Two days later.
Because they had not docked for supplies in a long time, the provisions brought from Foosha Village and stored in the warship's hold were gradually running low.
Without supplies, naturally, they couldn't continue sailing these seas.
The ocean was ever-changing.
No one could guarantee…
whether they might suddenly encounter fog and temporarily lose their bearings.
In such circumstances,
adequate supplies were a must!
Thus,
at Garp's command,
The warship began heading toward the nearest island.
That island was called—
Loguetown!
Conveniently,
Garp also had business at the Marine branch in Loguetown. So they could resupply and handle his errands all at once.
After sailing most of the day,
finally—
From the deck, Kai caught sight of an island on the horizon.
"So that's Loguetown?"
He narrowed his eyes, gazing at the bustling island ahead.
Loguetown—known as the Town of the Beginning and the End.
It was the birthplace of Pirate King Roger,
and also the place where Roger was executed.
Furthermore,
Loguetown was the last island of the East Blue before entering the Grand Line!
In most cases,
pirates arriving here came brimming with ambition, ready to set off for the Grand Line.
Of course,
Marine warships didn't need to go up Reverse Mountain's raging currents.
To enter the Grand Line from the East Blue, they only needed to cross the Calm Belt.
That was something pirates could never imitate.
Gradually,
The massive warship, under careful control, drew closer to Loguetown's harbor.
Upon arrival,
The sheer size of the warship instantly drew countless gazes.
The harbor was already full of merchant ships unloading cargo.
As the warship approached,
Many workers stopped what they were doing, staring in awe at the behemoth before them.
At last—
anchors dropped,
the ship halted.
The warship rested at the docks.
At Bogard's orders,
a group of Marines followed him into Loguetown to purchase supplies.
The rest remained aboard to guard the ship,
in case some reckless pirates dared sneak aboard and cause damage.
"Kai, boy, you're free to move about."
"Now that we're in Loguetown, feel free to explore. This town's fairly prosperous, you'll find anything you want. Buy whatever catches your eye."
"I'll be heading to the Marine branch."
Garp said with a smile, handing Kai a thick wad of berries.
It was no small sum.
Easily over a million!
More than enough for Kai to splurge as much as he pleased in Loguetown.
With that fortune tucked in his arms,
Kai leapt down from the warship, strolling leisurely toward Loguetown, eager to see its streets and people.
Watching him go farther,
Bogard, just stepping onto the docks, asked cautiously:
"Vice Admiral Garp, shouldn't we send someone to protect Mr. Kai?"
At this,
Garp gave him a look as though he were a fool.
After a long pause, he finally spoke:
"You think there's anyone in Loguetown who could threaten that brat's life? Don't forget—two days ago, he already mastered the Rokushiki."
"In this old man's opinion…"
"With Kai's strength, you could call him invincible in the entire East Blue! He could walk sideways wherever he pleases!"
"Unless he stumbles upon one of those extremely rare old monsters in hiding, his power already makes him the strongest in the East Blue!"
"Even in the first half of the Grand Line, a Kai who has mastered the Rokushiki is no weakling."
"In this situation, I'd say it's already fortunate if he doesn't stir up trouble. As for anyone else daring to provoke him? They'd better pray their deaths aren't too miserable."
Exactly as Garp said.
With his current strength, Kai was invincible in the East Blue!
It was enough that he didn't go looking for trouble.
Who would dare mess with him?
And if they did…
it would be their funeral.
Hearing this, Bogard flushed in embarrassment. He instantly realized how laughable his earlier concern had been.
Worried that Kai might encounter danger in Loguetown?
How absurd!
Forget little Loguetown—
even in the whole East Blue,
there wasn't a pirate crew alive that could threaten him!
"Vice Admiral Garp, I was out of line."
Bogard gave a wry smile.
"Go on then, don't waste too much time in Loguetown."
"Take care of the resupply."
"I'll head to the Marine branch first and take care of some matters."
"Loguetown…"
"What a nostalgic place."
Without looking back, Garp walked off.
The enormous warship,
in moments, was nearly deserted—
save for a hundred or so Marines left to guard it against petty thieves.
Meanwhile—
Kai, carrying over a million Berries, strolled alone through the bustling streets of Loguetown.
The harbor wasn't far from the city center,
so within minutes, he arrived at the heart of the town.
Shops lined both sides of the streets—
clothing stores,
jewelry stores,
weapon shops,
fruit stands—
all dazzling and plentiful, flaunting prosperity.
Never having seen such a lively town before,
Kai's curious eyes darted about,
taking in every detail.
Only four years old,
neatly dressed and wide-eyed with wonder—
He looked for all the world like a naive child fresh into the world.
And then—
with that wad of Berries in his arms, completely unconcealed—
He naturally drew many covetous, greedy stares.
Among them,
three stood out—
their gazes brimming with naked greed, unrestrained.
And once these three appeared,
they immediately cowed the others lurking in the shadows.
"I saw clearly just now."
"That kid came from the harbor."
"Clearly, he's not from here!"
"Look at his clothes, his pampered look—he's probably some noble brat."
"Did you see? He's carrying over a million berries! If a kid can carry that much alone, then his family must be loaded!"
"If we can nab him, then use his life to threaten his family… We'll be set for life!"
"Brothers, let's do it!"
"This is a fat sheep! Don't let him slip away!"
Greedy voices whispered from the shadows.
Meanwhile,
Kai continued wandering through the lively streets of Loguetown,
taking in its unique culture and sights.
He passed weapon shops,
strode past grand casinos,
and even stood before the very execution platform where Gol D. Roger had met his end.
Indeed,
the old execution platform drew a huge crowd of people—
tourists staring up in awe at the landmark of Loguetown.
For years,
countless outsiders had flocked here for the sole purpose of seeing the site where the Pirate King was executed.
Kai only lingered a short while
before turning away.
In short,
He walked across half the town by himself.
Gradually,
he began to notice something.
At some point…
a few figures had begun tailing him.
"Looks like…"
"They've taken me for a fat sheep."
"How amusing."
A glint flashed in his eyes, a smile tugging at his lips.
With a single thought—
the surging power in his body gathered into his feet.
In the next instant—
Kai unleashed Soru.
"Soru!"
