The warmth tightened into a focused tide and his breath caught for a single, calm instant. For a second the world felt thin, as if the air had been pulled close to his skin.
Then the pressure eased and something inside him rearranged.

A sound fell in his ear as he slowly opened his eyes, then nearly fell over. "Wha—Hah?! I'm already in the First Layer? Just like that? That's... that's too damn easy!"
Still some strange thoughts clouded his mind. "But it can't be that easy… there definitely is something strange about this…"
"Huh!" But then, suddenly his eyes knitted together as if he realized something.
