"I am a baron of the Glan Empire. You can't kill me." Kael spoke coldly, glaring at the group with a fake tough look.
Imperial nobles were all high and mighty. If you killed an imperial noble, you were going to be at war with the whole empire.
"Hmph, a little baron. Lilia take care of him." Leo said in a dismissive way. He didn't care about any imperial baron.
"Got it." Lilia acted quickly, slashing off his head. The guy didn't even scream.
At that moment, footsteps came from outside. The big noise had attracted more soldiers.
"Let's go." Leo said. The trouble was taken care of, so it was time to leave.
"Wait." Anna picked up a chopstick, dipped it in blood, and quickly wrote some big characters on the wall.
This is the cost of angering the elves — Flame Island Elves!
Leo was speechless. They had to leave a signature. Why did he feel like Anna was so dramatic?
But this way, Flame Island was safe.
"Baron Kael!" A shout came from outside. A group of soldiers rushed in.
The big man in front looked at Kael, who was dead in a pool of blood, his head missing. His anger boiled: "Who are you guys? You want to die!"
"Go!" Leo quickly lit a bamboo tube bomb and threw it out, then jumped out the window.
Lilia was quick. She caught him as he landed.
BOOM!
Another explosion. The already shaky inn collapsed completely, and screams filled the air.
Leo didn't care. He ran toward the dock.
"Stop!"
Behind him, shouts came. A group of soldiers chased after them.
"Leo, give me, give me." Anna saw Leo pull out another bamboo tube bomb and reached out her hand.
"Anna, I have one." Lilia took off the dozens of bamboo tube bombs she was carrying and gave them to Anna.
"Only my Lilia is the best." She smiled at Leo, holding the bombs in her hand, and then lit them all, throwing them at the soldiers chasing them.
"NO, save some, this stuff is limited!" Leo looked at her wasting it and looked worried.
Boom!
Fire shot up into the sky. A terrible explosion echoed across the island.
The dozens of soldiers chasing them were all swallowed by the fire, screaming in pain.
Biggy and Secondy, who were at the back, were so scared they ran to the front.
"Why are you two jerks running so fast?" Anna yelled.
"Big shot, this stuff scared a cow." Secondy said, looking upset.
"Look at you two. So weak. You make me embarrassed. Don't say you're with me anymore." Anna said, clearly disgusted.
At that moment, another group of soldiers shouted behind them and chased after them.
"Leo, Leo, give me one more." Anna looked at Leo's bomb again, with big, sad eyes, looking at him in a pitiful way.
"Be careful with them." Leo still handed her a few bamboo bombs.
"Got it." She grinned and said, but didn't pay attention, and lit them all again, throwing them at the soldiers chasing them.
Crash!
Another explosion. Fire shot up into the sky, and screams filled the air.
"WOW! This thing is so powerful. More powerful than a fire mage!" Anna, seeing the scene, was excited and jumped around.
"Leo, I want more." She clung to Leo again.
"Big shot, there are soldiers coming up ahead." Biggy saw the soldiers rushing toward them and quickly warned.
"Give me, give me." Anna grabbed the bamboo bomb Leo was holding, lit it, and threw it forward.
"Fuck. Big shot, you're going to kill us." Biggy and Secondy, who were in front, saw the bamboo bomb flying over their heads, screamed, and quickly ran to the back.
BOOM!
The bomb exploded. Rocks flew everywhere. The soldiers in the center were blown to pieces.
Soldiers standing far away were also hit by the flying rocks, and some died or were badly hurt.
Lilia went first, quickly taking out the few soldiers who were too scared to move.
The group could already see the dock.
"Lilia, you go first. Get on the boat and wait for us." Leo told her.
"OK." Lilia nodded and kicked a random person, then quickly disappeared at the dock.
"Leo, I want more, I want more." Anna clung to him again.
Leo sighed. He looked back at the soldiers coming again and pulled out a bamboo bomb, handing it to Anna.
"Such a tightwad." Anna complained, then lit it and threw it behind.
Biggy and Secondy, who were at the back, saw this and ran again, now in the front.
"Big shot, the soldiers blocking the way in front are mine and Secondy's. Don't throw those scary bombs anymore." Biggy, hearing the explosions behind, was scared and warned.
