Chapter 67 - The Heir Needed To Be Back

Salvatore paced his study, the city lights a blurry backdrop to his anxiety. He had deployed his best men, led by Angelo, to find Alessandro and bring him home. But time was slipping away, and the reports were grim. The Shadow Wolves were closing in, and Alessandro was running out of places to hide.He picked up a framed photograph of Alessandro as a boy, his heart aching with a mixture of love and regret. He had tried to protect his son from the darkness, to shield him from the violence and betrayal that had defined his own life. But he had failed. Now, Alessandro was paying the price for his sins.Suddenly, the door to his study burst open, and Angelo rushed in, his face ashen. "Salvatore," he said, his voice strained, "we have a problem."Salvatore's blood ran cold. "What is it?" he demanded."We found the cabin," Angelo said, "but it's gone. Burned to the ground."Salvatore's heart skipped a beat. "Alessandro?" he asked, his voice barely a whisper. "Is he…?"Angelo shook his head. "We don't know. There were signs of a struggle, but no bodies. We found evidence that Silas was there, but he's dead. He must have sacrificed himself to give Alessandro and the woman a chance to escape."Silas. Salvatore felt a pang of guilt. He had known Silas years ago, had respected him, even admired him. Now, the man was dead, a casualty of his family's bloody feud."Find him," Salvatore said, his voice filled with desperation. "Find Alessandro. I don't care what it takes, I don't care who you have to kill. Just bring him home. And bring the woman too. If she's important to him, she's important to me."Angelo nodded, his expression unreadable. "We'll find him, Salvatore. I promise you."As Angelo turned to leave, Salvatore stopped him. "Angelo," he said, his voice low, "I need to know the truth. Is there any chance Alessandro is still alive?"Angelo hesitated for a moment, then met Salvatore's gaze. "Yes," he said, "there's a chance. But the Shadow Wolves are closing in. We need to move fast."Salvatore nodded, his mind racing. He couldn't lose Alessandro. He wouldn't let his son die. He would do whatever it took to save him, even if it meant sacrificing everything he had built. He turned to the window, staring out at the city lights. He knew he had made mistakes in the past, that he had caused pain and suffering. But he was determined to make things right, to protect his son, to give him the life he deserved."Get me everything you have on the Shadow Wolves," Salvatore said, his voice filled with a newfound resolve. "I'm going to end this. Once and for all." The game had changed. This was no longer about power or control. It was about family. And Salvatore Rossi would stop at nothing to protect his own.
