Firstly, volume 2 starts at four years later. I didn't want to waste time writing about those years.
Secondly, Jian Wei and Jian Rui couldn't bring down Lord Leung's empire immediately because that would alert their father so they are chipping away at it slowly and to avoid suspicion Jian Ci has to keep the relationship with Alarna going. Jian Ci is in the dark though.
Thirdly, Alarna and Jian Ci are in a relationship in name only. There is nothing between them and the moment Jian Ci imprinted on Yu Xi, he can't stomach being close to any guide. He strongly feels resistant.
Fourthly, Alarna will be kicked to the curb the moment her father's empire crumbles to dust and its real soon. So please don't worry.
