Chapter 10 - Dungeons

Ava and his team moved from class to class, each lesson blurring into the next.

Still nothing, he thought. Every teacher… I scanned their aura. None of them are the one. Maybe the person controlling the demonic eye isn't even a teacher. Maybe… they're not even in the school at all. And just summoned that eye to follow me.

They stepped into their next classroom and Ava's eyes narrowed.

Professor Gorath Valoron.

One of the head teachers of Dark Lord Academy. Known for being strict, powerful… and ruthless.

Gorath stood tall at the front of the room, arms folded behind his back.

"It's time to test your swordsmanship," he announced.

A few students groaned.

"I don't even have a sword!" someone complained.

"That's fine," Gorath replied without emotion. "You'll be choosing one today."

The ground rumbled.

The classroom walls shimmered then vanished.

In an instant, the students stood in a massive arena carved from dark stone.

Statues of the Dark Lord towered over them, lining the endless halls.

And ahead of them…

A colossal portal-door pulsed with dark energy.

Gorath's voice echoed.

"This… is one of the Dungeons of Dark Lord Academy."

Murmurs exploded around them.

"A dungeon?!"

"No way…"

"I hate these!"

"Why again?!"

Those who had done one before looked pale.

Gorath continued, calm and merciless.

"This dungeon is unlike any other… it contains infinite multiverses within it. Your goal is simple conquer."

He raised a hand and the air trembled.

"Conquer planets… or better, galaxies.

Conquer universes… or better yet, entire multiverses."

The students froze in awe.

"Scattered throughout these realms are high-level monsters… and even Dark Lord warriors placed here specifically to test you."

His eyes glowed with cruel expectation.

"Overcome them… or be crushed. That is the purpose of this dungeon."

He turned, his eyes cold.

"Whoever conquers most wins."

Dallas swallowed. "entire multiverses?!"

Gorath's gaze swept across them.

"Your teams will stay together. All your points will be combined."

A sigh of relief went through the students.

"But," he added, "there is a catch."

Silence.

"There are multiple swords hidden throughout this dungeon. You must find one first. Only then will your points count."

He stepped aside, letting the massive dungeon door loom over them.

"Every enemy you defeat… and every planet you conquer… will earn your team points," Gorath declared, his voice echoing through the arena.

"But listen carefully," he continued, eyes narrowing. "If you defeat your enemies with a sword, you will earn extra points."

He paced slowly in front of them.

"You will also gain more points for conquering a planet… than destroying it. The Dark Lord values control, not mindless ruin."

The students grew tense.

"And finally," Gorath said with a faint smirk, "if you destroy another team and force them out of the dungeon sending them back to class you will gain a large bonus to your score."

He stopped walking.

"Use your blades. Conquer wisely. Eliminate threats. That… is how you win the dungeon."

A few students cursed under their breath.

"I will test both your swordsmanship… and your ability to conquer worlds for the Dark Lord."

Ava listened carefully, arms folded.

Dallas leaned closer. "This sounds scary… Other teams can attack us, right? What if we lose?"

Demeter smirked confidently. "We're not going to lose." She pointed toward herself and Star. "We've done multiple dungeons together. We stick together, we work well as a team. Most people here don't."

Star nodded. "Plus, we already have our swords from last year."

Ava raised a brow. "What does he mean by 'conquer worlds'?"

Star glanced at him. "The Dark Lord and his warriors create these dungeons using real universes entire Infinite multiverses, even. They place real planets inside so we can practice conquering them for him. So when the real war begins… we'll already know how to take over worlds."

Ava's thoughts darkened.

The Dark Lord Academy… is nothing but brainwashing.

Teaching children how to become conquerors.

But i have no choice. I have to stay undercover.

He exhaled slowly.

"I'm sure we'll win and get the most points," he said aloud. "But let's avoid killing as much as possible."

Star smiled faintly. "I agree. When Demeter and I do dungeons, we only attack the armies and the Dark Lord monsters, never the regular citizens."

Before Ava could respond, Gorath's voice thundered.

"Enough talking. Go! Conquer for the Dark Lord!"

The massive portal roared open.

One by one, teams stepped through vanishing in flashes of dark light.

Ava exchanged glances with his team.

"Ready?" he asked.

Dallas nodded nervously.

Demeter's eyes burned with determination.

Star rolled her shoulders, smirking. "Let's see what planet we get."

They stepped through the portal together

and the world twisted.

Space folded. Light bent.

Then

They landed on a planet.

A vast, unknown world stretched out beneath a blood-red sky.

The dungeon… had begun.

