Jay's POV:
As cin and i finished the talk we went inside and woah the party I could see so many guest's elders, to teens to small kids I guess this party had everything including section e...
And guess what my seat was with section e great . Just great....
I ignored their stares and moved through the crowd, heels clicking against the marble floor. I could feel the eyes on me—some surprised, some cautious, some… warm.
Calix cleared his throat when I passed. "Hey, Jay—you, uh, look nice."
"Didn't expect to see you here," Edrix added carefully.
The air grew awkward again, thick with words we'd all swallowed months ago.
Then a voice—bright and familiar—cut through the tension.
"Okay, who let this model walk in without warning me?"
Mica.
I turned just in time to see her nearly trip over a balloon in her rush.
"Girl!" she exclaimed, grabbing my hands. "When you said you'd 'make an effort,' I didn't know you meant red-carpet. Look at you!"
I actually laughed, shaking my head. "Stop."
"Never. You're stunning and everyone here knows it."
Before I could answer, Rakki appeared with two mocktails in hand. "Told you she'd pull it off."
They both beamed at me, and for a moment, I forgot the heaviness sitting in my chest.
I sipped the drink, trying to drown the nerves. Mica and Rakki kept the chatter light—complaining about shoes, the playlist, the ridiculous mascot by the cake table. It was a fragile kind of comfort, but it was enough.
And then—
Warm hands covered my eyes from behind.
"Guess who," a voice murmured close to my ear, low and playful.
The room around me fell away for a moment.
My heartbeat stumbled.
That tone—half teasing, half careful—was familiar.... And i guess I had an idea.....
