*******

A sharp jolt tore through Gu Ziran's mind.

A tidal wave of information crashed into him so violently that his skull felt as if it were splitting open. His vision blurred. His knees buckled. A tremor ran down his limbs, like faint electricity dancing beneath his skin.

What… is happening?

Before he could steady himself, the endless white space he floated in shivered—thin cracks snaking across the surface of reality like breaking glass.

His breath hitched.

"W–Wait—!"

The world shattered.

Gravity, which had abandoned him until now, suddenly yanked him downward. A startled yelp escaped his mouth as he plunged into the abyss.

Gu Ziran squeezed his eyes shut, bracing for a skull-breaking impact.

…It never came.

Instead, his feet touched solid ground—softly, like he had stepped onto a cushion.

He blinked rapidly. "I… landed softly?"

A voice scoffed.

System 89: What did you think? That you'd crash on your butt or something?

Gu Ziran's jaw dropped. "Actually, yeah. In my previous transmigrations I used to—YAH! WHAT THE—WHAT THE HECK!? A TALKING—HAMSTER?!"

His eyes nearly popped out as he stared at the tiny round creature floating in front of him, chubby cheeks puffed and glossy eyes full of attitude.

The hamster rolled its eyes.

System 89: For an 'experienced agent,' you act like such a noob. Haven't you seen systems take animal forms to assist their hosts?

Gu Ziran blinked again. "Nope. My previous systems just sent me the plot, tossed me into the world, and vanished like deadbeat dads."

The hamster let out an offended squeak.

System 89: Well, I am sorry you got stuck with those good-for-nothing relics. But don't ever lump me in with them. I am a highly advanced system with artificial intelligence far superior to your old trash. You may refer to me as—Poko.

Now then… shall we begin the mission?

Gu Ziran pumped his fist, excitement lighting up his face. "Absolutely! Let's go!"

Poko squeaked approvingly, then paused.

Poko: But before that, darling, give me a quick recap of the plot. I need to ensure you truly understand the world and have a plan.

Gu Ziran straightened his posture, confidence returning.

"Well, the novel is an omegaverse story centered around Xin Lu—the dominant Omega protagonist and a poor scholarship student at KongXun Elite Academy. He keeps getting targeted by the blackened male lead, Shen Henlu."

He took a breath.

"The whole story becomes a cat-and-mouse chase until Shen Henlu grows extra possessive and obsessive over Xin Lu. He starts pursuing him seriously… which pisses off his fiancée, Ying Qi."

Poko's whiskers twitched, listening intently.

"And of course," Gu Ziran continued, "Ying Qi and his cronies gang up on Xin Lu. Then Shen Henlu retaliates… hard. In the end, Xin Lu and his cronies meet a tragic fate."

He exhaled, shoulders sagging.

"And, unfortunately, I'm one of those cronies. Am I wrong, Mr. Poko?"

Poko flashed a proud grin.

Poko: Absolutely not, darling. You're perfectly prepared.

A mechanical chime echoed through the space.

[ MISSION STARTS IN 3… 2… 1… ]

The world around him dissolved.

In the blink of an eye, Gu Ziran's surroundings shifted—

like a game loading its graphics one frame at a time.

The sterile white void vanished, replaced by towering buildings, bustling students, and the faint smell of ink and polished floors. People in matching academy uniforms walked past him in steady streams.

Gu Ziran looked down.

He was wearing the KongXun Elite Academy uniform too.

So I've entered the novel world…

Before he could take it all in, a sharp vibration buzzed against his thigh. His phone.

He fished it out, glancing at the caller ID.

Yu Hubin.

He answered just as the ringtone was about to die.

"Hello—"

"Brother Ziran, where are you? Come fast! Boss is about to flip and cause an uproar!" Yu Hubin's panicked voice rushed out—and the call cut.

Gu Ziran stared at the screen for half a second before sighing.

Based on the original host's memories, he already knew what this was about.

He dashed through the academy gates, weaving through the corridors with practiced familiarity. Just as he reached the four-way intersection, he spotted them:

At the far end stood Ying Qi, the "boss," looking ready to murder someone. His glare was so sharp it felt like it pierced straight through Gu Ziran.

Desperately holding him back was Yu Hubin, wild-eyed and pleading.

Gu Ziran froze. His brain raced for excuses about being late—until he realized:

Ying Qi wasn't glaring at him.

His eyes were focused on something behind Gu Ziran.

Gu Ziran slowly turned around… and his stomach dropped.

Shen Henlu had Xin Lu trapped against his chest—no, forced against him—while Xin Lu struggled, muscles taut and brows scrunched in clear discomfort.

Gu Ziran exhaled a long sigh. "Here we go…"

Turning back around, he walked toward Ying Qi. With every step, the temperature seemed to plummet. The cold murderous aura pouring off Ying Qi was enough to make even the sun retreat.

