Chapter 58 - Chapter 21 - Our Pages (Patreon)

Not doing anything is just another way of giving up.

Drowning yourself in the past only drains you dry.

So remember the good things—and move forward.

Now, the butterfly has finally taken flight, breaking free from the hunter's hand.

What matters to me now… are the people standing behind me.

"When your father and I first wondered whether we should even have a child, I hesitated so much. I was scared—scared I wouldn't raise you the way I dreamed. But now… I regret nothing. Because my child is growing up." I saw my older brother in that memory, gently brushing my hair as he bent down toward Mother's frail hand on her hospital bed.

"You're not like me or your mom, Seokjin. Do what you want. Your dad's got your back, always." My dad's voice echoed right after Mom's funeral.

My brother. "Songs reflect the soul—our soul. So what about you, brother? What kind of person are you?" He asked before leaving home. "No matter what kind of person you turn out to be, I'll always love you."

And finally, "A guy like you is gonna shake this whole damn industry, lil' bro. Make a change—one hell of a change." Sanghye's word pushed me to keep going.

I opened my eyes; I found myself kneeling in front of the old tree in our yard, brushing its roots with my hand, whispering my goodbye. "Please watch over me… all of you."

When I turned around, there they were—Iris and Kang Yong-gi—waiting with warm smiles.

"Let's go," Dae-hong called from the SUV, already starting the engine.

It was eight-thirty. We drove into the city and stopped before a pair of towering twin buildings. I stepped out in my suit, staring up at the engraved letters.

"COURT OF JUSTICE."

Crowds of people swarmed—journalists, fans, and reporters. Some wanted signatures. Some wanted comments. Microphones were shoved my way.

"Mr. White! Do you think you'll win the case against Na Dae Jung for committing perjury?"

I just smiled lightly. "Today, I'm here as Woo Seokjin, not White. How should I put it… hah. Well—all things are possible, y'know?"

"Mr. Woo~ Autograph, please!!"

I raised both hands to my fans. "After the hearing ends, I'll give everyone selfies. Deal?"

"DEAL~~~~~~!"

They cleared a path as I walked through the gate, into the main plaza.

"Let's do this," I murmured, smiling at the fans who cheered me on like a rising wave.

They'd boarded this ship with me. I wasn't going to let them down.

Wooooooooooooooooooooo—

"Woo Seokjin! Woo Seokjin! Woo Seokjin! Woo Seokjin!"

Breaking! Top star "White" files a lawsuit against major label OPP4 over false accusations and fabricated evidence—seeking justice for his best friend "Mr. K."

Netizen Comments:

JPingSoo1: Damn, here we go~ Is the rising star gonna soar or crash? Dude was doing just fine till he decided to pick a fight LOL.

M1NS00: Can he even win? OPP4 is a monster. Five-star lawyers. I'd say White's chances are like… 30% at best. This is basically suicide.

K4ngJae: Heard Na Daejung is appearing in court himself. Shit—got goosebumps. I think I just grew fur like a werewolf.

Vvhrizing9: It is weird. Surviving an accident should be good enough already. But suing to prove he wasn't the driver? And if OPP4 really framed K? Yikes. But what's White even gaining from this? Defamation, falsifying evidence… it's small compared to staging a murder. Plus that contract issue. If he loses, OPP4 will skin him alive.

Han115: Maybe the one who walked into the courthouse isn't White. It's Seokjin

MidChoi33: Either way, good luck to both sides. Let the law decide.

Thump! Thump! The courtroom doors swung open. I stepped inside and immediately spotted a young attorney waiting for me.

"Mr. Woo, this way please," he said, walking over with the \I/ emblem pinned neatly to his suit.Of course—I'd chosen a lawyer who was firmly on my side.

