Chapter 1 - Dancing With Trouble

"Hey, stop right there for… I meant freeze in the name of the law!"

An eye catching badge glints in the blue neon lights, as a man with clean appearance, spotting a styled mustache seems to appear out of nowhere.

His uniform looks more of a light battle suit than a standard cop uniform, as textured hexagonal patterns subtly spread across its surface.

A figure garbed in black cloak slowly stopped moving. with its back turned to the cop, both arms rose up gently, as the hoodie was drawn over its head properly.

"That is so unprofessional, officer."

The figure turned around, as the warmly lit alley casts a glinting glow on his face.

"A minor?"

The middle aged cop was quite perplexed, not knowing whether to press charges without consideration.

"Your entire family is a minor!"

The cloaked figure took off his hoodie in annoyance, as a young man with a defined appearance and crazy golden hair was revealed.

"Hey kid, watch your mouth!"

The cop was about to blow a his top, but he cooled of after considering he might be dealing with an underage teen.

"I washed it this morning."

The young man replied with a creepy smile plastered on his face.

The silence seems to stretch on for some moments, and the cop snapped. A cuff was pulled from his side, and without further ado, he walked towards the young man.

"Hey, come on chill.

Did you see me do anything illegal to the terminal?"

The creepy smile never left the young man's face the whole time.

"That's why I need you to come with me for confirmation."

The cop sneered as he clasp the cuffs on the young man's arms, double checking to make sure it's locked tight.

Ping!

Zing!

The cop tapped on his Holo watch, as the projection materialized to form the face of a stern looking man. The fierce aura he gives off makes one feels uncomfortable, despite being just his projection.

"Officer Silver, reporting."

His tone was cautious, as he knew that he couldn't afford to offend this superior of his.

A frown appeared on the man's stern face, causing Silver's blood pressure to spike uncontrollably.

"Affirmative!"

The superior looked around Silver's surrounding, but he couldn't find anything out of the ordinary though.

"A teen was suspected to be messing with the security term.…"

The word got stuck in his throat, making him gulp a big mouthful of saliva to relief the tension.

The spot beside him couldn't be more cleaner, in fact, it was glittering like it was recently polished.

"He, he…"

Silver was completely speechless. What is this awkward situation? Who did he offend to deserve being put on the spot like this.

"Silver Marcus, the instruction was to never bother me with a minor case like this. wasn't it?"

His captains tone was calm, but that's not the feeling Silver is getting currently. It felt like the blade of a guillotine is inching closer and closer to his neck.

If his blood pressure was spiking… Nah, it's boiling over currently, making everything seems like it's twisting out of frame.

Silver wanted to say his suspicion was confirmed, he wished to say he caught the suspect. But his lips felt heavy like they where filled with lead, unable to budge an inch.

Will he even dare voice his thoughts? As that will only reveal his incompetence in this situation. Consequences? He will rather not face them now.

"I understand."

That was the only phrase he could voice, giving a hint to his clumsy personality that seems to buff negative situations.

An aura of negativity which he believes to plague him to no end.

"Do what you need to and find your calling."

The captain's face turned gentle for a moment, but receded almost immediately.

Zin!

The hologram flickered out like a dying ember giving its last light before fading away.

A cloaked figure watched the entire scene from the beginning till the end. He felt a head ache coming, he knew people like silver are quite stubborn, tending to pursue a sense of validation that make them persistent and unyielding.

"Anyways, the experiment is done. Or is it?"

The cloaked figure muttered like a madman, throwing dialogues to himself, and answering it at the same time.

"Stubborn? Nah, you are still learning."

The figure muttered and jumped out of a hidden spot—a compartment that was part of the design of the buildings in that area.

"Alright, I wouldn't make things hard for you this time. Take me to the station."

The same teen appeared before the unfortunate Silver again. Is this a curse, or maybe some unlimited bad luck package he mistakenly opened.

"You are here to moc… You know what? Come with me!"

Silver quickly took out another cuff after finding out there was none on the teen anymore. With a newfound agility and dexterity like he just received a speed buff, he clasped both of the links around the teen's wrist.

"Now move!"

Silver made sure the young man was standing where he could see him before requesting a vehicle.

A black enforcement car with a stylish design and angular style appeared shortly. It's doors opened up like wings, and he walked to the teenager and dragged him into the vehicle.

He almost closed the door, but on a second thought…

"Stretch forth your arms, kid."

Silver looked at the young man coldly with a frosty gaze.

The young man raised an eyebrow in confusion and amusement, then it happened.

Click!

A new pair of cuffs was clasped around his arms in addition to the first one.

"Huh?

Hahahaha!"

The young man tried to hold his belly, but he couldn't, as he cackled out like a madman uncontrollably.

"A new pair? What did you think I am doing with the first one? Chewing them?

Hahaha!"

The teen's laughter irked him, but he also returned a smile of his own.

"You might have something to cry about later though."

Silver menacingly gazed at the arrogant kid, as he couldn't wait to show him what might befall him later, despite the protection act for minors being strictly enforced.

He couldn't be blamed for considering him a minor though, as the young man's appearance is quite deceiving, making him look younger than he actually is.

"How… "

He breathed out heavily to keep his emotions in check, imagine asking a suspect about his information, that's just sick.

Few minutes later the hologram of the young man appeared in the car, as they drove to the station.
