Chapter 39 - Records from the Mortal and the Divine: Volume II.

-

Chapter 1: An old woman once sat within the void, surrounded by stars that flickered like candles. In her palm were three small turtle shells for divination. On that day, they cracked and the heavens shuddered. Inscribed in the jade slip of "Prophecies of the Starwoven Grotto"

Chapter 2: The woman wore a pink hanfu, plum blossoms blooming across its fabric. In her hair sat several clips adorned with flowers and jade that chimed softly in the wind. She sat beneath a willow tree by the lake, gazing longingly... Recorded in Immortal Sightings, Chapter Eight, Page Two.

Chapter 3: High above in the firmament, a thunderstorm raged. Lightning of many colors flashed across the heavens, and a lone figure stood there. He raised his arm, a large hammer in hand, drawing the lightning, absorbing all of their brilliance. Recorded in "Immortal Sightings," Chapter Nine, Page Twelve.

Chapter 4: Rain fell upon a scarlet land. A lone man stood beneath the storm, each flash of lightning painting his form in terror and silence. Noted down in "Blood and Thunder," page twenty-one.

Chapter 5: In the doorway stood a middle-aged woman, staring into the empty room. The village was so silent now, their once lively days reduced to stillness. Her heart ached in the quiet.

Chapter 6: A wooden staircase spiraled around the majestic white tree that towered on the floating island, while a waterfall tumbled endlessly into the mist below.

Chapter 7: Qi surged into the blade and he slashed forward. A silence, and then the bamboo fell with a rumble. The young man felt both excitement and horror at once.

Chapter 8: A dragon roared with fury at the fleeing thief. The greatsword on the man's back slowed him down significantly....

Chapter 9: The dragon pursued him relentlessly until he reached a mountain that pierced the clouds. The man finally stopped and shouted.....

Chapter 10: "... ELDEST SISTER, SAVE ME!" The man looked back, laughing as if the dragon had fallen into his trap. ''You're dead'' he whispered with qi, so only the dragon could hear him.

Chapter 11: Suddenly the whole mountain shook. The dragon fled in terror when it heard a melodic sound that came from the top of the mountain.

Chapter 12: The melodic note blazed with power from far above. The dragon froze, but it did not strike him. Instead, it blazed toward the man with the greatsword. He screamed for forgiveness, for he had brought trouble, again...

Chapter 13: The young mortal man swore to his wife that a dragon had danced through the sky, singing and laughing with joy.