"Got it. Run faster. Oh, Ava, give me the bombs." Anna saw Ava pulling out a few bamboo bombs and took them without asking.
She lit them and threw them behind.
"No enemies, why are you throwing it?" Leo was angry. The soldiers behind were too scared to chase, and just stayed back. The bombs weren't even useful.
"Nothing. Scare them to death." Anna didn't care, and was eager to take more bombs from Ava.
Leo was fast. He quickly snatched the bomb from her.
"Don't do that. Is that it? Leo, let me play a little more." Anna was unhappy and kept clinging.
"No. Run fast." He held the bomb close and ran as fast as he could.
The soldiers behind were clearly terrified, just pretending to chase, and didn't dare get too close.
Soon, the group reached the dock.
Lilia was already there with a small boat. "Leo, Princess Anna, here."
She waved.
They jumped and immediately got on the boat.
"Biggy, Secondy, row the boat." Anna ordered.
The two trolls grabbed the oars and rowed hard.
"Chase them. Don't let these thugs get away." The soldiers chasing from the shore jumped into the water without hesitation.
In the distance, a few big ships raised their sails, and even a warship appeared.
"Trouble!" Leo frowned. Their small boat was way too slow to outrun the big ships.
"Sir, as long as we get back to the pirate ship and enter the fog, we'll be safe." Lilia spoke.
The sea fog was swirling. Once inside, it would be easy to lose direction and hard to chase.
"What's there to fear? We still have Skyfire. Leo, give me two more to play with." Anna eyed his bombs again.
"Skyfire? That's a good name." Lilia nodded. She felt it fit the bamboo bombs perfectly.
Ava also agreed. "Leo doesn't know how to name things."
"You little brat, what do you know?" Leo glared at the girls, then turned to the two trolls rowing. "Biggy, Secondy, row faster, or I'll feed you Skyfire."
"Uh?" They were shocked. They exchanged a look, then swung their arms wildly. The boat's speed increased.
Even so, the big ships behind were still drawing closer.
Anna snatched two bamboo bombs and looked eager to use them.
But the distance was still too far. She couldn't throw them.
She looked disappointed. "Biggy, Secondy, slow down a bit. Let me play a little longer."
"No. Life is more important." Leo was speechless. He glared at them and ordered them to row as fast as they could.
Biggy and Secondy understood the urgency and rowed quickly.
Soon, the pirate ship far off in the harbor appeared.
The group abandoned the small boat and boarded the pirate ship, raising the sails.
At that moment, a whistling sound filled the air. A huge rock came flying.
It was a trebuchet from the distant ship.
BOOM!
The deck was shattered, and a big hole was torn in the ship.
But the ship was still sturdy enough.
"Go!" Leo urged. Even the pirate ship couldn't withstand the falling rocks.
Lilia and Ava hurried to pull up the anchor, raise the sails, turn the ship around, and head into the fog.
BOOM!
Another huge rock fell, nearly hitting the sails.
"Fuck! You think we don't have a trebuchet? Biggy, Secondy, help me!" Anna growled. She ran to the giant trebuchet.
Biggy and Secondy struggled to turn the ropes.
Anna placed the bamboo bombs she had stolen from Leo onto the trebuchet, lit the fuse.
"Action!" She shouted. Biggy pulled the trigger.
The wheel turned. The bombs, mixed with rocks, flew through the air toward the ships behind.
BOOM!
The bombs exploded, rocks flew everywhere, and screams echoed from the ships.
"This is so cool." Anna's eyes glowed. She turned to Leo, looking pitiful. "Leo, I want to play more."
"None left." Leo refused firmly.
The pirate ship had already started moving into the fog. There was no need to waste the bombs.
"Such a tightwad." Anna was annoyed. She ran to the deck, stood by the railing, and shouted, "You lowly humans dare to provoke the princess! This is your fate!"
Leo frowned. That girl was definitely trying to provoke more enemies. She was just looking for trouble.
"Princess Anna, be careful," Lilia warned from behind.
Anna jumped down from the railing, clapped her hands, and said, "I've decided. I'm not going back to the Elven Forest. I'm going to adventure with you guys!"