Ava and his team landed in a wide magic field shimmering with energy.

The ground was dark stone, etched with glowing runes.

Thousands of swords floated upright in the ground, each one different massive, elegant, brutal, ancient, futuristic. The air buzzed with power.

Star stepped forward without hesitation.

Her Grimoire snapped open in midair, pages glowing with pink fire as magic surged through her veins.

She lifted her hand and whispered a spell.

"Manifest."

The spellbook flashed, then vanished and in her grasp appeared The Star Breaker.

The blade was made of pure energy, its brilliance burning in a radiant pink hue, swirling with living power that pulsed like flame.

It was made from an infinite number of stars, each one constantly exploding and being reborn, the weapon forever cycling through supernovas and newborn suns.

Tiny starbursts flared along its edges as sun magic pulsed through the core, making the blade feel alive radiant, celestial, unstoppable.

Star twirled it easily. "This is my sword from last year."

Demeter smirked. "My turn."

Her spellbook burst open beside her, radiating golden light as ancient runes spun from its pages.

"Manifest."

The spellbook flashed, then disappeared and a sacred spear formed in her hand, glowing like sunlight on polished stone.

It was The Golden Underworld.

Forged by the Thunder of Zeus, the spear crackled with divine authority raw sky power bound into weapon form. A black tie was wrapped around its base, symbolizing her people and their legacy.

Ancient Greek markings spiraled along the shaft, each rune glowing gold and black, alive with both heaven's lightning and underworld might.

"This one is mine," she said proudly. "The Golden Underworld. Also from last year."

Then she turned to the remaining two.

"You both still need swords. Hurry up, so we can start conquering."

Dallas jogged forward, eyes sparkling as he examined the field of weapons.

He reached for a massive, jagged blade that looked powerful…

He pulled.

It didn't move even an inch.

"Uh what?"

Demeter laughed. "That one's way too strong for you. Each sword has a different power level. You need one that matches your energy."

Dallas blinked, then kept searching.

Then he saw it.

A sword embedded in the ground black and neon green, sleek and mechanical, like a high-tech engine forged into a weapon.

His eyes lit up. "That one."

He ran to it and grabbed the handle.

It lifted with ease.

He swung it experimentally

VROOOOM.

Every swing let out a deep roar, like a cosmic engine revving through dimensional space.

Dallas grinned wildly. "Perfect!"

All eyes turned to Ava.

Star crossed her arms. "Alright. You're the last one. Pick a sword so we can get moving."

Ava didn't move.

"My sword is always with me," he said calmly. "The energy of chaos itself… is my weapon."

Still, he walked to the nearest blade in the ground and wrapped his fingers around the hilt.

"I'll use this one."

The instant he touched it

WHOOM.

Black energy surged from Ava's hand, crawling across the weapon like living shadow.

The sword shuddered… then completely transformed.

It became pure black, sleek and deadly, pulsing with chaotic power.

Star blinked. "Yeah… that works."

Demeter smirked. "Perfect. Now let's find the rulers of this planet and conquer."

Ava and his team launched into the sky, streaking like comets across the atmosphere. With their speed, it didn't take long to find civilization a vast kingdom surrounded by towering walls, banners of war fluttering in the wind, soldiers already mobilizing.

They were prepared.

This wasn't the first time students from the Dark Lord Academy had attacked.

They knew the drill. They knew the danger.

Some soldiers trembled in fear.

Others roared with defiance, gripping their weapons.

Massive armies charged forward, battle cries echoing across the battlefield

Rushing straight toward Ava and his team.

Ava hovered above the castle, voice booming across the sky.

"ALL WE WANT IS YOUR KING!" he declared. "Bow to the Dark Lord… and no one has to die!"

The castle gates burst open.

The king stepped out, golden armor blazing, power surging around him.

"We will NEVER surrender!" he roared. "ATTACK!"

Thousands of soldiers took to the air, blades and magic ripping through the sky.

Ava's team met them head-on.

Dallas unleashed green constructs shaped like engines and cannons.

Star danced through enemies with blazing pink light.

Demeter split the ground with a golden spear, toppling entire battalions.

Ava cut through them with effortless precision.

Within minutes, the entire country fell.

Soon after, the entire planet.

And then…

They moved to the next one.

Planet after planet. Battle after battle.

They faced incredible warriors, powerful sorcerers, monstrous beasts.

Every time they defeated a soldier, a point number flashed above their head, then vanished.

Every time they conquered a planet, another point shimmered into existence before fading.

Floating through space between worlds, Ava sighed.

