mirrors, about to throw his needles at the genin pair. No further encouragement was needed to shoot off like a missile toward that strange fortress of mirrors.
"Wait, Bakugo! If you go in there...!" Kakashi tried to stop him. But it was too late, Bakugo was already inside, detonating the rods that flew towards Sakura.
"Another idiot who falls into Haku's trap," Zabuza said with a smile under his mask.
Inside the mirror fortress, Bakugo looked around at his opponent's reflection. Then he looked at Sasuke, who was bleeding from his mouth and had Kakashi and Itachi's sharingan in both eyes. But this one, unlike the others, only had two blades surrounding his pupil.
"Bakugo!" Sakura exclaimed, helping Sasuke up.
"Idiot... you'll only get me killed." Sasuke said, spitting out blood.
"Sasuke-kun! Don't push it anymore!" Sakura cried, on the verge of tears.
"You're the kid who used that powerful blast to free Kakashi from Zabuza's prison," Haku commented. "You would have had a better chance from the outside. You won't be able to do anything in here with those blasts."
"First of all, shut the fuck up, you masked bastard," Bakugo said menacingly. "Second, you'll have to explain to me how you got those eyes, Sasuke. But that later. There are more pressing matters right now, like getting out of here," Bakugo said, looking in every direction for an opening.
"It's useless, Bakugo. Sasuke tried to melt the mirrors with his massive fireball, but he didn't even scratch them," Sakura said, still hugging Sasuke. "I don't know what those mirrors are made of, but they're not just ice."
—You heard your partner, explosive boy. This is my Hijutsu technique: Makyō Hyōshō (Devilish Ice Mirror) . It's a jutsu that only I can perform thanks to my kekkei genkai. —Haku explained.
"I told you to shut the fuck up, you masked bastard!" Bakugo yelled. After a few seconds, Bakugo came up with a plan. "Sakura, I want you to grab Sasuke and hold on to me tightly."
"Okay," Sakura nodded and obeyed without question, just as Kakashi realized he had used her name instead of a nickname.
I hope she's not one of those who gets motion sickness, I wouldn't be too happy if she threw up on me, Bakugo thought.
—Hold on and don't let go, Sakura!—Bakugo ordered.
"What are you planning to do, explosive boy?" Haku wondered.
It began to spin around like a top, gaining speed with its mini explosions.
—EXPLOSIVE MISSILE! —Bakugo shouted.
When he had enough speed, he changed the position of his hands, putting his hands upside down and going upwards like a missile (it looks like Kiba's fang on fang, but Bakugo's technique also has the explosive factor) breaking the most vertical mirror.
"I won't let you get away!" Haku said, creating another mirror on top of the one he had destroyed.
Bakugo's technique no longer contained enough force to break that second mirror. Fortunately, Bakugo quickly realized this and with a swift movement, he threw Sakura, who was holding Sasuke with all her strength.
—SAKURA! PROTECT TAZUNA AND SASUKE! I TRUST YOU! I'LL TAKE CARE OF THIS BASTARD!—Bakugo shouted to Sakura who was flying, but already outside the mirror fortress.
—Damn... —Haku kicked Bakugo hard in the face, causing him to hit the ground violently. —No one has ever escaped my technique before, and now you've made both of my prey escape. —
Bakugo's face was completely stained with blood from all the red liquid that was falling from his hair, due to the gap caused by using his head as the tip of his explosive missile.
"I'm losing a lot of blood. I have to end this quickly before I lose consciousness," Bakugo thought, his headache pounding.
—DIE! DIE! DIE! DIE! DIE! DIE! DIE! DIE! DIE! DIE! DIE! DIE! DIE! DIE! DIE! DIE!—almost infinite explosions of great force, since he didn't have to control his strength because he couldn't hurt his allies, came out of Bakugo's palms in all directions. —DIE! DIE! DIE! DIE! DIE! DIE! DIE! DIE! DIE! DIE! DIE! DIE! DIE! DIE! DIE!—
By the time he finished his attack, the entire interior of the mirror fortress was covered in smoke. Bakugo was panting from the exertion.
