"...And one more thing."
Yotsuya Miko blinked.
Seeing Arthur deliberately leaving her hanging, she had no choice but to type back:
"What is it?"
Arthur: "If nothing unexpected happens, Miko, you'll soon be gaining a third close sister."
"Ha!!!"
Reading Arthur's reply, Yotsuya Miko froze, eyes wide in disbelief.
Wait—another one?!
Did you go out shopping for them?!
Two women suddenly appeared out of nowhere to share her husband with her... the little jar of vinegar in her heart tipped over completely.
A wave of grievance welled up inside her.
Her nose stung, and her eyes grew moist.
She wasn't like Akashiya Moka.
As a "normal person" in modern society, the values she had grown up with were all about "monogamy."
Of course, she knew Arthur wasn't an ordinary man.
He was a powerful psychic—almost godlike.
Knowing was one thing.
Even if Arthur had been honest with her from the very beginning, and she had prepared herself mentally... she still couldn't help but feel jealous.
Because deep down, if possible, she wanted to have Arthur all to herself.
She would always belong to him.
And he would always belong to her.
Just then, another message popped up from Arthur:
"Her name is Tohru. She's actually a dragon. She was seriously injured and on the brink of death—I saved her."
"...A dragon!"
Seeing this, Miko, who had just been sulking over jealousy, was stunned again, her eyes widening in shock.
Her heart trembled.
Who would have thought—each new companion Arthur introduced her to was stronger than the last?
First a vampire. Now a dragon.
Not a single one of them was even human!
Ring ring ring~~~
Arthur sent her a video call.
Miko's eyes flickered. She bit her lip lightly.
After a moment of hesitation, she swiped her finger across the screen.
She picked up.
And turned the volume down.
"…Hey, what do you want? |_?)"
Miko's tone carried a bit of moodiness.
From the background, it looked like Arthur was in the living room on the first floor.
Catching her expression, Arthur narrowed his eyes slightly, thought for a moment, and faintly guessed the reason.
"You're jealous?"
"I'm not."
Miko's eyes flickered.
"You totally are."
Arthur's lips curled into a smirk.
Then he deliberately sniffed the air a few times, pretending to look puzzled.
"That's weird. If you're not jealous, then why does it smell so sour around here?"
"You…"
Miko's cheeks flushed, and she glared at him.
Arthur chuckled at her reaction. "Come on, Miko, my dear wife. Don't be jealous. I'm doing this for your sake."
"!!!"
Hearing him call her wife, Miko felt an involuntary burst of happiness inside.
But then the second half of his words hit her like a slap.
"For my sake?!"
You found yourself two other women, and you're saying it's for me?
Do you even hear yourself?!
A wry smile tugged at her lips as she glared at him.
Arthur put on a solemn expression. "Of course it's for your own good. Don't rush to argue—listen first."
"Fine. Say it."
Miko let out a laugh.
Turns out, when people are really speechless, they actually laugh.
Arthur smiled faintly. "It's just... every time you play fighting games with me, it's way too hard on you."
"You always give up so quickly."
"So, I thought I'd find someone to share a little of that pressure with you."
"Now, isn't that for your sake?"
"You…"
Miko's face turned bright red, her heart a tangled mess of embarrassment and anger.
She was at a total loss for words.
Never did she imagine Arthur could be so shameless—actually saying such things with a straight face!
"How about this then?"
Arthur's eyes curved with mischief.
"As long as, whenever you play games with me, you don't beg for mercy, I'll try not to take in any more companions. Deal?"
"…Fine, you said it!"
Miko hesitated, then bit her lip and forced herself to sound tough.
"You're serious?"
Arthur narrowed his eyes slightly.
"I…"
Miko faltered again.
But before she could find another excuse, Arthur laughed and said:
"Since you're so confident in yourself, then why don't I come over right now? We can settle it once and for all."
"If you win, I'll keep my word."
"But if you lose…"
He trailed off without finishing.
Miko of course knew what that implied.
"The choice is yours."
Arthur's smile deepened as he looked at her.
"I…"
Miko parted her lips, her gaze flickering, unable to speak.
She wanted to try.
But she was afraid she might not survive trying.
Just remembering the last time she played with Arthur, her body went weak, and her cheeks flushed pink.
So fierce, so unyielding.
She both loved it and feared it.
"…Tch, fine, you win."
After struggling for a while, Miko finally gave in. She glared at Arthur, her eyes full of grievance.
"My wife is so magnanimous. Give me a kiss."
"Arthur blew a playful kiss at the camera."
Arthur puckered up exaggeratedly at the camera.
"Hmph, no way."
Blushing, Miko rolled her eyes at him.
Arthur chuckled. "Why don't you come over tonight?"
"…Forget it."
"I can't keep using 'going to Hana's place' as an excuse forever. Besides, my mom's off work today, and I want to spend time with her."
Miko's eyes flashed with a trace of shyness as she guessed what he was implying, but after a short hesitation, she shook her head.
"I see. Fair enough."
Arthur didn't push further.
They chatted a bit more.
After the call ended, Miko spread her arms and lay back on the bed.
Staring blankly at the ceiling, she slowly drifted into thought.
Then she remembered Arthur had found two new companions.
Bad idea.
The more she thought about it, the angrier she felt.
Clenching her teeth, she grabbed a plush doll, imagined it was Arthur, and started smacking it around.
"Stupid Arthur."
"Big, fat, two-timing scoundrel."
