Chapter 104: Aftermath
Dudley stumbled onto the couch in the Room of Requirement. In gamer mode, he did not feel panic at all. Instead, he felt overly confident, even more confident than when playing games.
He could see every spell projectile cast at him and even his trauma from killing people was gone. Even after deactivating gamer mind, his mental state remained stable.
Five confirmed Death Eaters had died. They were not Imperiused, because during the fight he had also encountered one Ministry official who had been placed under the Imperius Curse. That man status in the minimap bar was different, he was marked with a faint green aura and an Imperius symbol above him.
So Dudley spared him without killing.
"Master Dudley, here is the drink," offered Kreacher.
"Thank you, Kreacher," said Dudley while taking the glass of water.
Gulp! Gulp! The glass became empty.
He then passed the glass back to Kreacher and opened his mouth.
"I did it, Kreacher. I managed to destroy five of the Wanky Lord subordinates and announce to the world of his return. Regulus wish to destroy the Wanky Lord has taken a step closer," said Dudley.
Kreacher smiled when he heard that his past master Regulus wish had taken one more step closer.
"Thank you, Master," Kreacher said, filled with gratitude.
"Massage me, Kreacher. After all that fighting I need to rest for a while," ordered Dudley.
Kreacher did exactly what Dudley asked, willingly. He had truly accepted Dudley as his new master.
---Ministry Reaction---
"Five people are dead," reported an Auror to Madam Amelia.
Amelia sighed heavily. She had known that Voldemort had returned, but to attack the Ministry and escape unscathed was something unheard of.
"What do you know about what he took from the Department of Mysteries?" asked Amelia.
"A Prophecy Orb. Before he vanished, his hand was holding the prophecy orb," replied the Auror.
"Prophecy Orb?" repeated Amelia, recalling her conversation in Privet Drive. Dudley had once asked Sirius why You-Know-Who was after Harry mother. Apparently, it was because of a prophecy.
"Yes, Madam," replied the Auror.
Suddenly Dumbledore appeared, walking slowly while inspecting the damage in the Ministry. Behind him were dozens of Ministry staff and Cornelius Fudge, the Minister of Magic himself.
"Dumbledore, I really didn't expect he had returned," said Cornelius Fudge.
"I told you long ago that he had returned, but you never believed me," replied Dumbledore. In truth, his mind was worried because Voldemort had taken the Prophecy Orb.
"Dumbledore, please help me," begged Cornelius. Now he could feel his position crumbling, certain he would be kicked out later.
"I cannot help you this time, but I have some advice for you," replied Dumbledore. "The names of the Death Eaters that Harry Potter reported to you—it is better that you capture them."
"Death Eaters…" For a moment Cornelius could not process Dumbledore's words. Then he remembered that he had allowed Lucius Malfoy to become a professor at Hogwarts. "Oh no."
Amelia Bones stepped forward. "Albus," she greeted him with a curt nod.
"Amelia. I wish we were meeting under better circumstances," Dumbledore said gravely.
"As do I," she returned. "We have five confirmed dead."
Hearing this, Dumbledore expression deepened with grief. Fudge, on the other hand, looked as though he might be physically ill, his face turning a blotchy shade of purple. "Five? Who is dead, Amelia? Were they our people?" he demanded.
"My department will provide a full report once the identities are confirmed," Amelia replied coolly, just as another Auror hurried towards them, holding a rolled-up piece of parchment.
"Madam Bones, we have an urgent update," the junior Auror said, his eyes wide.
Dumbledore and Fudge leaned in, listening intently.
"The deceased, ma'am… we've examined the bodies. They all bear the Dark Mark on their left forearm."
Dumbledore's expression changed, while Cornelius looked utterly shocked.
"Who?" asked Amelia.
"Corban Yaxley and Augustus Rookwood," reported the Auror. He himself had not expected Rookwood to be a Death Eater.
"Really?" asked Amelia.
"Yes. There was also a witness who said You-Know-Who called them traitors before attacking them," reported the Auror again.
Dumbledore mind working very fast, he had feeling that the person is not Voldemort but the way that man took the prophecy and even kill the people is something that he stuck confused.
Gellert Grindelwald had once used powerful tranfiguration to disguise himself as a percival graves the Director of Magical Security at the Magical Congress of the United States of America (MACUSA).
So the same thing could happen here, furthermore it is impossible for Tom Riddle killed his Augustus Rookwood here and even announce to the world that they are traitor.
---Lucius Malfoy---
Lucius Malfoy sat bound to the chair inside Hogwarts hall, his silver-blond hair disheveled and his wand had been confiscated, his eyes burning with fury as he struggled against the enchanted ropes.
The professors who remained looked tense, no one was there except the professor, and all the students even Harry had returned to their common rooms. The silence was heavy, broken only by the faint sound of Lucius ragged breathing as he tried to maintain his composure.
The door slammed open, and Severus Snape stormed in, his robes billowing like dark wings. His eyes narrowed at the sight of Lucius restrained.
"What is the meaning of this?" Snape snapped, his voice dripping with venom. "Potter! Has he lost his mind? Attacking a professor in the Great Hall? This is beyond arrogance... it is madness!"
"Quiet, Severus. This is Dumbledore order," warned McGonagall, her lips tight as she restrained herself from cursing Snape outright.
But Snape was not done. Fury lingered on his face, though he did not rise again. Instead, he sat stiffly, arms crossed, radiating dissatisfaction that filled the hall like a storm cloud.
An hour dragged by, tension mounting with every tick of the clock. At last, the doors burst open again, this time with Amelia Bones, a squad of Aurors, and Professor Dumbledore entering together.
"Lucius Malfoy," Amelia declared coldly, her voice echoing across the hall, "you are under arrest on suspicion of being a Death Eater and aiding the Dark Lord. You will come with us to the Ministry for questioning."
"This is not the end," Lucius spat, his gaze filled with venom as he glared at Dumbledore before being hauled to his feet and escorted out under heavy guard.

Apology:I am very sorry, it took me quite a while to write the latest chapter. I ended up adding something that was not included in my outline, which is the Vaelen. My outline was not logical at all because, after suffering two major setbacks, Voldemort should be extremely weak and his followers should start losing trust in him.
But in my outline, Voldemort suddenly counterattacked Dumbledore, and it did not make sense. So to fix this problem, I introduced another Dark Entity from the Dark Dimension, the same dimension where Dementors originally came from.
After that, I realised I had made my outline even more chaotic and needed to rethink the direction again. That is why there were no updates for a while because I ran out of ideas. But now I am back and got some idea to write.