"You're going to need something stronger to destroy my ice mirrors!" Dozens of rods shot out at Bakugo.
—Shit... —Bakugo cursed
Bakugo couldn't see them through the smoke, but he heard the wind whistling and assumed he'd thrown the same weapons he'd seen on Sasuke's body. So he did the most sensible thing: curl up into a ball to protect his vital points.
His back, arms, legs, and stomach were filled with those rods. He looked like a porcupine. Bakugo lay there, motionless, looking like he'd died.
"It's possible I overdid it," Haku said, stepping out of his mirrors and walking over to Bakugo's body. "I lost control after letting the other two kids go. Are you dead, Explosive Boy?" she asked, placing her index finger on Bakugo's neck to check if he still had a pulse.
He barely had a pulse, but he had one. Haku sighed in relief, but was alarmed to notice his pulse was rapidly increasing.
"How...?" Haku said. Bakugo, who suddenly opened his eyes, kicked him with much of his remaining chakra, concentrating on his stomach.
"You should never be too confident, you masked bastard!" Bakugo exclaimed, barely getting up.
The kick was so strong that it made Haku lose concentration, undoing his mirror jutsu.
"It's impossible. How can you keep moving?" Haku wondered, but his surprise was even greater when he didn't see the ash-blond. "Where...?" A massive punch to his face, so strong it broke his mask and knocked him unconscious.
—Haaa, haaa, haaa. —Bakugo gasped, almost losing consciousness.
—Fuck, I have to thank the one-eyed guy for that shitty no-hands climbing. It made me a lot faster when applying chakra to my feet. It's something similar to what that useless Deku used in our last fight.—Bakugo thought, then he noticed Haku whose face was unconscious when his mask was destroyed. —He made me sweat to beat him and he must be 13 at most... —Later he looked where the rest should be, but the dense fog prevented him from seeing anything. —Where the fuck is everyone?—
Suddenly, the fog thinned enough for the blond to make out figures not far away. Bakugo could see his teammate Sakura, who was on her knees holding an unconscious Sasuke. He also spotted Tazuna, who was standing behind the genin pair. And last but not least, Zabuza was standing with eight large dogs, one of them even larger than the mist shinobi, sinking their fangs into him.
"Heh," Bakugo thought with a smug smile. "The one-eyed guy has beaten the eyebrowless bastard again." He watched as his sensei quickly made a series of seals.
"RAIKIRI!" he heard his master shout. An intense blue energy formed in his right hand.
"Has he gone crazy?" Bakugo thought, annoyed.
He tried to focus chakra on his feet, but it was too much for his current state. So he used his Quirk to run as fast as possible. Just as Kakashi's arm was about to pierce Zabuza's heart, Bakugo deflected it at the last moment, causing it to only pierce through the mist shinobi's shoulder.
"Bakugo!" Kakashi said, his eyes wide open.
—Impossible..., this brat has defeated Haku?—said Zabuza in disbelief.
"Haa, haaa, haaa," Bakugo gasped, grabbing onto Kakashi's vest to keep from falling. "That boy-girl is dreaming of angels right now."
"How are you alive?" Kakashi asked, seeing Bakugo, who was riddled with needles all over his body.
"Haa, haaaa, haaaa," Bakugo continued panting for breath. "I'd like to think I'm invincible, but I don't think that boy-girl was trying to kill me. Now I'm the one who has questions for you, one-eyed."
"That can wait. I have to kill Zabuza before he recovers," Kakashi said, glaring at Zabuza with his sharingan and removing his hand from the mist shinobi's shoulder.
"Haa, haaa, haaaa," Bakugo panted. "That's exactly what I wanted to talk to you about, one-eyed. Have you gone crazy?"
"Huh?" Kakashi said without understanding.
"Hahaha. Have you taught your students to be pacifists, Kakashi?" Zabuza asked. Despite his delicate situation, he found the scene very amusing.
"Haa, haa, haaa," Bakugo panted, exhausted. "Shut up or I'll blow up your ugly, eyebrowless face." He then looked at Kakashi. "We've already defeated him, let him."
—What's this about, Bakugo? You're the first one to say DIE every time you attack! —Kakashi said, surprised.
