Celine's POV
"It baffles me that you think I would let you go like that, after I had read your eyes. You need me, Celine. You want out.
I might not be as dangerous as my brother, but I know what I want, and if I wish to you, I can set you free." Alexandro remained still, his eyes roaming with so much want hidden in them.
But hope —hope was such a fickle thing to hold on to. My fears and doubts are more palpable now.
I wish I could trust him, but I've never had anyone by my side; they constantly change and always for the worse, living like a child with a curse.
"Celine," his gentle voice called me out of my thoughts. "You are crying. Did I say something wrong?"
"Stop Alexandro, you are not doing anything wrong, but I just know that this wouldn't work. Your mom wouldn't approve of it, nor would Cassian.
I'm his slave. You have to elope with me and fight your brother, and if something bad happens to you, I'll be left alone, and he will have me again.
