Chapter 46 - Chapter 46 – An Instinctive Reaction

Tiona and Tione's new outfits—made from the crimson Shroud of Saint Remains—were slightly different from each other: matching tops and bottoms, along with a wrap tied around the waist. Without hesitation, the sisters began changing right there in the room.

After a few stretches and quick movements, both of them nodded in approval.

"No discomfort at all."

"The fabric feels amazing. It's even better than what we used before—smooth against the skin, snug but still breathable. It doesn't cling in a gross way either."

Tione tugged lightly on her top, stretching the strap to its limit before letting go. It instantly returned to its original fit. As clothing, it was perfect.

"But for gear, what really matters is defense."

Her eyes flicked toward the wall where several curved blades were mounted. Grabbing one, she pressed the tip directly against her chest and stabbed forward.

She felt the impact—but no pain. Looking down, she saw the blade's tip stopped dead, unable to pierce through. Her eyes widened in surprise.

"Incredible defense. This is one of my top-grade blades, but the material blocked it completely."

"Tione, don't move," Tiona said, already reaching for her own weapon. "I'm testing it with Urga."

That wasn't a light test. The double-bladed giant weapon, nearly as tall as she was, had both weight and power enough to crush stone. Tiona spun once and swung one of Urga's blades horizontally, aiming for Tione's waist.

Tione didn't dodge. She planted her feet, letting the strike hit her full-on. The impact sent her flying across the room. Pain flared in her abdomen, but it wasn't unbearable. Twisting midair, she kicked off the wall to bleed off the momentum and landed lightly, glancing down at her waist.

The wrap around her stomach was completely intact—no tear, not even a scratch.

"It blocked a first-class weapon cleanly and absorbed most of the impact. Hurts a bit, but it's totally manageable."

Her voice brimmed with awe. That kind of defense from fabric this thin was insane. Stopping a knife was one thing—but blocking Urga was another level entirely.

Even high-grade armor couldn't guarantee surviving one of Tiona's full swings. Urga was forged from super-hardened ore, built for both sharpness and sheer weight. When Tiona used it, even rock giants on the 30th floor of the Dungeon couldn't withstand a single hit. Yet this lightweight fabric had completely nullified it. "Surprised" didn't even begin to cover it.

"Absorbing impact and reducing incoming damage are the Shroud's most direct functions," Tsuna explained. "Aside from the top, underwear, and waist wrap, there's also the arm guards. Tione's wearing footless stockings, while Tiona has leg wraps. They're defensive, but they can also be used offensively."

He pointed to their hands. "The arm guards can be rewrapped to form gloves. The Shroud absorbs shock, so if you use it like that, you can punch solid objects without injuring yourselves."

Every piece had a purpose. As Tsuna described the different ways to use each part, it became clear the Shroud of Saint Remains wasn't just exceptional armor—it was versatile weaponry too.

"Perfect as improvised weapons when we lose ours," Tione said, smirking. "Not as sharp as a first-tier blade, but as combat gloves? Ideal. The only question is how long this stuff lasts. If it fails mid-battle, Tiona and I'll be naked in front of everyone."

Her teasing tone made it obvious she was joking. Every adventurer knew that even without gear, a Level 4 wouldn't die that easily. At worst, they'd just be humiliated.

"It won't happen."

Tsuna's reply came out immediately—too fast, too firm. The image her words conjured flashed through his mind, and the words slipped out before he could stop them. The idea of either of them being exposed like that was absolutely unacceptable to him.

"I mean," he corrected quickly, "during the Dungeon expedition, I'll reconstruct new Shrouds for you after a certain time. We can keep the old ones to track how long the material lasts."

"Oh, that's a good idea," Tiona said brightly. "That way, we can test durability and keep wearing your gear at the same time!"

Her eyes sparkled at the thought. It was the perfect excuse to keep using Tsuna's creations. The only downside was that he still couldn't make his constructs permanent—otherwise, things would be a lot simpler.

"Tione, what do you—huh?"

Tiona turned to her sister, only to find her looking oddly blank for a moment. "What's wrong?" she asked, nudging her curiously.

"…Nothing."

Realizing her sister's questioning gaze, Tione quickly shook her head. Her earlier joke hadn't been serious, but Tsuna's immediate, instinctive reaction caught her off guard. It wasn't something he'd thought through—just pure reflex.

So… he really doesn't want us being exposed in front of everyone.

That thought slipped quietly through Tione's mind, stirring something faintly warm in her chest. For someone as straightforward as an amazoness, it was a strange, unfamiliar feeling. But she pushed it down almost as soon as it surfaced.

He's probably just… well-mannered. That's all.

She calmed her thoughts, her usual confident smile returning.

"Alright then, Tsuna," she said lightly. "Looks like our safety's in your hands."

"Yeah. Leave it to me." Tsuna smiled back.
