The next morning, Kael and his companions stayed another day on Demon Island to recover their completely drained magic. While they rested, the village chief led the others around the island for a proper tour — a rare moment of peace after all they had endured.
As night fell, everyone gathered in the open square at the center of the village. They looked up together at the strange violet moon hanging in the sky. Earlier that evening, Kael had made a bold claim — that he could destroy the moon effortlessly.
The statement had stunned everyone into silence. None of them had believed it possible. Only Natsu had reacted with unrestrained excitement, hopping around Kael like a hyperactive child eager to help. Gray, standing nearby, covered his face in embarrassment, pretending not to know Natsu at all — though Ur couldn't help laughing softly at the sight.
"Alright then," Kael said, standing tall at the front, his golden eyes fixed on the purple moon. "Let's destroy the moon — and return the villagers to their true forms."
A collective gasp spread through the villagers. Then cheers erupted.
"Finally! We'll be human again!" the village chief cried, clasping his hands together as the others shouted in joy and encouragement.
Lucy, however, remained doubtful. "Can he really do that? Destroy the moon?" she murmured, frowning. Kael was undeniably powerful — monstrously so — but this was the moon.
"I believe in Kael!" Happy said brightly, appearing suddenly on Lucy's shoulder with his usual unwavering confidence.
"Kael!" Natsu called out. "Let's go to the temple! It's higher up — better view for breaking the moon!"
Kael shook his head calmly. "No need. Here is fine."
As he spoke, a blade of radiant light formed in his hand — a sword made entirely of energy. He raised it toward the heavens, its glow casting silver reflections across the village square.
"He's… using a sword?" Gray muttered in disbelief. "Wait — don't tell me he's actually planning to cut the moon in half! Even for him, that's—"
"Whoa! Awesome! You're gonna slice the moon, Kael?!" Natsu shouted, eyes shining. "This is gonna be amazing!"
"Natsu, step back," Kael warned. "You'll get hurt if you're too close."
As he spoke, magic power began surging from his body like a tidal wave. Dust on the ground lifted in ripples that expanded outward. The light sword blazed with celestial brilliance.
Then — with one fluid motion — Kael swung.
A crescent-shaped beam of light soared skyward, faster than sound, piercing through the night until it struck the purple moon.
The villagers and Fairy Tail mages all watched in stunned silence as the slash connected.
A sharp crack echoed across the heavens.
The moon split in two.
"No way—!" Lucy gasped, eyes wide.
"Impossible!" Gray shouted, frozen.
Even Ultear and Ur stood speechless.
The fractures widened, breaking apart into glittering shards of violet light — and behind them, another full, untouched moon shone pure and silver.
"The real moon?" Lucy whispered.
Kael lowered his sword and explained calmly, "This island has long been shrouded by a barrier of corrupted ether — a miasma born from the residue of the Moon Drip ritual. It distorted the sky, making the moon appear purple. What I destroyed was the layer of corruption surrounding it."
The villagers, who had begun to glow faintly, looked down at themselves in hope — only to see they still bore their demonic forms. Confusion swept through the crowd.
"Why… why aren't we changing back?"
Kael walked over to one of the older demons, meeting his eyes kindly. "You already have. This —" he gestured to the man's hands "— this is your true form. You were never cursed into demons. You were always beings who could take human shape. The barrier only clouded your memories."
The elder scratched his head, looking thoughtful. "Now that you mention it… it does feel like I remember something like that."
Before anyone could say more, a voice called from above.
"Dad! Everyone! Are you okay?!"
They looked up to see a demon man with a bandaged head flying down from the clouds.
"Bobo?" the village chief whispered in disbelief, tears welling in his eyes. His son — the one he thought long dead — was alive. "Bobo!"
Wings burst from the chief's back as he soared up to embrace his son.
"Dad! You're back to normal!" Bobo laughed, hugging him tightly.
Cheers erupted through the village.
"Let's celebrate! A feast — a Demon Festival!" someone shouted.
"Yeah! Let's party!" the others answered, their joy echoing through the night.
───────────────
After a night of celebration, morning came — time to say goodbye.
Under the warm farewells of the islanders, Kael activated his teleportation array, sending the group back to Magnolia Town.
"If you're not sure where to go," Kael said, glancing at Ur with a smile, "you could always join Fairy Tail."
Gray looked up hopefully. Lyon, on the other hand, hesitated, silently wishing Ur would come with him instead — but he would never argue against her choice.
Ur thought for a moment, then looked at Ultear beside her. The girl's expression was… complicated.
"What's wrong, Ultear?" Ur asked gently.
Kael already understood, but now wasn't the time to speak of it. "Let's talk about it back at the guild," he suggested.
"Alright," Ur agreed softly.
Back at Fairy Tail, Kael noticed that Laxus and Mirajane had already returned. Mirajane and Erza were in the middle of another good-natured argument about who had completed their S-Class mission better. Lisanna was mediating between them, keeping the tension under control.
Laxus, meanwhile, was sprawled lazily across the second-floor couch — until he noticed Kael walk in. He tilted his head up and greeted him with a lazy grin. "Yo."
"Hey, Laxus. The master around?" Kael asked.
"The old man's at a meeting. Should be back soon," Laxus replied.
Before Kael could respond, Natsu's voice echoed across the hall. "Laxus! You're back! Fight me!"
Laxus chuckled. "Still so full of yourself, huh? Why don't you come up here?"
Natsu fumed but didn't move. Kael sighed. "Alright, enough. Natsu, you did great this time. Let's split the reward first — and Laxus, stop teasing him."
The mission had been a success, and Kael distributed the seven million J reward evenly. Lucy, glowing with excitement, could hardly believe her first S-Class job had paid so well — and the village chief had even given her a special gift: the Celestial Spirit Key of Sagittarius.
Natsu and Happy were overjoyed with their shares, and even Laxus seemed content. Over time, Kael's calm leadership had softened Laxus's rough edges — without Lisanna's tragedy in this world, his bitterness had never taken root.
Ur and her companions watched the laughter and chaos of the guild unfold — and for the first time in years, they smiled, warmed by the spirit that only Fairy Tail could offer.