"It feels like it's been almost a full day… How long are we going to be in this dungeon?"

Demeter stretched. "These dungeons can last weeks. But when we return to the Dark Lord Academy in the Fifth Dimension it will feel like we never even left."

Ava's eyes narrowed thoughtfully. "If that's the case… then I think we should split up. These planets aren't that strong. If each of us conquers a universe, we can regroup after."

The team exchanged glances.

Then nodded.

They split.

DALLAS

Dallas blasted through armies with green machine constructs, creating nuclear bombs, hacking their technology, and upgrading his sword with cybernetic power.

He rarely even needed magic.

He conquered an entire universe with pure strategy and intellect.

DEMETER

Demeter became a force of nature.

She raised mountains and swallowed empires with earthquakes.

She called down golden light and broke armies in a single strike.

She carved statues of herself across planets…

And the people called her a Goddess.

She conquered a universe with overwhelming power.

STAR

Star fought with elegance and mercy.

She sliced through elite warriors with her blade of pink flame.

She moved suns to shift climates and force surrender without casualties.

She avoided killing whenever possible…

Yet still conquered a universe through sheer will and cosmic-level magic.

AVA

Ava traveled silently.

Planet to planet. War to war.

He rarely used force.

He used Higher Dimensional Cards.

On one planet, an army of mages stood ready to fight.

Ava raised a golden card.

FWASH.

He absorbed the concept of time itself into the card.

The entire planet froze locked in zero time.

He then used his cards to trap the leaders, rewriting their memories and reshaping their narratives.

"Obey the Dark Lord," he commanded. "Surrender peacefully."

Most planets submitted instantly.

But some… had warriors powerful enough to move in zero time.

Those warriors attacked.

Ava smiled.

He drew his black sword.

And he defeated every one of them.

Those who resisted were sealed within his golden cards, trapped in rewritten realities where they bowed to him forever.

In the end…

Ava conquered a universe with terrifying precision.

REUNION

Three days passed inside the dungeon.

The team reconvened in deep space, floating before a shattered moon.

Each of them was glowing covered in point energy from the countless worlds they'd taken.

Dallas grinned. "So… how many did you guys conquer?"

Demeter smirked. "Enough."

Star rolled her shoulders. "We're unstoppable."

Ava looked at them…

And smiled slightly.

As they floated in space, discussing their victories, Ava suddenly paused.

His eyes narrowed.

"What… is that?"

He pointed into the distance.

Far ahead, suspended in the cosmic void, was a massive rainbow-like light, rippling with shifting colors and impossible patterns. It didn't look like a star but something far more alive.

Demeter's eyes widened.

"Oh wow… I haven't seen one of those in a while."

Dallas blinked. "What is it?"

Demeter folded her arms. "They're extremely dangerous. There are certain places in these dungeons hidden deeper inside the infinite multiverses. Higher realms. Higher planes of existence."

Star nodded seriously. "They're beyond normal planets or universes. Some of them are higher than 5-Dimensional reality, and the creatures inside… are terrifying."

Demeter added, "We could attempt to conquer it… but most who try die. Those places are where the Dark Lord keeps higher-level monsters to test top-tier students."

Star glanced at Ava. "They're insanely hard to conquer. Maybe we should focus on the other universes and keep building points instead."

Dallas was already shaking. "Y-Yeah, I agree! I don't want to mess with higher beings or higher monsters! Let's just stay alive!"

But Ava…

Smiled.

"No," he said calmly. "Let's go."

All three turned to him in shock.

He continued, voice firm. "If we defeat them… the points will be massive. And if we conquer such a high-level realm… we'll grow stronger. We'll evolve. We'll become higher beings ourselves."

Silence.

Then Demeter slowly nodded. "Well… you are the team leader."

Star exhaled, smirking slightly. "You never take the easy path, do you?"

Dallas groaned. "…I hate this. But fine."

They turned toward the rainbow phenomenon and flew forward.

As they approached, the light warped reality around them. Colors folded into dimensions. Space twisted like liquid.

It was not a star.

It was a higher plane of existence.

A superior universe layered above normal reality.

And as they crossed into it…

The laws of existence changed.

Time bent. Gravity hummed like music. The very air shimmered with demonic energy.

A sudden burst of wind cut through the air.

Another team appeared above them, floating high with arrogant smiles, their uniforms marked with the Dark Lord's crest.

One of them laughed loudly.

"This planet is ours."

They hovered there like predators, looking down on Ava's team.

Dallas gripped his engine-sword.

Star and Demeter raised their weapons.

Ava's eyes glowed faintly.
