Chapter-75: blinding the giant serpent monster
It is a tricky position that made the snake annoyed. It tried to slam around but the arrow went deeper instead of falling out. After all, Ratika made the shot with special piercing arrow that pierced deeply.
Since she stayed hidden the snake could not find its target. So it vented its anger on those people that are still there. It hit them and the arrow pierced deeper making it shout loudly with its head held high.
Ratika just happened to look at the scene and took the opportunity to make another shot with piercing arrow into the eye that is visible from her side. She made a precise shot and when screaming it would not move to the side.
It is once again a stationary target. She directly shot the arrow into the eyes and took another arrow ready to shoot again into the same eye because at this point it would scream again because its eye got pierced.
Ratika was right and it screamed even louder after its eyes got pierced. Now another arrow pierced its already injured eyes making the wound deeper. Ratika once again hid after noticing that her place is not compromised.
After all the eye of the snake facing her was blinded by two arrows. It cannot notice her. Others that are still alive have run quickly towards the stairs escaping the disaster without caring for the crippled or unconscious people.
Ratika did not peak at this moment as she felt that the snake has turned its head towards her from the other side to use its only remaining eyes to watch the location of the entrance to the boss room. Its blood is constantly flowing out.
Its HP is decreasing during this time. Without a target in the room it cannot do anything. Before tenth floor the creatures would not leave its room to follow the target. Even later they would follow the target for a distance if the target is still within their visible range.
If the target is not in visible range for 5 seconds then it would forget about the target and return back to the base room of the monster and guard the room as usual. Ratika was really fortunate because if this is really a wild creature then he will have no place to cry.
After hiding for a few moments the snake once again forgot what it was looking for. It is a monster creature that did not have any appetite. It will not eat humans because it is hungry. Instead it ate humans as a form of attack.
The dead bodies on the ground have long since pushed out of her target range. Instead the half dead people that still have part of life left became its target. They could not move because of broken bones.
"Jessica, help me. I know you are there…."
"Help me…., Ahaaa…"
Those people started to scream trying to ask Ratika for help through various ways including bribing, seducing and threatening… unfortunately Ratika was not moved by this at this moment. She is actually looking for an opportunity to shoot the other eye of the snake.
Also she wanted to shoot the other jaw line of the snake. This way she doesn't have to worry about the other arrow at the jaw line being loose and it can bite. Other than that blinding it would give Ratika more time to make the shots from close range with higher accuracy.
So she waited for the snake to move around. When the angle is right she shot it. She was not tempted by those cries of the dying people that are being rammed and squeezed by the snake monster at this moment.
She succeeded in shooting when the snake stopped and she got the chance to make two more shots to make it blind and jam its jaw completely. This has solved the main problem. So she doesn't have to worry about many things.
Its sensory field is in a mess at this moment because of the hits of the important areas of important senses like vision and audio like the internal listening structure connected to the jaw line.
Ratika did not stay outside any longer. As the snake is having a fit and there are no more witnesses Ratika directly took out the crossbows and other things to shoot the snake in a single wound area.
Yes she did not shoot all over its body instead her target is to increase a single wounded area as much as possible. With that things started to turn into a better direction. Ratika did not stay in a single place to shoot.
She started to move from place to place to shoot the snake in a circular big wound right below its head area. The blood flowed out as it HP dropped really quickly with many attacks and fatal attacks killing it at the end.
As soon as the huge snake fell Ratika saw a sack of dungeon coins on the side that just fell fresh. She was overjoyed and went to pick it up. After picking it up she started to kill all the remaining people that are still alive.
She looted their stone chests and also looted the bodies of the dead and left them without a care. She made her way towards the treasure chest that was previously protected by the snake monster.
This is a bronze treasure chest. Because the snake is strong the treasure chest should be good. Ratika went to pick its lock but after picking up the lock she did not open it instead she first went to collect the body of the snake.
The reason for this is that she doesn't know what kind of trap would be triggered from the treasure chest. If it is a poisonous or fire trap she was not sure if she can save the body of the snake monster.
