Chapter 1 - Vocabulary

sembelence - something which just looks but is different

severe - intense, serious

Cripple - disabled, handicap, destort, deform

trickle- dropping of something slowly like rainwater

Coax- to persuade someone kindly to do something, using kind tone.

Jerk- sudden movement, also informal word. It's a verb.

Coarse- rough, rude, offensive

Drenched - covered in liquid

Drowned- submerged in liquid, like sinking in water

Shackling - restraining or putting limits

Choke- block, stop

Frail - weak, delicate

hind - back, rear part of animal

Bizarre - high level strangeness in a shocking and striking way

Stupor - A near-unconscious state like after drinking too much alcohol.

Budge - refering to not refusing, moving. It's very simple like rock didn't budge a inch, or she won't budge from her decision.

Immobilize - to make someone immovable.

Substantial - strong and of considerable size.

Wisp - a small, thin peice or line/streak of something like smoke.

Unbidden - something appearing without invitation and you don't want it.

Notion - an idea rather irrational

Nagging - a persistent, bothersome, annoying quality like teacher's nagging.

Spare - something extra, reserved or being merciful.

Gradually - something happening slowly, in small stages over periods of time.

Reverie - daydream, being temporarily abstracted from reality.

Trance - temporary state of altered consciousness.

Tinged - slight amount of feeling or colour mixed(tinge/tint).

Embossed - design slightly raising from surface or appearing in that way.

Panted - breathing heavily, loudly with open mouth due to physical strain or anything else.

Flopping - falling without control after being tired on chair, sofa etc

Slammed - to hit, pull push or close door forcefully and loudly

Plummeted - drop or fall down at high speed

Gulped - to swallow in large amount creating noise. You know this.

Trail - a rough route or series of mark left behind.

Elegantly - doing something in stylish, refined manner.

Perplexed - state of complete bewilderement and puzzled.

Dishelved - untidy, unordered, rumpled appearance.

Blonde - feminine term with thin hairs

Daze - a state unable to think properly because of something.

Halted - to stop or bring something to stop, temporarily or permanently
