Chapter 45 - The Truth

Night.

Alan Folker and Hela returned directly to their room after dinner.

They seemed to prefer staying in the room, enjoying each other's company, rather than experiencing the bustling city.

In this regard, their personalities were quite similar.

Inside the dimly lit room.

Hela slowly emerged from the bathroom. According to the pregnancy timeline, if the fetus was stable, intimacy was not strictly affected, but the pregnant woman's sensations would be different during this period.

Alan Folker watched Hela approach step by step, then pulled her close, eagerly asking, "Tell me, what secret have you been hiding until now?"

Hela embraced Alan Folker , a conflicted expression on her face, and slowly said, "Actually, today I wanted to confess something to you. I am not human; I am the Goddess of Death from Asgard."

"That sounds interesting. So I married a goddess?" Alan Folker smiled and joked.

Hela knew Alan Folker wouldn't believe her, so she stood up and transformed into her Goddess of Death form, looking at him with a cold expression.

"Now you should believe me, right?" Hela's expression grew somewhat dim as she spoke.

Alan Folker walked to Hela, took her hand, and smiled, "I've always believed in you. No matter who you are, isn't honesty the most important thing between us?"

"Really?" Hela instantly reverted to her gentle demeanor, looking at Alan Folker with surprise and asking in disbelief.

"Of course! I appreciate your honesty, and we have a child on the way. Do you think I would abandon you because of your identity? I'm not that kind of person." Alan Folker touched Hela's pregnant belly and said firmly.

"But, what we have to face is..." Hela's words trailed off halfway. She wanted to say that they might have to face all of Asgard, and even incur Odin's wrath, which wouldn't be something that could be resolved with a few words.

Alan Folker embraced Hela and said affectionately, "No matter what happens in the future, I will be with you!"

Hela's dim expression brightened into a radiant smile. Fortunately, she wasn't facing a scoundrel, but a devoted man. Indeed, Chinese men are very devoted.

With a joyful expression, she leaned in, knowing she had chosen the right man, and was willing to give herself to him... A few days later, in the morning.

A roar broke the peace of New York.

"Boom!"

A thick layer of smoke and dust rose in the distance, as if something had exploded, followed by a raging Fire rising from the ground.

The entire city awoke to this sound, accompanied by shouts from within the city.

Alan Folker and Hela both awoke with a start from their dreams, quickly went to the window, and looked into the distance.

"Ding-a-ling!"

An urgent knocking came from Alan Folker 's door. He walked to the bed, picked up his clothes, put them on, and hurried to the living room.

"Pepper?"

Pepper looked nervous. Seeing Alan Folker , she immediately said, "Mr. Alan Folker , Tony wants to see you. Can you come over now?"

She was breathless, clearly having run over.

Alan Folker nodded, then looked inside the room, "Miss Potts, please help me look after Hela."

As he finished speaking, he went straight to the top floor.

"Hey, Alan, you've arrived at just the right time. Your analysis was indeed correct. The Space-Time Gate has opened, and a large number of Karola troops have emerged." Tony Stark drank juice, looking very relaxed, and brought up the current disaster scenes in the city, analyzing them.

"S.H.I.E.L.D. is already prepared. I think this time, the Karola attack will fail." Alan Folker looked at the video footage and said calmly.

"Indeed, but there have been some variables. Do you remember the explosion in Queens? Look at these three blocks. There was no Space-Time Gate, but powerful energy erupted from the entire ground, almost destroying that area and causing countless casualties." Tony Stark brought up other footage, focusing on the three blocks, where the immense energy and firelight reflected on their faces.

"It's uncontrollable now. We can only deal with the Karola army and the unknown High-Level Carolla." Alan Folker 's face showed no ripples. Anything unpredictable can happen in the Marvel Universe; this is just a small-scale war.

"Currently, three High-Level Carolla have been lost, which has caused them significant damage. If we can kill a few more this time, the power of the twelve great leaders will definitely be weakened."

Tony Stark was shocked to hear this, suddenly realizing that Alan Folker 's mind and analytical abilities were truly strong. He himself was just about to mention this.

"The rest is up to you." Alan Folker patted Tony Stark's shoulder. Now that S.H.I.E.L.D. was fiercely fighting the Karola army, Tony Stark's target was naturally the remaining High-Level Carolla. They needed to wait for them.

Tony Stark smiled slightly, then walked to the hall where the floor descended, and the Mark armor rose.

Mechanical arms rose from the ground one by one, beginning to don the Mark armor.

The movements were fluid, and the entire assembly was completed in one go.

Tony Stark turned to look at Alan Folker , smiling, "When I return victorious, we'll open champagne to celebrate."

As he finished speaking, his face mask dropped, and the eyes on the mask glowed.

"Boom!"

With a fierce burst of Fire, the Mark armor shot up from its spot, soaring into the sky at an extremely fast speed, cutting through the buildings, and disappearing from sight.

Alan Folker stepped forward, looking at the simulated screen, and suddenly fell into thought.

He truly didn't know how many great leaders Karola would send. If it were Shi Guang or Shadow, Tony Stark's power might find it very difficult to cope.

But if it were a Karola with Hulk-like abilities, there might be a chance of winning.

Just then, Alan Folker seemed to sense something and suddenly turned to look at the doorway.

"Loki..."

In the room.

Hela was watching the distant battle when suddenly, her expression tightened, and a blur of motion seized a figure that appeared beside her.

A young man struggled in her hand, his expression terrified.

"Who are you, daring to appear before me!"

"Indeed, it is the Goddess of Death Hela! Very beautiful!" Loki struggled for a moment, his voice low, "My name is Loki, from Asgard!"

Hela's gaze, however, turned cold as she looked at Loki, frowning, "Asgard!"

As she spoke, she forcefully pushed Loki away, looking at him with disdain.

"For our first meeting, I've brought you a gift. Please wait patiently." Loki's voice had a strange laugh, as if he was provoking her.

"A gift?" Hela didn't believe that the Loki in front of her would give her any gift.

She had no good feelings for Asgard, and said coldly, "Disappear from my sight within three seconds, or you will die a miserable death."

Loki showed a strange smile, then vanished in a blur from Hela's sight.

Hela's brows furrowed. She had never expected Asgard to come looking for her so quickly. If this was the case, she wondered if Alan Folker would be in danger.

Pepper, on the side, was pale with fright. She stepped forward and asked tremblingly, "Miss Hela, are you alright?"

Hearing Pepper's voice, Hela's cold expression changed. She smiled and replied, "I'm fine, Miss Potts. I'd like to rest a bit more, thank you!"

Hearing this, Pepper was still a bit worried, but she slowly left the room, gently closing the door for Hela.
