Chapter 70 - Intelligence on Dealing with Zombies

A week later, Wang Zhi returned to the residence. During this time, because of the missions carried out outside, the other teams had also quickly been promoted to Level Three Teams. The third floor went from having three teams to twelve teams.

As soon as Wang Zhi stepped out of the elevator, he was momentarily stunned to see many more people in the training ground. But calculating the time, it was about right. Being promoted to a Level Three Team only required earning ten thousand Survival Points to meet the condition, not spending ten thousand points.

Wang Zhi also saw Tang Qilin training with five girls. He wondered where he had managed to recruit another girl, but that was fine; Wang Zhi no longer needed to worry about him bothering Jia Liuli.

Returning to the residence, it was dark inside; they must have been sleeping, as he hadn't noticed them outside earlier.

Wang Zhi fumbled his way into his room in the dark and turned on the light, discovering Su Muying and Jia Liuli fast asleep on his bed.

"I say, the two of you, even when I'm not home, you have to come into my room?" Wang Zhi looked at the two on the bed and spoke.

"What 'your room'?" At this, Su Muying also woke up groggily and said.

"Yes, if it's not my room, could it be yours?" Wang Zhi's face darkened.

"Yes, isn't this our room?" Su Muying mumbled before falling back asleep.

Seeing that Ying was extremely sleepy, Wang Zhi didn't disturb her further. He dropped his luggage and left the room, going to the living room to turn on the Ling Lingyao to check the latest news from Dawn Tower.

There were three pieces of good news and two pieces of bad news.

Good News One: The Zombie Viral Antibody Vaccine has entered clinical trials and is expected to enter mass production in a month.

Good News Two: To encourage the enthusiasm of exploration teams going out, military equipment prices have been slightly reduced.

Good News Three: Migrants from outside who intend to join an exploration team will be promoted to Citizen status. Citizen training will restart with Survival Points subsidies; accumulating 12 hours of training earns 10 Survival Points.

Bad News One: Citizens who do not join an exploration team will be demoted to Migrant status.

Bad News Two: Due to a shortage of electrical energy, the price per kilowatt-hour has increased from 1 Survival Point to 2 Survival Points.

Wang Zhi looked at these announcements; they were all within his expectations. The only surprise was that food prices hadn't increased!

Was the Dawn Tower biting the bullet to hold on, or were they truly wealthy? Wang Zhi couldn't gauge the depth of the Dawn Tower's resources.

It was clear from the five announcements that all the good news favored the exploration teams, while the bad news was aimed almost entirely at the Migrants.

It seemed the situation for the exploration teams was not optimistic during this period. The casualty rate was gradually increasing, causing significant trouble for the future development of the Dawn Tower.

After reading the announcements, Wang Zhi opened his account again. The team's total Survival Points earned so far was 33,500, with 19,500 remaining. They still needed to acquire another 16,500 Survival Points to be promoted to a Level Four team.

Wang Zhi checked his intelligence income again and found that his outdated intelligence was no longer generating any profit for him. It seemed time to post some new intelligence.

Wang Zhi went to Fatty's room and woke the sleeping man up.

"Wake up! Fatty!" Wang Zhi said as he slapped Fatty on the backside.

"Huh? What is it?" Fatty mumbled after being woken up.

"Let's go out for a stroll."

"Damn it, why are you wandering around in the middle of the night instead of sleeping?" Fatty was on the verge of collapse.

"I've been sleeping in the infirmary for a week. How can I sleep now? Get up quickly!"

Wang Zhi kept pestering Fatty until the man reluctantly got out of bed.

The two put on their Weight-bearing Suits and left the residence.

"Ouch, I was just having the dream of a lifetime! You might not believe it, but I dreamed of Diao Chan! Captain Wang, I started here weighing 100 kilograms, and now I've trained down to 75 kilograms! I sweat pounds every day. After all that, can't you just let me rest during my break time?" Fatty grumbled behind him.

Wang Zhi turned to look at Fatty. Seeing Wang Zhi staring at him without speaking, Fatty asked timidly, "W-what is it, Captain Wang?"

"Can two hamburgers shut your mouth?"

"Yes!"

After the two bought some food at the cafeteria, they headed straight for the Intelligence Hall.

"Captain Wang Zhi?"

As the two were walking, someone called out to them from behind. Wang Zhi turned around.

"An Qing? Are you on patrol?" Wang Zhi saw An Qing wearing the guard armor.

"Yes! I just happened to be passing by. I heard Captain Jie Xi say you were injured?"

"Just a minor injury. If Captain Jie Xi can get hurt, it's only natural that I get a little banged up," Wang Zhi said dismissively.

"Sigh, I wish I could go out there too, but they won't let me."

"No, you absolutely must not think that way. It's not fun out there at all. If it weren't for missions, nobody would willingly go outside."

Wang Zhi looked at An Qing, suspecting her brain might be malfunctioning. She was desperate to stay inside, yet here she was, complaining that others wouldn't let her go out.

"I just hate those monsters! I want to kill them!" An Qing's eyes dimmed.

"You! Sigh! Then you should focus on training hard. I think one day, the Dawn Tower will send you out on a mission."

"Really?"

"Mhm. Once most of us field teams are dead, it will be about your turn. Alright, you should go back to your patrol now, I have to leave."

Saying this, he turned and left.

The two arrived at the Intelligence Hall. Wang Zhi wrote down the intelligence concerning the Giant Python, setting the price at 100 Survival Points per copy.

After finishing, Wang Zhi flipped through other intelligence reports. As more teams were going out, the amount of intelligence was gradually increasing.

Wang Zhi intended to look for intelligence on Mutated Zombies, but discovered there was nothing keyworded with 'mutated,' which left him slightly confused.

After searching for a while longer, Wang Zhi found a piece of intelligence on dealing with Zombies, priced at 200 Survival Points.

"Damn, that's quite exploitative," Wang Zhi remarked.

"Then why don't we unlock his intelligence first, and then write up a similar report based on it and post it ourselves?" Fatty suggested, showing off his petty cleverness.

"Submitting intelligence requires review. Do you think the people at the Dawn Tower are fools? Intelligence reports operate strictly on a first-come, first-served basis. Why should they let you profit without effort from intelligence they painstakingly obtained?" Wang Zhi glanced at Fatty as he spoke.

"Oh~ I see now."

Since it concerned how to deal with Zombies, Wang Zhi didn't hesitate and immediately swiped his card to unlock the intelligence report.
