Chapter 48 - Does Shredder Call the Cops?

Inside the "Titan Crucible," a deep, deadly silence reigned, broken only by the faint green glow of emergency exit signs. The air was thick with the scent of disinfectant, blood, and the indescribable, putrid stench of biological experimentation.

Goo Ja-yoon walked ahead, violently smashing through a heavy alloy door. A vast experimental chamber opened before her—and a colossal, armor-plated monster, having partially broken its restraints, let out a deafening roar!

"ROAR—!"

The room was not a corridor, but a massive, enclosed test field! A huge, heavily muscled creature, its hide covered in irregular bone-like plating, was struggling against a gargantuan containment rig. The power outage had obviously disrupted the containment field, and the monster was fighting to shed its final shackles.

It sensed the intruders, snapped its head around, its compound eyes blazing with savage killing intent, corrosive slime dripping from its mouth.

"Ja-yoon!" Hawk's warning came through the earpiece.

Goo Ja-yoon reacted instantly. Moving at impossible speed, she sprinted toward the core terminal array deep inside the lab, brutally plunging a specialized "key" device—equipped with a physical interface and data transfer module—into the server's main port.

"Interface connected... acquiring permissions... remote copy starting."

With that done, Goo Ja-yoon turned toward the behemoth charging madly at her, a hint of bloodlust flashing in her eyes. Her figure shot out like a cannonball. Her movements were absolute lightning. Before the bone-plated monster's slashing claws could reach her, she executed an unbelievable pivot, and her slender fist, tearing the air with a shriek, slammed precisely into the vulnerable bone seam at the creature's joint!

CRACK!

A bone-shattering, sickening crunch echoed through the chamber.

The monster let out a roar of pain, its attack momentarily stalling. Goo Ja-yoon's form had already wrapped around it like a parasite, her raw physical power and combat skill pushed to the extreme, every strike precisely hitting the monster's neural nodes or weak defense points.

Meanwhile, on the other side, a chilling energy fluctuation occurred. Won-bin cupped her hands, and an invisible, powerful psychokinetic field slammed down like a giant hammer, instantly flattening an astonishingly fast, arthropod-like bio-beast that had lunged from the shadows. Green bodily fluids splattered onto the floor!

Hawk, in the safe house, was oblivious to the fierce fighting on screen. His hands were a blur on the control panel. On the screen, a blue torrent of data streamed like a waterfall, pouring into a virtual storage unit that shimmered with encryption symbols.

TCRI's most sensitive, darkest data—biological technology files, spatial distortion experiment data, unregistered bio-modification sequences, unethical human experimentation reports, astonishing research results on spatial anomaly and unstable wormhole theory, lab personnel lists, and black ledgers of funding sources—everything was exposed to Hawk's view.

BOOM!

Back in the lab, Goo Ja-yoon exploited a momentary lapse after the monster's injury, delivering a fiercely devastating knee strike to its lower jaw. The colossal force nearly ripped the creature's entire head off! The monster's huge body crashed to the ground, twitching a few times before falling still.

Won-bin had also dispatched the last few small guard creatures, her psychokinetic field shielding her from the corrosive splash.

"Copy complete. Physical purge protocol initiated." Hawk confirmed the data transfer and immediately issued the command.

Ja-yoon and Won-bin exchanged a look and swiftly retreated from the server room.

Following the final coordinates Hawk sent, Goo Ja-yoon planted several high-energy thermobaric bombs on the lab's critical support structures and energy core nodes. Won-bin, using her psychokinesis, precisely tossed several vials of lethal biological samples toward the bomb placement sites.

"Withdraw."

The two figures rapidly bolted outward.

RUMBLE-RUMBLE-RUMBLE—!!!

A violent explosion erupted from deep underground. Even above ground, a strong tremor could be felt. Fire and dense smoke burst from the seams of the disguised facility, announcing the complete annihilation of the "Titan Crucible." All illegal evidence, dangerous test subjects, and the entire costly den of sin were physically eradicated.

In the safe house, Hawk watched as the last signal representing the lab vanished from the screen, and the window displaying the structural map for "Prism Dome"—the next target—was opened on the main screen.

"Target 'Titan Crucible' cleared, data acquisition complete. Mission accomplished." Hawk confirmed with the two operators, then turned his attention to the coordinates for "Prism Dome." "Four-hour rest. Next stop: Montana."

Twelve hours later, the "Prism Dome" laboratory met the exact same fate. Blackout, network cutoff, real-time weakness-guided command, Goo Ja-yoon and Won-bin's powerful raid and sweep, Hawk's precise remote data theft, and finally, physical destruction. Though the process had snags—a spatial-shimmering test subject briefly gave Won-bin trouble—Goo Ja-yoon's powerful psychokinesis suppressed and destroyed it, and the result was still perfect.

In TCRI's high-level conference room, Shredder's grim face dominated the screen. The air pressure was terrifyingly low. Two immensely expensive, absolutely top-secret labs, whose locations were known to only a few, had been silently destroyed one after the other. Core data was wiped clean. Who was the enemy? How did they do it?

They couldn't even find any decent evidence of an attack; the sites were just complete, smoking ruins with utterly scrubbed electronic footprints.

Call the police?

Tell them, We were conducting illegal human experiments and spatial weapon research in the middle of nowhere, and an unknown force wiped us out? That would be digging their own graves.

They could only suppress their towering rage and boundless fear, confining the investigation to their most trusted inner circle, while frantically reinforcing security at their remaining facilities, licking their wounds like cornered, injured beasts, and speculating on when the next annihilation would strike.
