Chapter 52 - Chapter 52: Floating Islands and the Fairy Hunter!

"Wha- what...?"

Hearing those words, Levy's eyes widened in an instant, and she stared at the two of them blankly.

He was gone for a whole night!

Why have the two of them already arranged to team up for a mission, for three whole days...

"I'm sorry, little Levy~" Mirajane clasped her hands together and bowed, her face full of apology. "Because it's something important, I'll need to borrow Roland for a while."

"When I get back, I'll bring you a present!"

"It's... it's fine, Mirajane!"

Levy quickly waved her hands, indicating that she didn't mind.

After calming her complicated feelings, she looked up at Roland and asked the question in her heart, "But, what mission are you two going on? Mirajane hasn't been out in a long time, has she?"

To be precise, ever since Lisanna's death, Mirajane, who had lost her magic power, had never taken another request.

"Well, it's something like a travel mission. We'll admire the scenery here and there, and then look for someone..." Roland took the fruit juice Levy was drinking, took a sip from the straw, and said softly.

"It's mainly to find someone. Admiring the scenery is just a bonus!"

Mirajane gently corrected him.

"A search request, huh." Levy's face showed understanding, and then she couldn't help but ask, "Then can I go with you?"

"This..." Mirajane blinked, looking troubled.

She really didn't know how to answer this question. After all, only Roland knew the way to the parallel world.

"Not this time."

Roland shook his head decisively, his expression serious. "The place I'm going to is dangerous. It's even possible that the magic power in your body won't be able to be used normally."

"If it's that dangerous, why are you taking Mira—"

"Um, actually, I've recovered my power."

Before Levy could finish, Mirajane interrupted with a smile, extending her right hand, which had taken over a demon's arm, to show her.

What—Mirajane really recovered her power?

Feeling the ominous magic power from it, Levy subconsciously covered her mouth, her amber eyes filled with astonishment.

"Roland helped me recover it."

Before she could speak, Mirajane spoke first.

"..."

So what on earth happened between you two yesterday when I was organizing my dorm!

Levy fell into deep thought.

"Mirajane, could you please let me and Levy be alone for a moment?"

Looking at the blue-haired girl who was looking down without a word, Roland coughed lightly.

"No problem."

Mirajane nodded understandingly, but as she turned, she suddenly leaned in and said in a small voice, "Do your best!"

Do my best? Do my best to get us both in bed?

The corner of Roland's mouth twitched.

As Mirajane left, Levy gradually came back to her senses, her beautiful eyes staring at him as she puffed out her cheeks in dissatisfaction.

It was as if she was angry that he hadn't told her about these things beforehand.

"Sorry, this time there's really a reason I can't let you go~."

Roland pulled the sulking girl into his arms, gently stroking her face with his palm, and comforted her softly, "After Mirajane and I finish our mission, how about we go on a date next time?"

"...So who are you looking for, anyway?"

Feeling the gentle touch on her cheek, Levy couldn't help but blush and quickly changed the subject.

"You'll know in three days. That person will be a big surprise for you, Levy."

"A surprise? I can't think of anyone at all..."

Levy thought carefully but found that there was no one she was particularly looking forward to seeing.

Except for a certain big idiot who had been missing since morning!

"When are you leaving? Tomorrow morning?"

Reining in her emotions, Levy asked.

"In five minutes. Because time is tight... I have to find the person Mirajane is looking for as soon as possible."

Roland looked at Mirajane, who had already packed her luggage and was winking at him suggestively. Clearly, the poster girl was getting a little impatient.

"So soon!" Levy exclaimed in surprise.

"Yeah, my luggage is all ready. Also—this is the key to my place." As he spoke, Roland took the brass key from his pocket and handed it to her.

"I'm leaving Little Doraemon and the egg in the living room in your care."

"Wait, there's an egg in the living room!"

"It's about the same size as Happy's egg. Please help me hatch it!"

"Well then... see you in three days."

Leaving a farewell kiss under Levy's shy and expectant gaze, Roland stood up and walked away from the bar.

"Mmph—you're such a troublemaker!"

Her long, slender fingers touched her lower lip. Although Levy's words were complaining, the slight upturn of her lips proved that the girl was in a good mood.

...

After settling things with Levy, Roland and Mirajane, under the surprised and envious gazes of Wakaba and the others, left the guild with their luggage on their backs.