Yu Hubin waved desperately from behind him, mouthing, Help! Help me hold him back!

Gu Ziran shot him a look but still moved to restrain their volatile boss.

Unfortunately, Ying Qi's fury only escalated.

His breaths came out in sharp bursts. "Get your hands off me—!"

Seeing reason was hopeless, Gu Ziran made a snap decision.

"Hubin, grab his left arm! Let's move!"

Together, they dragged the furious Omega away from the hallway and toward the flower garden behind the academic block. As soon as they stepped inside—

CRASH!

Ying Qi kicked a flower pot worth millions.

It shattered on the tiles like cheap ceramic.

Gu Ziran almost fainted on the spot. His soul left his body for a moment.

Poko: Seriously, Host. He's rich-rich. He could buy the whole garden.

Relief washed over Gu Ziran instantly. Good. He wouldn't have to pay for that.

Ying Qi's chest heaved. His eyes burned like two blazing coals.

"THAT DAMN TEMPTRESS XIN LU IS TRYING TO SEDUCE MY SHEN HENLU! I'LL DESTROY HIM! AND YOU—YOU WILL HELP ME, GU ZIRAN!"

Gu Ziran stiffened. "M–Me?"

"Yes, YOU!" Ying Qi jabbed a finger at him, eyes feverish.

"You will seduce Xin Lu. Make him fall in love with you. Then break his heart. When he's drowning in depression,I kill him and I'll make it look like a suicide. Then Shen Henlu will finally see me—me! I'll use my dominant Omega pheromones to pull him in. We'll get married… have kids… live happily ever after…"

His expression softened into a dreamy haze as he imagined his future with Shen Henlu.

Gu Ziran, however, felt a stabbing pain in his chest.

He winced, clutching his shirt.

Poko: Host!? What's wrong?

"Y-Yeah… I'm fine…" he wheezed, face scrunched like he swallowed a lemon.

Poko: You shouldn't have any heart disease. Let me check with headquarters.

Gu Ziran gave him a telepathic thumbs-up while subtly trying not to collapse.

When the ache finally eased, he lifted his head. Neither Ying Qi nor Yu Hubin had noticed. Thank god.

Putting on a forced smile, Gu Ziran asked, "But boss… Xin Lu and I aren't even in the same class. We've never spoken. I don't think this plan is going to—"

Ying Qi lifted a hand sharply.

"Don't worry about that. Just focus on seducing Xin Lu."

And with that dramatic decree, he strutted away.

Yu Hubin hurried after him but paused long enough to whisper,

"Brother Ziran, never question Boss's plans. Just follow orders, okay?"

He gave Gu Ziran a thumbs-up before sprinting after Ying Qi.

Gu Ziran was left alone in the garden.

With a brewing headache.

And the worst mission objective imaginable.

.

.

Poko: Host, I checked thoroughly. The original body has no health issues. Gu Ziran is a perfectly healthy individual—180 cm tall, stable vitals, nothing abnormal.

Gu Ziran gave a mental nod, rubbing his chest lightly as he walked down the corridor.

Good. At least he wasn't dying on his first day.

Other than Ying Qi's spectacular meltdown, everything else had been painfully normal. With it being the start of the new term, the first half of the morning was taken up by teacher introductions and boring academy rules.

Now, like every student, Gu Ziran headed toward the notice board to check his class placement.

As he turned the corner, his steps faltered.

A massive crowd swarmed the board—students pushing, grumbling, squealing, and complaining about their placements. The air was thick with hormones and frustration.

Gu Ziran inhaled deeply.

Alright. Dive or die.

He squeezed himself into the crowd, elbowing his way through bodies. Hair brushed his shoulder, someone cursed behind him, another student bumped into his back. After struggling his way to the front, he scanned the lists rapidly.

He found Yu Hubin first.

Then Ying Qi—same class.

He searched for his own name next…

But his row was missing.

A bad premonition slithered into his chest.

Slowly, with dread crawling up his spine, he searched for Xin Lu's name.

And then—

There it was.

Class S2… Xin Lu.

Right below it—

Class S2… Gu Ziran.

His blood ran cold.

His face drained of color, a petrified expression freezing him in place. The noise of the crowd faded into a distant buzz. He felt his throat tighten, his heart dropping like a stone to the pit of his stomach.

So this was what Ying Qi meant.

But that wasn't the only reason his hands trembled.

With shaking fingers, he scrolled down the remaining list—

Class S2… Shen Henlu.

His vision darkened at the edges.

"Poko…" he whispered internally, horrified. "Why… why am I in their class?"

The system had no answer.

Stumbling back, Gu Ziran pushed out of the crowd, gasping for air as he reached the open hallway.

His mission had officially begun.

And it was already a nightmare.
