Morning light filtered softly through the tall windows as Yun Si was being fed by the maids once again. The routine had already become painfully familiar—pillows adjusted, the tray set carefully in front of her, warm soup lifted to her lips with practiced precision.
Her body still felt heavy, every movement sending dull aches through her limbs, but her mind was far from calm. Just as the maid finished feeding her, the door opened, and a doctor walked in, followed by an assistant carrying a clipboard.
Yun Si immediately straightened her gaze, as if this were her chance at salvation.
The doctor began his round check, examining her bandages, asking a few routine questions, and checking the machines beside her bed. Yun Si endured it quietly until he finally stepped back.
"Doctor," she spoke up, her voice firm despite her weakness, "when will I be able to get out of this bed?"