"Hey, did I see that right... Mirajane is actually going on a request?"

Wakaba stared blankly at the empty doorway and couldn't help but turn to his friend and ask.

"Isn't that a good thing? It proves that Mira has moved on from the incident with Lisanna."

Macao took a sip from his mug and smiled with relief.

In terms of seniority and qualifications, Natsu, Gray, Mirajane, and Erza had all been watched over by these older guys as they grew up.

So, seeing Mirajane go out on a mission after so long, Macao was sincerely happy for her.

"Indeed... then to celebrate little Mira getting over her psychological trauma, Laki-chan, another eight beers!"

Wakaba shouted with a smile, a pipe in his mouth.

"Hey, hey, hey, don't drag me into this just because you're hiding from your wife and not going home!"

Macao said speechlessly.

Although he didn't have a wife, he had a son at home waiting for dinner.

"Shut up, I'm not hiding!"

"Where's Roland? I'm going to settle things with him today!"

Suddenly, the guild door was kicked open, and Natsu shouted with a face full of fighting spirit.

He had heard from Marcus outside that Laxus had challenged Roland, so he had rushed over.

"What a coincidence. He just left on a mission with Mira," Wakaba said, stroking his chin with some regret.

Too bad, he wouldn't get to see Natsu and Laxus lying on the ground together today.

"Tsk... am I too late—wait!"

Natsu suddenly looked up and asked in disbelief.

"Roland went on a mission with Mira?"

Natsu... is so noisy!

Passing by, Levy hugged the magic book in her arms and looked up at the fiery clouds in the sky.

So where should I go next—the girls' dorm, or Roland's bedroom?

Outside Magnolia.

On the quiet, long path, the afterglow of dusk fell like a soft, thin veil.

"This should be far enough."

Roland stopped and took out the two tickets from the four-dimensional pocket attached to his wrist.

This four-dimensional pocket belonged to Little Doraemon and had been temporarily borrowed. All their luggage was also inside.

"How do I get to that Edolas world?"

Mirajane stood with her hands behind her back, her graceful body leaning forward slightly as she looked curiously at the ticket in her hand.

"According to the instructions... you just have to tear it."

Roland handed one of the tickets to the girl beside him, then tore the remaining one in his hand without hesitation.

The next moment, under Mirajane's surprised gaze, Roland's figure suddenly disappeared before her eyes.

"Wait for me—"

She also quickly tore the strange ticket.

Instantly, a strong sensation of falling appeared. The whistling wind blew Mirajane's long white hair upwards, and she subconsciously held down her long skirt.

...In the air?

Mirajane looked down and saw a continuous chain of floating islands, as well as the ground, covered in a deep blue lawn, that was rapidly growing larger.

"What a beautiful world!"

"You idiot... shouldn't you be worried about your safety at a time like this?"

Standing in mid-air, Roland grabbed her arm and pulled her into his embrace, saying helplessly.

Fortunately, he had just obtained the Ulquiorra template; walking in the air wasn't difficult.

"But it's truly dream-like..."

Mirajane wrapped her arms around his neck, her sky-blue eyes carefully observing the surrounding floating islands.

Each island had all sorts of strange plants, and there were even waterfalls cascading down from the edges, with fish occasionally leaping among them.

This—was like a world described in a fairy tale.

Landing steadily on the ground, Roland looked around but saw no buildings.

The place they had landed was just an ordinary floating island.

"Let's rest for the night. We'll look for this world's Fairy Tail tomorrow morning."

The time in the parallel world was the same as in their own. It was already nearing dusk, and a faint moon was hidden behind the clouds.

"Alright."

Mirajane nodded in agreement and volunteered to gather the dead branches on the ground to prepare for camping for the night.

...

As night fell, the two sat around a campfire. Roland grilled the fresh fish he had taken out of the four-dimensional pocket, and they chatted leisurely.

"So Erza is the captain of the empire's knight order in this world?"

While biting into the crispy, tender white fish, Mirajane listened to Roland's explanation of this world.

She was clearly much more interested, especially when he mentioned Erza.

"That's right. Most of Fairy Tail's members died at her hands. She's even known as the Fairy Hunter."

Roland suddenly paused, took out the parchment scroll again, and slowly began to ponder.

I might as well use this thing on Erza's counterpart...
