Chapter-34: Hello I am Jessica…
Robert looked carefully into the room to see the two dead goblins with spear injuries and there are no arrow injuries. Seeing this he felt that Ratika might not be the one that actually killed his monsters and took the benefits.
Since it is not Ratika then he quickly went to find the other rooms. That is on the other side of the pathway that originally belongs to Ratika. When he left Ratika did not go out to meet him instead she quickly opened the wooden treasure chest.
"Sui… Sui…"
Immediately another two arrows shot out and Ratika felt angry. She collected the contents and only showed a bottle of water and a pack of meat buns that she got out of the wooden treasure chest for show.
She collected the arrows and went to see the situation with the slimes. What she did not expect is that the two slimes combined together to digest the body of Jeff very quickly and they actually upgraded to level 6.
Ratika was stunned. The slime is now 1.5 meters wide and looked like a giant. Fortunately the core that just upgraded was slightly visible and Ratika used a net to fish it out of the body of the slime quickly.
As soon as she got the core she took several steps back because the slime liquid is more acidic in nature and touching it would cause severe burns. As soon as the core was removed the slime became a puddle of acidic liquid.
Then it quickly sank into the ground leaving a strange acidic smell that is quite pungent. Ratika went to open the stone treasure chest. Previously he snatched the dungeon coin sack from Jeff before he died completely.
Now she just put the things inside and collected the materials from the adventures stone treasure chest. There are not many good things but Ratika actually found a skill experience book that can give 500 experience points.
Ratika put it in her space and quickly went the corridor again. This time she saw someone walking from the passage way on the left that is from the pathways of her and protagonist Robert should have gone.
Soon Robert came over with gloomy face. He did not know that Ratika has hoodwinked him but he intuitively felt that he missed something. Ratika now carried the steal spear, a bottle of water along with a pack of meat buns.
She looked at Robert and listened to his inner voice. (Is she the one that killed the monsters on my side and also on the side of the other pathway? But she uses spear and I did not see any bow and arrows on her. I saw the other rooms and they are not cleared yet.)
Listening to the inner voice of Robert, Ratika introduced about him. "Hello I am Jessica… I found that the pathway ahead into the boss room was cleared. Are you the one that did it? You should be an ace adventurer to clear the path quickly…"
Ratika praised him after introducing herself as "JESSICA" this is the identity she wanted to be called from here because this would give her extra layer of protection. Robert felt that some of his vigilance is reduced after looking at the eyes of Ratika that has admiration.
(It might not be her. I should find the person and see what she got from the boss monster room. But, if she can get to the boss room so quickly and take things she should be powerful.) Robert thought in his heart.
"I am Robert. I am a security guard. I am not the one that cleared the boss room. It must be someone else. I am looking for that person to know what he got from the boss room treasure chest." Robert said to Ratika.
"Any way you look strong and you might have cleared it faster than me. Why don't I become your subordinate and form a team to solve the monsters. It would be better to have a team than going alone." Ratika suggested.
Well it will happen even if she wanted to or don't want to. It is not like she can kill everyone she sees in the future. At most she can kill few people with her wits and fast moves. So she has to keep a low profile and get the things done.
She was not worried that she would lose the extra benefit and find the secret of the dungeon refresh. There are others that know this secret. But knowing it is useless. Without enough food, no one would dare to stay here and try dungeon refresh.
After dungeon refreshes the monsters are stronger. So they don't dare to take the risk easily. Fortunately Ratika can be an exception to this as she has enough food and weapons to go along with the hunting.
But she has to time the things carefully so that others would not find out about her situation before she become strong enough at the very least. After she became strong she doesn't have to depend on these people.
(It is good to form a team. I can use my strength to fight but there are always problems. I play few RPG games before and know the need of a party in a dungeon. Should I agree to her or check for a while before agreeing.) Robert thought in his heart looking at Ratika.
After few moments Robert finally nodded his head and said. "Okay, we can form a team and fight together. Now let's go and clear the final rooms of others so that we might get their treasure chests…"
With his suggestion Ratika followed him. Ratika knows that following this protagonist would have benefits and also risks. That is right usually it is the cannon fodder supporting characters that would die in critical situations.
