Chapter 26 - Lackeys

Strolling through the western zone of the Li family, Ethan felt a lot of curious eyes on him, most coming from members of various branch families .

Ethan ignored them all, there would be time for all that soon enough, what matters now is getting to the Silent Parrot.

Ethan was already coming close on four feet in height, coupled with his unique look of silver hair, piercing blue eyes and face that seemed sculpted by the gods themselves, he made an indelible mark on all those who laid eyes on him.

When he was about a hundred meters from the main towering gate of the Li Family, Ethan heard a loud arrogant call from behind him.

"well, well, well!!"

"look who we have here"

"If it isn't the pampered cowardly son"

Hearing the high pitch, childish voice behind him and what was just said, Ethan had a look of disgust on his face, not for what was said, Ethan didn't care about that.

What was biting at him however, was the cliche nature of it all.

This entire scenario looked like one of those almost compulsory scenes from novels, where the protagonist take a beating from background npc's, is underestimated and continuously looked down upon and bullied and continues to act weak even when he got strong.

'well, fuck all that, I ain't no protagonist, and I have no patience to be looked down upon for being weak by mere ants, thats just stupid'

Ethan slowly turned back to get a proper view of the nonentities that are currently snickering and moving in his direction.

"cowardly son, so you finally left you shelter, well since you've come out, come over here and pay respect by kowtowing five times to your seniors, maybe then I will consider forgiving you for your earlier rudeness"

The leading six year old kid, who looked like a rabbit with two protruding teeth at the front, said this while plastering a smugly arrogant and mischievous smile on his face.

While the other two lackeys of similar ages, had just been snickering non stop and supporting all that was being said by the leading snort nosed brat.

Ethan, looking at these three, and the comically cliche nature of this whole setting, found it amusing , and almost hurt himself laughing when he used identify on the leading kid.

[Name: Li dai]

[Age : 6]

[Cultivation Realm: none]

[Physique: none ]

[Spirit root: earth (low mortal)]

[Comprehension : mortal (low grade)]

[Talents : none]

[Technique's : none]

"how dare you laugh at me, it seems infact you need some beating so that you can recognize mount tai, take it as a lesson from this senior" Li dai bellowed as he launched his attack.

Seeing the puch that was coming at him, Ethan had a look of surprise on his face, not by the punch but by how dumb this Li dai was.

How can you just get straight into attacking someone without knowing thier capabilities ?

Well, common sense dictates Ethan should still be a mortal, same as thses kids, since he's only just a year old, and they are just six year old, but the age of adulthood in this cultivation world is actually ten, so he's just dumb basically, or simply destined to play he's dumb part as a dumb npc.

Ethan stared at the laughably slow punch headed his way, looking like it would take three to four business days for the punch to finally make contact.

He knows these kids must be acting under someone else's instructions, noting thier light purple robes denoting thier stations as mere branch family member, different from the deep purple he was wearing.

They wouldn't just jump into attacking an heir of the family, without having a solid backing.

Ethan could erase these three by simply heaving an heavy enough sigh, but he had a better idea.

Ethan looked around the area and noticed this was quite a secluded location in the western zone and these kids most likely picked this area for that exact reason.

'works for me' intoned Ethan.

All this while, the punch was still advancing, what can you say, the speed of an ordinary mortal compared to a cultivator, especially one who's strength and speed was already at the core building realm was beyond slow.

Li dai had a smug look on his face as his punch connected to Ethan's torso, expecting his punch to bring Ethan to his knees, only to feel his entire wrist shatter like egg hitting a rock.

"Aaaaargh!" a gutteral scream tore through his smug face as he rolled on the floor wailing and crying.

Seeing this, the other two kids faces turned pale and they started urinating themselves as Ethan advanced in their direction.

Ethan released no aura of his, lest he alerts strong forces in the family, but just his presence alone pressed upon these mere mortals that any thoughts of fleeing did not register, they simply remained in place.

Ethan got in front of the crying li dai and bent down, placed a finger on his fore head and began to chant in a foreign tongue while releasing tendrils of spirit qi through the point of contact.

"Yami bodhi, zama, kali tu charlie sheen, dhasmi damha kanye ruhun west"

This was the invocation of one of his immortal technique's he had brought to entry previously but required spiritual qi to execute properly and can only be used at its current level on mortal minds.

[System Remark: Professor X ?! ]

Ethan sifted through Li dai's memories, saw his short life story, got to know who his parents where and also who had sent him after Ethan.

"Li shafeng ?! , so he's the first son, and my half brother"

" you actually sent apprentice thugs my size to come and actively torment me secretly in the family till am later rendered useless"

"how caring of you, and I will make sure to return that care soon enough"

Ethan had a murderous glint in his eyes as he browsed through the instructions given to these boys, which was to continuously pummel him and when he starts cultivating they should also cripple him.

Shafeng could have done all this himself but no direct family members can step into zones that they were not designated to without being invited or having a good reason and they also will be constantly monitored.

Another reason was he just doesn't take Ethan seriously and he thought a group of six year olds should be able to handle a one year old just fine.

"It seems I'll have to find a way to get rid of this senior brother of mine"

no name one and no name two, since Ethan didn't bother remembering thier names, where staring at the convulsing Li dai on the floor, who had only the whites of his eyes showing as he foamed at his mouth due to the sutra technique.

They didn't realize when they got on their knees as every part fo their body was visibly shaking from dread.

Looking at the majestic looking Ethan who had zero reactions on his face as he kept delving deeper into Li dai's memories who was continuously convulsing on the floor.

They had only one thought on both thier minds.

'Demon'

'He's a demon'

'We tried to bully a demon!!'

They couldn't move, they couldn't scream, they just knelt there as dread consumed them, until Ethan stood up from his position, walked over to the two of them and repeated what he did to Li dai.

"You are to continue serving under Li shafeng"

"Yes great almighty"

"and gather any information on Li shafeng and everyone around him in the eastern zone and report to me weekly "

"Yes great almighty"

"from this moment you are my eyes and ears in this family"

"It is an honor great almighty" the three chorussed.

"good , now get the all out of here, I still have a place to be, dai , go take a healing pill secretly before reporting back to my dear half brother "

"Yes great almighty"

Li dai and the other two sprinted away as Ethan started once more on his journey out of the family and towards silent Parrot.

Ethan had twisted himself in thier memories and emotions into something akin to a god, they would even occasionally pray to Ethan and offer incense and worship in private.

' I might have gone a bit overboard with the mind washing, but i need to make thier loyalty as solid as possible.'

Ethan now had a direction for his suspicion for those who had arranged qinger to assassinate him, and he wasn't going to let them come to him again.

'I will get to you all, expose and destroy your machinations and deliver a deserved payback.

'All in a cautious way of course, one can't go about beating a dog without asking who it's master is.'

Hence a need for information before taking action.

These people won't know what hit them.
