While Anas couldn't part ways with the knife that Maj gave him, he still felt a bit conflicted seeing a human being, in some sense, killed by his own hands. Having to touch the corpse and alter its condition some more then requires more courage than simply stealing its life and throwing it away, digging your hands back in the dirt and connecting with death didn't seem so appealing to him in any shape or form.
As Anas made it to the second district, he went into an alley to the back of an old restaurant and found its owner walking back from the dumpster after he threw away some leftovers. He stood still some distance away from the back door until the owner managed to reach him with heavy steps, and when he tried to talk and explain why he is here the owner just walked past him, but as he reached for the handle he looked back towards Anas with a confused look, which made Anas hurry up and follow him as he thought to himself, "Man... do I have to treat everyone like a copy of Maj?"
Inside, he found a number of people dining despite the front gate being closed, who he guessed are the children of Boris' team, but as he went to greet them the second child stopped him in his track, "You're late, you're more than late. Are you trying to sabotage the plan?"
Anas took a second to realize the hostility in his tone. He looked a bit different in the pictures but Anas manged to recognize him as the second child of the team, with his brown messy hair and sharp eyes, he made for an intimidating look that is not easy to forget.
Amongst the children, he was one of the only two people who weren't eating, and instead was standing upright with crossed arms, running out of patience and possibly ready to go whenever it hit the limits, "Sorry for keeping you waiting, I ran into something on the way." said Anas, with a stupid smile on his face, perhaps for being both nervous and tired, and partially not being used to deal with aggression outright, which managed to piss the other off even more, but before he could say anything, the other person that wasn't eating spoke up without lifting her eyes up, "Kyle."
Kyle swallowed whatever words he was ready to spit out and looked back while a drop of sweat ran down his cheek as he grated his teeth. The girl sitting the farthest away in the back near the front gate switched her sitting position and crossed her legs as she let both of her hands atop one another on her knee, while she switched her gaze to Anas this time, "You're indeed late, anyone would be understandably unhappy about that, but it wouldn't justify whatever behavior that it invites."
The first child of Boris, Naina. Her hazel eyes in the dark made Anas a bit uneasy and a bit stiff, but as she invited him to come over and sit next to her, he had no option but to suck it up.
She briefly explained how they're planning to invade the apartment of three vulture bees, and there are no reason for him to interfere and get in the way, and should instead focus his energy on support and taking in the experience.
When Naina finally stood up, the rest dropped what they were doing on the spot and were ready to go, which made Anas wonder sarcastically if she applied torture methods to make them this obedient.
They all followed in line behind her as she went through the backdoor, while Anas was struggling to lift his feet and keep up from behind as they were all quickening their pace. When they made it to an abandoned building, Anas was told to keep at a distance next to the stair in case something happened, while they all surrounded a door of a lively apartment.
Naina's eyes glowed brightly as she stood right in front of the door, and was able to determine that the number of people matches, but there was something a bit off in a room deeper inside which she couldn't see through its walls. She took a few seconds to make up her mind and then signaled to Kyle with a light nod. Kyle then shoved his hand in his mouth and pulled out a couple of his teeth, then while the rest were kept on his left hand he moved one of them to his right hand crushed it with considerable force, as he applied the powder generated from it to where he guessed would be the joints of the door as well as the lock, he counted to three with his fingers before an explosion erupted and knocked the door down, and before anyone inside could react he threw the rest that were kept in his other hand and clenched his jaw.
A cloud of smoke covered the entrance of the apartment and blinded everyone inside while the power of the explosion had already knocked them down in every direction. The whole team went on the move in one burst. Naina infiltrated and gained a position that captured the whole scene with her eyes so she could give instructions. Kyle kept creating smaller scale explosions from different angles based on what Naina would tell him to confuse the vulture bees. A small figure of a girl with a whip made out of the bones in her left arm was applying long-range pressure based on instructions. A figure of an old man with a young lady combined close range attacks and follow ups, as one with sharpened black fingernails that seemed to cut through anything, and the other with longer limbs that seemed to have several joints within them that could trace their target beyond being able to dodge, all based on instructions.
When Anas finally managed to realize the situation by the door, it was already over. The smoke slowly made it through the open window, as the situation seemed to have been settled.
The whole team relaxed and started cursing the vulture bees after being exhausted and having reached their limits, while Kyle threw a comment to Anas about not getting any rewards if that's what he was hoping for by joining when he noticed that Naina was distracted by something else, but through the smoke, he realized that Anas wasn't around anymore.
While Naina was still trying to see through the wall but getting no feedback at all, she suddenly managed to pick up on something and went to the room inside right away. As she entered, she saw Anas standing upright in front of a worn out closet, while a sound of something unsettling in there was nailed to her ears.
When Anas opened the closet, his eyes were met with three individuals, a young man, a young lady, and a child, with eyes that kept producing water, and a mouth that both of the other two behind her were trying to cover from producing a sound.
When Naina was finally able to see it, she whispered to herself, "A barrier... vulture bees." That's when she nudged Anas and ordered him to use his knife.
Anas pulled out a sharp object from the inside pocket of his jacket. His lips kept moving as if he was saying something, but there was no sound. His eyes tried to see something, but there was no vision. His body tried to choose something, but there was no will.
The child's eyes were reflected on the sharp object, and as she watched closely at the reflection to the core of her eyes, the water running down began to turn from transparent into something else, as her head fell back and her neck felt a bit loose, her face had no expression.
A deafening sound started ringing in everyone's ears, as the ceiling fell down and a huge figure dropped down with it. When Anas turned around to see, Naina was farther back to the wall than she was a moment ago right behind his back, while her legs were in different corners around the room and decorated with shattered glass from every angle.
A large figure towered over and behind him, and as he lifted his head to take in the full extent of his height, an arm swung at him that matched the size of his body, and sent him flying to the side.
The sound of a terrible fight echoed around for quite a bit more, but there was no one left to hear.
The child looked back at Anas' motionless body as she was being held up by the large figure, but there was no more tears.