"Anything goes in combat, but the one with no eyebrows has already lost. It would be an execution," Bakugo explained.
"If we leave him alive, he'll come back for us," Kakashi replied, annoyed by the ash-blond's attitude.
"Well, let him come back, we'll kick his dirty ass again," Bakugo said, cracking his knuckles.
—The world isn't like that, Bakugo. We ninjas go on all kinds of missions. Even killing ones. —Kakashi tried to reason with the blond.
"That may be, but our mission isn't to kill the eyebrowless one. Our mission is to protect the drunk," Bakugo said, pointing at Tazuna.
"Just finish me off, Kakashi! I'm sick of listening to this brat's nonsense!" Zabuza exclaimed.
"I told you to shut up!" Bakugo jumped slightly and hit Zabuza's chin with his bloody forehead. The jump and the impact caused him to stagger off balance. "Shit, I shouldn't have done that."
It was the final straw for his efforts, and the blood loss caused him to lose consciousness. When he opened his eyes, he was in bed at Tazuna's house, without any needles and with a bandage on his head. Luckily for him, his arms barely hurt this time.
"Tsk," Bakugo muttered. "I'm unconscious more often than I am conscious. What happened to the eyebrowless bastard?"
There was no one in the room, so he decided to go to the kitchen to see if anyone was home. There he found Tsunami cooking.
"Hey," the ash-blond boy called Tsunami's attention.
"Bakugo!" Tsunami stopped cooking and hugged the ash-blond boy tightly. He made a face of circumstance.
"What's this about, old lady?" Bakugo said, uncomfortable with the physical contact and wanting to get out of the situation.
"I'm just really glad you're awake," Tsunami replied, separating from Bakugo.
—Hmm, well, there's no need to get so excited. Changing the subject, I'm starving. Is there anything I can eat, old lady?—Bakugo asked.
—Where's my head? I should have offered you something to eat. No wonder you're hungry. You've been sleeping for almost two and a half days. —Tsunami explained.
"WHAAAAT?" Bakugo yelled, incredulous. "I've been sleeping for more than two fucking days? Fuck, I'm like Sleeping Beauty..." He whispered the last bit, but Tsunami could still hear it.
"Sleeping Beauty?" Tsunami asked, unfamiliar with the folk tale from Bakugo's original world.
"Forget it," he replied. "Where are the rest of the extras?" Bakugo asked, sitting down in a chair. Despite having slept for more than a few days, or precisely because of it, he felt terribly tired.
"Inari and your friends are helping my father with the bridge," Tsunami replied. "Hold this while I make you something spicy." She handed Bakugo a bowl of rice.
"Make it really spicy!" Bakugo said, salivating with hunger.
"You can order anything you want today," Tsunami said with a smile. "It's the least I can do for one of our city's heroes."
"Hero?" she said, her mouth full of rice, then the image of Zabuza came to mind. "Shit, hunger made me forget about the eyebrowless bastard and the child-girl! Do you know what happened to them, old woman?"
"The others will tell you when they get back. I'm just letting you know that they've left you a surprise," Tsunami said.
"Tsk," Bakugo muttered angrily, finishing off the last of his rice. "I don't like surprises."
His anger quickly passed when he smelled the spicy-sauce-laced meat Tsunami was preparing for him. Bakugo would have won any speed-eating contest at that moment. He finished the meal in less than five minutes, enough to feed a large family.
Not even half an hour passed when Sasuke, Sakura, Kakashi, Tazuna and Inari returned.
"I'm exhausted from moving steel beams..." Sakura complained, not noticing that Bakugo was awake.
—Hahaha. You guys look so good! —Bakugo laughed when he saw his classmates wearing construction vests and helmets.
"BAKUGO!" Sakura cried, tears in her eyes, immediately hugging the ash-blond boy tightly. She wasn't the only one who hugged him; Inari and Tazuna followed suit.
"TODAY IS THE FUCKING HUG WORLD CUP CUP AND I DIDN'T KNOW?" Bakugo yelled, his eye twitching at how uncomfortable he felt. Then he roughly pushed them away. "Get away from me, you bunch of extras!"
