Chapter 97 - Chapter 97 – The Falna System Meant Only for the Gifted

"You've grown quite nicely."

Loki patted Tsuna on the back and handed him the freshly imprinted parchment.

Taking the paper from her hand, Tsuna scanned it quickly—and immediately understood.

"So... 1101 is my cap for everything except Magic. Pushing it any higher would be ridiculously hard—and not worth the effort."

Raising his Status a little more wasn't what mattered. The real key was whether or not he could break through again.

After learning the true nature of the Falna, Tsuna had realized something important: the difference between an ordinary Falna and a transcendent one lay entirely in whether you could surpass your own limits.

That so-called "limit" was the number every adventurer knew—the benchmark of 999.

If someone could push even a little past that line—by one point, two points—it meant more than all the effort it took to reach the first 999.

His Magic, for instance, had hit 2001 before. That didn't mean his growth had stopped; it meant the Falna simply couldn't measure beyond that.

Once someone exceeded the measurable range of the Falna, that was the sign—it was time to Level Up.

After thinking for a moment, Tsuna looked back up.

"Miss Loki, about that 999 limit in the Falna... is that really a fixed maximum?"

"Huh? What do you mean?"

"I mean, my Magic never hit a wall at 999—it just stopped increasing after 2001. I don't think it's that my ability can't grow anymore. It's that once I went beyond the Falna's measurement threshold, it couldn't record it, right?"

Both Loki and Astraea instantly understood what he was implying. Loki's lips curled in amusement.

"So what you're saying is—each person's ceiling is different. For most adventurers, 999 is the limit the Falna can track. But for those with exceptional talent, their upper boundary could exceed that, right?"

"Exactly. Like your four main stats—they grew roughly a hundred points past the usual cap, meaning your personal limit is around 1099. And your Magic... its upper limit must've reached 1999."

"Hmm. That actually makes sense," Loki admitted.

At least in theory, it was sound.

She didn't believe for a second that Tsuna's Magic had stopped growing—far from it. The abnormal plateau in his numbers practically proved there was something else going on.

Since the last update, his Magic had remained locked at exactly 2001. That clearly wasn't normal.

But if the Falna's upper limit simply reflected a person's true potential—and the "breakthrough" beyond that was the real measurement boundary—then that strange static value finally made sense.

The standard 999 wasn't a divine absolute; it was just the number marking where a normal person hit their limit. Those with greater talent could reach it easily—but breaking past it depended entirely on whether their gift and potential ran deeper.

"This training run really made that obvious," Loki mused.

"Tiona and Tione broke through in Strength and Endurance. Riveria made a huge leap in her weakest areas—Strength and Endurance. And you, Tsuna... you broke through everything."

"It seems the Falna's limit truly stops at 999, and any growth beyond that is outside its measurable range."

Loki hadn't known that before—not even remotely.

In fact, almost no god in the entire Labyrinth City would have noticed.

To uncover such a quirk in the Falna system, at least one member of a Familia had to surpass that 999 threshold first—a rarity in itself.

"This discovery's pretty nice," Loki said, smirking. "Though all it really tells us is that the Falna's deeper layers only matter for those with real talent, potential, and magic."

It was an intriguing revelation, one Loki was certain no other god or goddess besides her and Astraea knew.

Still, there was no need to share this with everyone upstairs. Not every deity needed to know the system had hidden layers like this.

Loki nudged Astraea with her elbow, grin widening.

"Astraea, maybe you should tell Alise and the others about what we found."

Astraea sighed softly. "I'd rather not put that kind of pressure on them."

"Eh~ how's that pressure? They held up fine in there, didn't they? If you tell them about this, they'll probably get motivated—start wondering which of their stats might break past the Falna limit next."

Loki's teasing words made Astraea pause in thought.

Sure, it would be a heavy bit of information—but also an inspiring one.

Whether an adventurer could break past that boundary was a huge deal.

The Hiryute sisters had broken their Strength and Endurance caps, but their Dexterity and Agility were still stuck at the ceiling. It was a perfect example.

Maybe the ability to surpass that wall marked the true difference between ordinary talent and extraordinary genius.

While the two goddesses discussed, Tiona and Tione had already crowded in beside Tsuna.

"Whoa~ Tsuna, you broke through even more than we did!"

Tiona's eyes went wide. She'd thought she and her sister had done amazingly well—only to realize Tsuna's growth completely eclipsed theirs.

"Yeah, he did... though," Tione said, reaching out and poking Tsuna lightly on the back.

The moment her finger touched him, his body jerked as if struck by lightning.

She sighed. "I knew it. You still haven't summoned your Healing Rabbit, have you? You planning to just collapse here?"

"Muscle pain's part of the strengthening process. It's better to let it run its course," Tsuna replied, shaking his head weakly.

The Healing Rabbit could've eased the pain instantly, sure—but this wasn't a combat situation. There was no life-or-death urgency. The pain from training was part of the natural tearing and rebuilding process of muscle growth.

"There won't be another Training Space session anytime soon anyway. It's fine to keep things as they are."

"Huh~ didn't know that," Tione said, raising a brow.

"So there's really no quick way to recover, then?"

"Not exactly," Tsuna said. "Stretching and massage after intense training help accelerate recovery the most."

But then he thought of Tiona and Tione's strength—and quickly abandoned the idea.

"I'll handle it myself once I've rested back in my room."

"That so?"

Tione's sharp eyes softened slightly. She could tell there was something Tsuna wasn't saying.

He was being polite—too polite. Almost distant.

And for some reason... that bothered her.
