"How are you feeling?"
That was the first thing Elara heard when she woke up.
She blinked her eyes innocently, unsure where she was when she took in the environment.
As she looked at the room carefully, the events before she was rendered unconscious rushed to her head, and she looked at Daniel with a mixture of guilt and sadness.
"Good," she answered, avoiding his gaze.
Daniel, seated on the chair, who had been doing nothing other than observing her for the past two hours, postponing all his meetings after he found out a gist of what happened four years ago, leaned forward.
"Do I scare you?" He asked.
Elara shook her head softly in denial.
"Does this place do?" He asked.
Elara looked around at his question. She didn't say anything. Her fingers clenched around the duvet, and Daniel's eyes darkened.
It was all the answer he needed to hear.
