Chapter 125 - Chapter 125: Zombies Who Don’t Know the Meaning of Limits (9/10)

Night.

Wu Laosan had just returned from the casino, swaggering down the street with a few of his lackeys. He was in high spirits, heading off to spend the night with his sixth mistress.

But as they passed through a dimly lit alley, a shadowy figure suddenly appeared ahead of them.

"Who's there?"

Wu Laosan was instantly alert and barked a warning.

"Delivery's here," came a voice from the darkness.

Wu Laosan was about to ask what the hell kind of courier service delivered at night, but before he could react, a heavy blow struck the back of his head. He collapsed to the ground like a sack of potatoes.

The same fate met all his henchmen—taken out in an instant.

Once their entire group had been neutralized, a black brick that had been hovering in the air lost its balance and dropped to the ground with a thud.

The figure stepped out from the shadows.

Bathed in moonlight, he was revealed to be a young man—well-built, graceful, and brimming with quiet menace.

"Five…" he murmured.

The man—Fenric—walked up to the unconscious gang, tied them all together with a thick rope, and slung them over his shoulder like a delivery package.

Five people in total.

Even if each one weighed 150 kilograms, that was still 750 kilograms altogether.

But...

Fenric carried them effortlessly with just one arm.

Soon, he arrived at the cave where he had hidden the zombies.

Noticing that the massive boulder blocking the entrance remained undisturbed, Fenric nodded with satisfaction.

He had carved a discreet mark into it—if anyone had tampered with the stone, he'd know instantly.

Then again, maybe he was overthinking.

After all, who could even move a boulder weighing over a thousand pounds?

Removing the rock, Fenric slipped into the cave and dumped the five unconscious men onto the ground. He then dug up Old Man Ren, unchained him, and pointed at the pile of bodies.

"Here's your dinner. Eat."

Fenric had done his homework—Wu Laosan and his crew were complete scum. Feeding them to zombies wasn't just practical, it was justice.

However, the zombies still showed fear. Even after being freed, it didn't move.

Smack!

Fenric slapped its head, startling it.

With his strength, even a casual slap could shatter bone.

"I said, drink the blood. You understand me?"

The zombie stared at him blankly, clearly not following.

Fenric sighed and drew his black blade—Shusui. With a swift motion, he nicked Wu Laosan's neck, allowing blood to trickle out.

The scent of blood immediately stirred something in Old Man Ren. His face twisted with hunger—but he still hesitated.

The psychological trauma Fenric had inflicted was clearly immense. Even now, the zombie didn't dare to act recklessly.

Fenric grunted in annoyance and shoved Wu Laosan's limp body directly into Old Man Ren's arms.

Only then did the zombie snap, sinking its fangs into Wu Laosan's neck.

"Aaaagh!"

Wu Laosan jolted awake, screaming in agony. His eyes widened in horror before rolling back as he passed out again.

Zombies feed fast. In mere moments, the blood was drained completely.

"You're welcome. Four more to go—have at it."

Fenric gestured toward the remaining men.

He had noticed two of them were faking unconsciousness.

Pretenders, huh? Then sleep... forever.

Now understanding what Fenric wanted, Old Man Ren lunged at the other four bodies.

"Aaagh!!"

"No, please! Help! Someone—!"

Ten minutes later...

All five had been completely drained.

It was obvious that after consuming that much blood, something in Old Man Ren had changed.

Her body darkened, skin hardening into a tougher shell. His limbs moved more naturally now, and he walked like a normal person—not with the erratic jumps typical of zombies. Intelligence flickered in his eyes.

He had evolved.

What Fenric didn't expect was the look he gave him afterward—cold, feral, almost as if he was considering turning on him.

His expression darkened.

"Oh? Got a little boost and now you're getting cocky?"

His tone was ice-cold.

"You dare look at me like that?"

Fenric cracked his knuckles.

"Let me remind you with my fists—your master will always be your master."

OOOOWWWWW!!!

A monstrous howl echoed throughout the cave.

Ten minutes later...

Old Man Ren lay motionless on the ground, looking like a beaten dog.

Now he was staring at Fenric again—only this time, with pure terror.

"Haven't even warmed up, and you're already done?" Fenric scoffed.

"And you dared bare your teeth at me?"

Grumbling, he re-chained him and tossed him back into the pit.

He didn't resist at all.

Once he was buried, Fenric paid no more attention to the five corpses.

This cave was well-hidden. As long as he covered it with the boulder again, even if the others turned into zombies, they wouldn't be able to escape.

From what he remembered, it took a while for someone to become a full zombie after being bitten.

So, he left and resealed the cave, planning to return the next night.

The Following Night

Fenric arrived at the cave on schedule.

As soon as he moved the boulder aside and stepped in, five little figures leapt at him, teeth bared and claws extended.

Fenric's eyes lit up.

He drew Shusui and slashed the first one cleanly in two—head to waist.

"You killed a zombie (Beginner). Gained 100 points!"

Hearing the system prompt, Fenric burst into laughter.

"It works!"

Without hesitation, he cut down the remaining four beginner-level zombies.

Against Fenric's raw power and Shusui's legendary edge, these so-called high-defense zombies were no different from regular humans.

Unless a high-level zombie showed up—maybe a Level 4—none of them could even challenge him now.

All five were killed.

Fenric earned another 500 points.

Even better, his plan had proven viable.

He could already see a flood of points coming his way.

As for whether zombies were immortal? Nonsense.

Split one from head to toe, and it still dies!

In the original story, Master Nine had countless methods to kill zombies. Immortality was just a myth.

In the Days That Followed...

The townspeople of Renjia began noticing something strange.

All the local thugs and bullies—the ones who'd been making life miserable—had suddenly vanished.

Literally gone. As if they'd never existed.

The mysterious disappearances quickly attracted attention—even from Master Nine himself...
