The evening sky bled crimson over Sendai as sirens wailed, painting the school grounds in chaotic flashes of blue and red. Helicopters circled above, broadcasting the incident live. Below, agents of the National Cursed Division (NCD) flooded the perimeter, erecting barriers and cleansing the grounds of lingering low-grade curses.
And atop the shattered terrace of Sugisawa High, Ryomen Sukuna stood reborn.
He stared down at the chaos below, his slit-pupiled eyes glowing a deep, hellish crimson. His laughter tore through the wind — ancient, malevolent, echoing with centuries of slaughter.
"Ahh... this smell... this fear. The scent of weaklings trying to play gods." Sukuna sneered, his grin widening.
"What are these? Tools? Metal insects killing curses?" He gestured toward the NCD agents firing exorcist rifles and hurling purifying grenades.
"How amusing... humanity didn't just survive — they evolved."
Megumi stood at a distance, body tensed, one hand ready to summon his shikigami. Sweat beaded on his forehead.
'He's on a completely different level... just being near him makes breathing difficult...'
Sukuna turned to him slowly. "Oh? Still alive, little rat? You should be honored — few have seen me twice and still breathe."
Before Megumi could react, Sukuna's grin faltered. His body twitched — once, twice — and then his expression twisted into confusion.
"What... what is this?" he growled, clutching his chest.
From within, Yuji's voice echoed, trembling yet firm.
Yuji: "You're not doing whatever you want with my body!"
Sukuna: "You... insignificant brat!"
Sukuna's body convulsed, his laughter warping into a growl as the crimson eyes dimmed. Within seconds, the tattoos faded, and Yuji fell to one knee, gasping.
Megumi blinked, completely stunned. "...He suppressed Sukuna?"
Before the shock could fade, a calm yet cheerful voice broke through the tension.
"Yo~ Megumi. You're making that scary face again. You'll get wrinkles before thirty."
Megumi spun around. "Gojo-sensei!"
Gojo Satoru stood there casually, hands in his pockets, his blindfold gleaming under the flashing lights. "You really let things get wild while I was gone, huh?"
Megumi clenched his jaw. "He swallowed Sukuna's finger. That's him—Itadori Yuji."
Gojo's teasing grin shifted to mild curiosity as he observed Yuji, who was still catching his breath. Then, his smirk returned."So this is the kid, huh? The one who actually lived after eating Sukuna? How interesting~."
Yuji looked up nervously. "Uh... are you my executioner or something?"
Gojo chuckled. "Executioner? Nah. More like your new teacher. But first, let's test something fun."
He turned to Megumi, ignoring his disapproving sigh.
"Let's let Sukuna out for ten seconds."
Megumi froze. "Sensei, that's insane—"
"Ten seconds won't kill anyone." Gojo winked. "Probably."
Yuji hesitated. "If... if it'll help, I'll do it."
The next instant, the atmosphere cracked like glass. Red tattoos spread across Yuji's face as Sukuna's laughter returned, louder and darker than before.
Sukuna didn't wait. With a monstrous roar, he vanished, reappearing mid-air with a curse-enhanced punch that shattered the rooftop barrier like glass. A shockwave erupted, hurling debris everywhere.
"GOJO-SENSEI!" Megumi yelled, shielding his eyes.
Smoke and dust filled the air. Sukuna laughed, his claws dripping cursed energy. "So this is the strongest? Pathetic."
Then the dust cleared—revealing Gojo, standing unharmed, still with his hands in his pockets.
"Oh, that? You actually made me move a little. Congrats~."
Sukuna's grin faltered. "You mock me?"
Gojo shrugged. "You mock yourself with those swings."
Sukuna lunged forward, his blows a blur — claw, kick, slash — but Gojo effortlessly dodged each one, teleporting just inches out of reach every time. His movements were elegant, almost lazy. Sukuna snarled, his pride wounded, and tried to land a direct hit.
Gojo caught his wrist mid-air. "Careful now."
With a single flick of his hand, he sent Sukuna flying into the terrace wall, breaking concrete and steel like paper. Megumi's eyes widened at the sheer force.
"annoyance!" Sukuna roared, standing up from the rubble, aura flaring crimson.
Gojo raised his hand, smiling. "Aaand... ten seconds."
Sukuna's body stiffened, then crumpled as Yuji retook control, collapsing onto the ground.
Gojo crouched down, peering at him. "You're a wild one, kid. But congratulations — you're still alive."
Yuji breathed heavily, clutching his chest. "That... was... horrible."
"Welcome to the world of Jujutsu," Gojo said with a grin.
As Yuji looked over the terrace, the sight below chilled him — paramedics rushing his injured friends out, news drones circling, NCD agents cleaning up the curse remains.
"Can I see if they're okay?" he asked weakly.
Gojo stood up. "They'll be fine. The NCD will take care of it. You, on the other hand, have an interview with destiny."
He waved, and a black car emblazoned with the NCD insignia pulled up at the gate below.
As they descended the ruined staircase, the world outside was already exploding.
