Chapter 75 - Chapter 75 — The Following Morning

The sunlight spilled gently through the curtains, casting soft patterns across the apartment floor. Birds chirped outside, their morning songs blending with the faint hum of Maple Hollow slowly waking.

Hannah stretched lazily, savoring the calm of the new day. She noticed Emma already at the kitchen table, sketchbook open, pencil moving lightly across the page, though her eyes kept lifting to watch Hannah as she moved.

"Morning," Hannah said, smiling as she poured herself a cup of coffee.

"Morning," Emma replied, her grin warm and quiet. "I made it first, so technically you're behind."

Hannah laughed softly, settling across from her. "Then I'll forgive you. Only because I'm still waking up."

They sipped their coffee in companionable silence, the soft warmth filling the space between them. Outside, the town stirred gently, but inside, the pace felt perfect, unhurried, and full of quiet anticipation.

Emma finally broke the silence, her voice playful. "I think we should make today fun. Do something spontaneous. Something just for us."

Hannah's eyes sparkled with a grin. "I like that idea. Where do we start?"

Emma leaned back, stretching her arms above her head. "Anywhere. Everywhere. Let's see where the morning takes us."

Hannah laughed, feeling the lightness of the day settling in. "Then let's go. Adventure awaits — even if it's just the two of us and the quiet streets of our town."

The sunlight grew warmer, spilling across the walls, as they finished their coffee and prepared to step outside. With fingers intertwined and hearts light, the promise of the day stretched ahead, full of laughter, small joys, and the steady certainty that they would face it all together.