The courtroom was stunning, almost reverent. Classic. Immaculate. Cream-white wooden walls and flooring, a vast chamber with high ceilings. Pale stone pillars lined both sides in perfect symmetry, and above them, stained-glass windows glowed where sunlight filtered in—almost like the room itself honored the sanctity of justice. A long white carpet stretched all the way to the judge's bench. On the left and right were rows of stiff wooden seats, easily distinguishable by the colored cloth draped over them.

On the left, draped in blue—the plaintiff's side, my side. I saw Sanghye's family, the Wolves Kiss trio, Producer Suhee, and Manager Bonseong—all here to hear the truth with their own ears.

On the right, draped in red—the defendant's side. The OPP4 team who handled the vehicle "recovery" that night. And at the very front sat Na Daejung, wearing a black suit and a blue tie, his company lawyer beside him. He turned to look at me, casually tugging at his mustache, hiding that conniving little smile he always wore. Behind him sat the old man, the witness who'd once been on my side.

Yeah. Daejung had the power to shut him up already.

I kept my expression flat as I followed my attorney to the front table of the plaintiff's section. Then I lifted my eyes to the far end of the room—the judge's seat.

People were still murmuring. The hearing hadn't begun yet.

I turned back toward Sanghye's family, my eyes searching for Producer An Suhee. She lifted a fist in the air. I gave her a faint smile and a small nod, and the memory of what she told me in the VIP room at Da Li Hong came flooding back.

We had all been drinking together — me, Iris, Junho, Kang Yonggi, Li Hong, and Producer Suhee — sitting in a loose circle with wine bottles scattered across the low table.

"What made you decide to work here?" I'd asked her.

"In terms of experience, I've done everything," she said. "From hauling crates from the basement up to the fiftieth floor to serving big shots in private lounges. That's why I still have to look perfect. This isn't my real face. I barely feel anything on my skin anymore. Na Daejung made me this way. My entire body was built on sponsorship money." She let out a bitter laugh. "Cover girl of 2045. 'Role Model Suhee.' The glamorous life. Married the owner of the most powerful entertainment company in South Korea."

Before she could continue, she emptied her wine glass in one gulp.

"Easy, unnie," Iris said, gently taking the glass from her hand, while Li Hong slid the bottle away from her.

"Na Daejung married his producer," Kang Yonggi cut in. "I was at the wedding."

"Yeah," Suhee said, her voice cracking. "My ex-husband. We divorced in 2049. A year later I sued him for custody." She paused, eyes growing glassy. "Yonggi knew I'd lose. Everyone knew. But I still fought for my child. My own flesh and blood. I couldn't let that kid grow up under that monster's fist."

"You're still working at OPP4, so that means…" I didn't finish. I didn't need to. I already knew.

"He's holding her kid hostage," Da Li Hong said flatly. "Special child. Nineteen-year contract. If she stops working for the company, she loses all rights."

Mrs. Suhee lifted a trembling hand to wipe her tears, smearing her makeup along her cheekbone. "Women like me… we get tired too," she murmured. And yet she forced a soft smile. "You're a real gem, Woo Seokjin. I admire how far you've come. But fighting a demon like him… that's not something a normal person can win. Daejung will crush you with everything he has. All he cares about is staying above everyone."

"And honestly, suing over the surgery might make you lose even harder," Yonggi warned.

"The doctor won't spill anything," Iris added. "Not without a war. Even if you win…"

"I'm fucked too," Li Hong said, raising his hands. "I'm one of Daejung's dogs. But hey—it's your call." He sighed. "Consider it my way of atoning for what happened to your friend."

I nodded, letting their words sink into me. Then I closed my eyes.

"I'm not doing this for myself," I said quietly. "Not at all."

Thud. Thud.

My eyes shot open as the courtroom door swung inward. A court officer's voice rang through the chamber: "Please rise and remain standing for the judge."

Everyone stood. The old man in the black robe walked along the white carpet, ascended the steps, and took his seat on the bench like someone who ruled both heaven and earth.

"You may be seated," he said, his voice calm but heavy with authority.
