Because of Luo Yu's arrangements, the Elephant Armor Sect had completely fallen silent. In their panic, they had long since forgotten about coveting the Shui Family.
Sect Master Huyan Zhen went to the Spirit Hall time and again, begging for protection and demanding the capture of the thief.
After several large-scale searches, the Spirit Hall still failed to find any trace of Tang Hao. Every attempt ended in failure, and in the end, unwilling to continue wasting manpower and resources, they gave up entirely.
Huyan Zhen, however, no longer dared to return to his sect. He hid outside day after day, fleeing for his life.
A man's reputation was like a tree's shadow.
Though doubts lingered in his heart, fear had already shattered his courage.
Taking advantage of the sect master's absence, Huyan Bawei seized the opportunity to grow unchecked within the sect. He secretly marveled at how terrifying the power of Luo Yu's single sentence was, his fear deepening, treating Luo Yu almost like a god.
Swish—swish—swish!
In a dense forest near Shrek Academy, more than ten cylindrical wooden barrels were hanging from treetops by ropes.
A young girl with a childlike face and peerless beauty stood beneath them. Cute cat ears rested atop her head. She wore tight black clothing that outlined her perfect figure to the extreme—especially her full chest, which looked as though it might burst free at any moment.
Her eyes were focused and sharp, her aura icy and unapproachable. Those large, sparkling eyes were locked onto the barrel formation with absolute concentration.
Suddenly, she moved.
At the same instant, the Nether Spirit Cat martial soul possessed her body. She transformed into a streak of dark light, lightning-fast, passing through the barrel formation in a blink.
The next moment—
Cold light flashed.
Each of the barrels split cleanly at the exact same position, slicing neatly into two halves before crashing to the ground.
"Hah…"
The girl panted heavily. Her chest rose and fell violently, trembling with heart-stopping curves. Her fair, lovely face was flushed red from exertion, beads of sweat forming on her forehead.
Staring at the shattered barrels on the ground, a hint of self-doubt flickered in her watery eyes.
"No… this still isn't enough!"
"I still can't keep up with his pace at all."
She bit her lower lip, longing for harsher training, for greater strength.
Just then, a graceful, delicate girl with a long scorpion-tail ponytail walked into the forest.
"Xiao Wu?"
"Zhuqing, I knew you'd be here."
The two stunning girls sat down on a wooden stump in the woods.
Zhu Zhuqing tidied her disheveled training clothes, while Xiao Wu casually played with her silky hair, swinging her slender legs wrapped in pink stockings.
"Zhuqing, you've been training really hard lately," Xiao Wu said with a sigh.
Zhu Zhuqing gazed into the distance. "Before, I trained because of the pressure from my family. There was always some reluctance."
"But now… everything's different. I've found my goal."
"What goal?" Xiao Wu asked curiously.
Zhu Zhuqing's cold expression faltered for a moment, like someone whose secret had been accidentally discovered. Her small hands nervously tugged at the corner of her clothes.
"It's a secret."
"Alright, alright, I won't pry," Xiao Wu laughed. "Actually, I came to ask you something."
"What is it?" Zhu Zhuqing blinked.
"Do you remember that young man we met at the restaurant last time?"
Zhu Zhuqing had been relaxed just moments ago, a faint smile at her lips.
But the instant she heard that question, her expression stiffened, her body tensing.
"Why bring him up? Didn't you all dislike him?"
"Who said I disliked him?" Xiao Wu waved her hands repeatedly, then looked at Zhu Zhuqing ingratiatingly."Do you know anything about him? Please tell me!"
"I…" Zhu Zhuqing hesitated. She did know—but seeing Xiao Wu's bright, expectant eyes, she suddenly didn't want to say anything.
Xiao Wu stared at her eagerly.
"I—I still have something to do. I'll head out first!"
Zhu Zhuqing flashed away, her speed as a agility-type soul master fully unleashed. In a blink, she vanished.
"What's with her?" Xiao Wu pouted, her peach-colored lips puffed up. Confusion showed on her delicate face, mixed with frustration at not getting any information.
Zhu Zhuqing's thoughts were in chaos. Without realizing it, she found herself back at the entrance of Shrek Academy.
"Zhuqing!"
An excited voice rang out. Dai Mubai jogged over, desire flashing in his evil eyes.
Zhu Zhuqing's gaze met his figure. The coldness on her face deepened instantly. She turned and walked in the opposite direction, but Dai Mubai stubbornly chased after her.
He stepped in front of her, stretching out an arm to block her path.
"Zhuqing, are you still mad at me? It's been so long already. Can't I apologize?"
"Heh."
Zhu Zhuqing sneered and sidestepped him.
From behind, Dai Mubai shouted, "I already apologized. Isn't it time you forgave me?"
Her body trembled slightly. Disgust and impatience filled her face as she turned back.
"Dai Mubai, I hope you stop sticking to me like a piece of dog-skin plaster. I really don't like you."
His once handsome face twisted instantly.
"Don't forget—we have an engagement!"
"Engagement?" Zhu Zhuqing laughed coldly."All these years, have you ever respected it? If you don't even take it seriously, what right do you have to use it to bind me?"
"You're ridiculous."
Boom!
A tiger's roar echoed as Dai Mubai's aura erupted violently. His evil eyes turned blood-red.
"What do you mean, Zhu Zhuqing?!"
She looked at his fury with calm disdain.
"I like someone else. Even though he rejected me… you should give up."
"What?!"
Dai Mubai's eyes widened, blood rushing to his head as madness overtook him.
Zhu Zhuqing was unmoved. The disgust in her eyes deepened.
"I won't say it a second time. Don't interfere in my life again."
"You like that brat, don't you?" Dai Mubai growled, teeth clenched so tightly they nearly bled.
"Who I like is none of your business."
"Just because he beat me, you threw yourself at him?" Dai Mubai sneered.
"Dai Mubai!" Zhu Zhuqing snapped, finally unable to endure his vulgar words.
"Oh? Hit the mark?"
"Let me tell you—no matter how strong he is, he won't amount to anything."
"You saw it yourself. His first soul ring was only ten years. Someone like that can never reach the top, no matter how talented," Dai Mubai mocked coldly.
Zhu Zhuqing stared at him, disappointment filling her eyes.
"You think I'm that kind of person… after all these years?"
"Just wait," Dai Mubai sneered."That guy with his trash white ring can only act tough now. In a few years, he'll get crushed by Xiao San and me. If you bet on him, you picked wrong."
Zhu Zhuqing suddenly laughed—furious laughter that bloomed into a radiant smile.
"What? You figured it out?" Dai Mubai scoffed.
"I'm laughing at your ignorance."
She shook her head and turned away.
Dai Mubai roared, "You'll regret it when I crush him!"
She didn't look back, sighing softly like someone watching a clown.
"Compared to him?"
"You're not qualified."
"In strength… or as a person."
Her final words were barely a whisper, audible only to herself. Admiration and longing shimmered in her eyes.
Behind her, Dai Mubai gnawed his teeth in hatred, slamming a punch into the ground and blasting out a blackened crater crackling with electricity.
"Zhu Zhuqing! I'll prove it to you one day!"
At Tianshui Academy, Luo Yu—currently serving as a sparring partner for the Tianshui team girls—suddenly sneezed.
He rubbed his nose helplessly.
"What's going on lately? Why do I keep sneezing?"
"So many people thinking about me?"
