Scyther was incredibly fast, constantly circling Scizor and looking for an opportunity to strike. Conversely, Scizor was somewhat lost; in previous Battles, it had always relied on its eyes to determine the opponent's position.
Now that its eyes were covered, it couldn't see anything and didn't even dare to fly. Since it was blind, it had to remain on the Ground. However, with its sight gone, all of its focus shifted to its ears.
Deciding to meet change with constancy, it assumed a Combat Stance. Meanwhile, as Scyther circled, it continuously observed Scizor's movements.
In the next instant, Scyther launched an attack, darting toward Scizor with extreme speed. Scyther's Speed was so great that Scizor clearly failed to notice it. Scyther appeared beside Scizor in a flash.
It raised its Scythe and delivered a heavy blow. However, Scyther didn't strike Scizor's head; instead, it hit Scizor's leg. Scizor felt a sharp pain in its leg and fell to the Ground unsteadily.
With Scizor's defense broken in an instant, how could Scyther pass up this opportunity? It immediately attacked Scizor from all directions.
Fury Cutter!
A barrage of Scythe strikes rained down on Scizor without a second's pause, like a localized storm. Waves of pain washed over Scizor, but it wasn't completely dazed yet and reacted quickly.
It used its claws to protect itself, searching for Scyther's position while defending. However, the pain made it impossible to calm down and judge. Suddenly, Scizor had a flash of inspiration. Its body lit up, and a green barrier appeared around it, protecting it from harm.
Scyther's Scythes struck the green barrier several times without dealing damage, so it immediately vanished. It waited for the next chance to attack. During the interval provided by the use of Protect, Scizor managed to get a brief rest. It vibrated its wings, flew from the Ground into mid-air, and panted heavily.
Watching from the side, Eichi and Muramasa remained silent. Eichi saw that Scizor was being battered quite miserably by Scyther. On the surface, he appeared indifferent, but internally, he was very worried about his Pokémon.
From a distance, Scizor hadn't completely become a fish on a chopping block after being blindfolded, but it was close. Its combat effectiveness had been nearly neutralized.
Beside him, Muramasa watched the fight while observing Eichi's expression, secretly nodding. Not bad, he isn't panicked at all and remains very calm. This is a very good trait.
Back in the air, Scizor still couldn't locate Scyther. Suddenly, sounds came from all directions—the rustling of falling leaves was everywhere. It turned out Scyther had slashed at the surrounding Trees, causing leaves to shower down.
Scizor knew Scyther was attacking and began to spin its body.
Swords Dance!
It spun its body frantically just as Scyther charged out. The Scythe was instantly blocked, forcing Scyther to retreat into the distance.
Seeing this, the corners of Eichi's mouth curled up slightly, and Muramasa also nodded with a small smile.
Scizor breathed a sigh of relief, but it didn't know that Scyther had secretly flown beneath its feet. Scyther swung its Scythe, slashing through the air.
Air Slash!
Two massive blades of wind surged toward Scizor at high speed. Eichi's heart tightened. Scizor only noticed the wind blades when they were right upon it while it was still spinning.
But it was too late. Furthermore, the use of Swords Dance only protected its sides; its feet were a weak point. The wind blades struck Scizor. The moment it was hit, the pain caused it to lose focus, and its movements stopped.
Scyther took this chance, vibrated its wings, and charged forward, unleashing a series of Fury Cutter strikes. The Scizor, which had just regained a bit of focus, was hit again, and pain surged through its body once more.
Scizor was now completely overwhelmed, serving as a mere target for Scyther. It was hit an unknown number of times. Finally, Scyther delivered a forceful blow to Scizor's head. Scizor fell, smashing a shallow pit into the Ground.
Scyther chased it down, raising its Scythe to deliver the final blow, but Muramasa suddenly shouted, "That's enough, Scyther."
Upon hearing Muramasa's command, the Scythe that was about to hit Scizor stopped instantly. Scyther retracted its blades and appeared to Muramasa's right. Eichi ran to the spot where Scizor had fallen. Scizor was struggling to crawl out of the shallow pit.
Eichi took a Potion from his Backpack and began spraying it on Scizor's wounds. Mr. Muramasa also walked over. Scizor kept its eyes fixed on the Scyther beside Muramasa. The Battle just now had been incredibly frustrating for Scizor; being blindfolded made it feel like prey.
Mr. Muramasa smiled slightly upon seeing Scizor's expression. Then, he picked up the Black Blindfold that had fallen off Scizor and tied it over Scyther's head.
"Now it's Scyther's turn," Muramasa said. "Scizor, you give it a try."
Ten minutes later, Scizor had recovered significantly. Now it was Scizor's turn to attack. Muramasa's Scyther stood on the Ground with its eyes covered, perfectly still in a Combat Stance, appearing calm and composed.
Scizor was ready and darted out instantly. Just as it reached a meter in front of Scyther, it suddenly used Double Team. It transformed into dozens of clones, surrounding Scyther and attacking all at once.
Despite the approaching crisis, Scyther didn't move an inch, still holding its Scythes ready. Just as Scizor's claws were about to strike, Scyther suddenly swung its Scythe and twisted its body.
It rotated 180 degrees, blocking with both Scythes. A metallic clang rang out. Then, all the surrounding clones of Scizor vanished, leaving only the one in front. This Scizor was the real body.
Seeing that Scyther had actually blocked its attack, Scizor was shocked. Its attack had been countered. Scizor found it hard to believe; Scyther was blindfolded, and Scizor had used Double Team. This was the first time its real body had been found while using that move.
In the distance, Eichi was also very surprised. The use of Double Team was broken! This Scyther's skills were extraordinary. Eichi looked at Muramasa. At this moment, the corners of Mr. Muramasa's mouth were turned up, and one hand was busy stroking his beard.
