Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: The Pact of the Moon and the Shadow

Chapter 4: The Pact of the Moon and the Shadow

The world had not yet recovered from the clash of divinity.

The skies still bled silver, torn open by Kaguya's fury and my interference. Beneath the dying glow of the Divine Tree, the air hummed with a strange calm — the quiet that always follows the awakening of something greater.

Kaguya stood before me, her white robes torn by battle yet her gaze unbroken. There was a new fire in her eyes — not of hatred, but of curiosity mixed with an emotion she herself did not yet understand.

> [Pact of Balance: Stabilizing — 73% Complete]

[Warning: Unidentified Energies Approaching from Lunar Realm.]

I turned my gaze skyward.

The moon, once serene and distant, now shimmered with red light. I felt it — a ripple, a pulse of ancient chakra that was not Kaguya's. Something old was awakening.

Ainz stepped forward, his hollow voice echoing. "My lord, another realm has stirred. Permission to deploy forces?"

Gojo grinned faintly. "A fight, huh? About time things got interesting again."

Artoria and Albedo stood ready, divine energy radiating from them.

But I shook my head. "No. This isn't a battle. Not yet."

Kaguya's gaze followed mine, her tone cold but cautious. "You sense it too… the remnants of my kin."

"The Ōtsutsuki?" I asked.

She nodded slowly. "No. Older than them. The first shadows before my kind took form. The ones who watched us fall from the stars — the Xyntrix."

The system flickered violently in my vision.

[Origin: Pre-Divine Era. Status: Hostile.]

Before we could speak further, the world darkened.

A tear opened across the moon — a rift spilling black fire and violet light. Out of it descended three figures, wrapped in cosmic armor and shadowy veils. Their very presence warped gravity, their eyes burning with symbols older than chakra itself.

"Found you," one of them said, his voice calm yet echoing like thunder. "The False God who bends time, and the Mother who betrayed the Divine Line."

Kaguya's expression turned sharp. "You dare speak of betrayal when your kind abandoned the Celestial Order?"

The being smiled faintly, lifting his hand. The space around him shimmered with raw void energy. "Balance… is a lie. Creation requires chaos."

> [System Warning: Entity Detected — "Xyntrix Prime: Kael'Thyr"]

[Power Level: Beyond Measurement.]

Gojo stepped beside me, Infinity coiling like an ocean around his form. "Yeah, that's gonna be a problem."

Artoria gripped her sword, divine flames rising. "Orders, my lord?"

I stared at Kael'Thyr and the two behind him, feeling the weight of something cosmic pressing against my very soul. Then, I smiled.

"Formation A. Protect Kaguya. No mercy."

The battlefield exploded into chaos.

Ainz unleashed a black sun that devoured energy itself. Gojo blurred through space, clashing with a Xyntrix warrior whose body was pure antimatter. Artoria's sword split the sky, carving light into the darkness.

And Kaguya — no longer restrained — unleashed her true might. The God Tree's roots erupted, consuming the earth and sky, wrapping around the invaders with celestial fury.

But Kael'Thyr only laughed. "You still don't understand, child of the fruit. You cannot kill what time itself cannot remember."

His form dissolved into shadow and reappeared behind me, his hand pressed against my chest. The void screamed.

> [System Breach Detected — Core Integrity 89%]

I grabbed his arm and whispered, "Then I'll make time remember you again."

> [Skill Activation: "Chrono Seal — The Eternal Lock."]

The world froze again — but this time, even the gods struggled to breathe. Kael'Thyr's body turned to crystal light, locked within a sphere of temporal fire.

> [Enemy Temporarily Contained: Duration — 24 Hours.]

I fell to one knee, the divine energy scorching through my veins. The system flickered weakly.

Kaguya knelt beside me, her eyes wide. "You sealed him… even the Ōtsutsuki never could."

"Temporary," I breathed out. "He'll break free soon. We need to prepare — all of us."

The system buzzed with faint light.

> [New Protocol Initiated: Pact of the Moon and the Shadow.]

[Objective: Form Alliance Between Earth's Goddess and Lunar Realm Entities.]

I looked up at Kaguya. "You wanted control. I wanted balance. Now we need both."

Her gaze lingered on me for a moment longer — and then she nodded, slowly. "Then let us build a world worthy of gods."

The war of the first era was no longer a dream — it had truly begun.
