Chapter 9 - New skill comes with a new battle Part: 2

Seeing the monstrous being standing before him, Jaswant closed his eyes for a moment and took a deep breath — as if gathering every ounce of courage within him.

Just then, Kaalkeya clenched his massive fists and suddenly launched an attack at Jaswant. The very dimension around him began to crack and tremble, and with a deafening roar, the blow came straight toward Jaswant.

Sensing the sudden change, a chill ran down Jaswant's spine. He instantly opened his eyes, and the sight of the incoming attack froze his breath for a moment.

It looked as though a colossal shadow of golden light had spread across the horizon — and behind that blinding brilliance, Kaalkeya's hand was descending upon him — massive, terrifying, almost unreal. His skin gleamed like molten metal, his muscles coiled with raw power, and his burning eyes shone with a light fierce enough to pierce souls. Each of his steps made the earth quake, the air trembled with his roar, trees and plants in his path were obliterated, stones shattered — even nature itself seemed to retreat in fear of him.

But amidst this terrifying chaos, there was one thing that dared to shine against the monster — Jaswant's right palm.

The same palm that had engraved the Temple of Lost Memories within itself now began to glow with an intense, sacred light. And just before Kaalkeya's blow could strike him, a brilliant radiance burst out from the small gate inscribed on his palm.

As Jaswant instinctively raised his hand to shield himself, a soft golden light spread around Kaalkeya, and the monstrous attack stopped — barely an inch away from Jaswant.

Had he been even a second late in lifting his hand, the strike would have landed squarely on his head, crushing him in a single blow.

The moment Kaalkeya's attack was halted by that divine light, his rage exploded. He drew back his arm furiously and launched another devastating strike. But seizing that instant — using the distraction and the glare of the light — Jaswant dodged the attack. Yet, the shockwave was so powerful that it pushed him back nearly ten steps before he regained his balance.

Steadying himself, Jaswant quickly used the moment to maintain distance. Before Kaalkeya could strike again, Jaswant raised his glowing hand and attacked from behind — leaping onto the monster's shoulder using the wall for support.

The instant he climbed onto Kaalkeya's shoulder, he wasted not a single second — he placed his hand firmly on the monster's head. The moment his palm touched, his ability awakened — Jaswant captured all of Kaalkeya's memories within the Temple of Lost Memories.

For a brief moment, it was as though time itself stopped. Between demonic power and divine will, the light on Jaswant's palm became a single, unmoving point — calm, focused, and unshakable.

Kaalkeya's power flickered before his eyes, breaking apart into fine golden threads. His movements faltered... and then slowed down.

At that moment, Jaswant truly understood the depth — the terrifying vastness — of his power. He realized he was no longer merely defending himself; he was commanding something far greater. He could touch the essence of another being — its memories, its core, even its existence.

That moment wasn't born of fear, but of awakening. A wave of clarity and confidence surged through him. Jaswant now understood — this power wasn't meant only for defense, nor merely for protection. It was divine, boundless — capable of dominion itself.

Suddenly, Jaswant's energy began to wane for a moment, and Kaalkeya broke free from his grasp. Seeing the monster stir again, Jaswant leapt off his shoulder and immediately created distance once more.

Suddenly a message appears and the system announces:

[Congratulations host, You have successfully awakened the hidden attribute of your psychic ability.]

This surprises him for a moment as he hastly did not read about the hidden attribute. But he immediately puts aside his surprise and focuses back on his fight.

He lifted his gaze toward the demon standing before him.

There was no fear left now — only resolve and the fierce radiance of newfound power. Jaswant took a deep breath.

The small temple symbol on his palm began to pulse with life, its light steady and intense, focusing his energy like a lens. He fixed his eyes once again on Kaalkeya.

The demon roared, tearing through the earth with violent force. Shockwaves shattered trees and stones alike, yet Jaswant stood unmoved.

"Now," he whispered — his voice calm, yet blazing with fury — "witness my true power."

He opened the gate within his palm.

A brilliant beam of golden light burst forth — not wild, but deliberate, carrying within it the power to draw fragments of thought, memory, and soul.

Jaswant focused his mind, his will unwavering. He could feel the very essence of the creature bending to his command.

The Temple of Lost Memories responded.

Around Kaalkeya, a magnificent golden structure shimmered into existence, its light swirling like a vortex of ancient power.

The air filled with the monster's roar as its memories and strength turned into radiant streams — flowing toward Jaswant's palm, where the miniature temple absorbed them in utter silence.

Kaalkeya fought back in fury, but Jaswant's power was calm, pure, and absolute.

Slowly, the demon's might began to fade. Its massive body dissolved into mist and light — until, with one final echoing roar, Kaalkeya was gone — sealed forever within the golden heart of the temple.

The world grew quiet.

The dust settled. The wind fell still.

Jaswant opened his eyes again. For the first time, he felt complete control — power without chaos, strength without fear.

In his palm, the small temple glowed faintly — containing within it the memories, energy, and very existence of the fallen demon.

A faint smile touched his lips.

"Now," he whispered, "I can do far more than just survive… I can command fate itself."

He looked at his glowing hand.

"And this—" he said softly, "—is only the beginning."

As soon as Jaswant said that, a system window appeared, and the system announced:

"Congratulations, Host — you have defeated a Silver-level Kaalkeya.

As a reward, the Host is granted the location of the next fragment of Amaravati: The City of Gods."

Then another notification appeared:

"Installing package…

Installation completed 1%, 2%, 2.5%...

Installation will take more time… please wait a while."

"Seeing that the system would take some time, Jaswant decided to check his status window."

But just the thought of doing that made him feel a bit uneasy.

After all, the last time he had checked his status, he barely had a few skills — and those too at quite a low level.

"That was when he had only recently acquired new abilities, so it was understandable."

Now, the question was — how much had he progressed during these days, and how much stronger had he truly become?

As soon as Jaswant opens the status window, all his statistics become visible in front of him –
