Chapter 61 - The Crimson Moon Crisis (The Cause)

Thirty minutes earlier.

Ying Zheng was, as usual, reviewing official documents in the Xianyang Palace.

After a long while, Ying Zheng put down his brush and stretched.

"Phew~, I didn't realize reviewing memorials was so tiring! I wonder if Meng Tian can develop a better pen. This brush is still not as convenient as a ballpoint pen!"

Ying Zheng complained slightly. He had bought a ballpoint pen from the group's shop to try, and it was much better to use than a brush, not to mention it took up less space.

"Speaking of which, the moonlight seems exceptionally red today. Is it a total lunar eclipse?"

Peeking through a crack, Ying Zheng looked at the reddish moonlight and muttered to himself in confusion.

"Your Majesty! This is bad!" Wang Jian suddenly rushed in.

Only after reaching Ying Zheng's side did Wang Jian stop, gasping for breath as he said, "Your Majesty... the... the sky... outside... has turned red!"

"The sky outside has turned red! Even the moon is the color of blood!"

Hearing Wang Jian's words, Ying Zheng finally realized this was no total lunar eclipse. After all, a lunar eclipse only turned the moon red; it wouldn't affect the sky at all!

Realizing the situation might be serious, Ying Zheng immediately got up and hurried outside the main hall.

"Th-th-this... what's happening?"

Arriving outside the hall and seeing the blood-colored sky, Ying Zheng's face turned pale with shock.

The night sky, once clear enough to see countless stars, now showed not a single one. The entire sky was a blood-like crimson, and the moon looked as if it had been soaked in a pool of blood, a red beyond any normal description.

At this moment, Ying Zheng recalled what Lin Tian had said in the chat group: the worlds of those who could enter this chat group would not be peaceful. It seemed his world was truly not an ordinary one.

Thinking of this, Ying Zheng immediately took a picture of the blood moon and sent it to the chat group.

...

Just as he was chatting with the people in the group, a massive body suddenly appeared in the sky, roaring as it charged towards him.

At this sight, Ying Zheng's pupils shrank, and he quickly dodged to the side.

The enormous mountain of flesh crashed to the ground, kicking up a huge cloud of dust.

Ying Zheng had narrowly dodged the attack, the feeling of surviving a disaster flooding his brain.

Looking at the massive monster, Ying Zheng immediately used a shadow clone, and two other Ying Zhengs appeared on either side of him.

Then, the three began to attack separately. The one on the left used Fire Release, the one in the middle unleashed a spinning gust of wind, and the one on the right spread his hands, creating three shields around each of them.

The wind met the fire, instantly intensifying the blaze. The entire mountain of flesh was enveloped in the fiery tornado.

An extremely piercing shriek rang out as the fleshy body fell to the ground and began to roll around frantically.

Seeing that this move was effective against the monster, Ying Zheng began to increase his energy output while ordering the stunned Wang Jian to act.

Distribute all the MC wooden swords from the national treasury to the army and have them protect the people in the city. He was certain that the city was now filled with cries of agony.

Upon hearing Ying Zheng's command, Wang Jian immediately went to arrange the troops. The casualties had to be kept to a minimum!

Just then, Ying Zheng suddenly noticed that the mountain of flesh had gradually stopped rolling and was even standing up amidst the fire tornado.

Ying Zheng's pupils contracted violently. This monster's adaptability was terrifyingly strong!

Gritting his teeth, Ying Zheng created two more clones, which caused his face to turn pale.

Of the two new clones, one began to unleash Lightning Release, while the other took Ying Zheng's place, continuing to use the wind element.

Ying Zheng himself began to regulate his breathing and took out a fine iron sword.

When the fleshy monster fell and started rolling again, the real Ying Zheng quickly rushed forward. With a single swing of his sword, he sliced the entire mountain of flesh in two.

Ying Zheng panted heavily. The battle had consumed too much of his stamina. He didn't even dare to dismiss his shadow clones now, or the exhaustion would instantly overwhelm him.

And in that brief moment of relaxation, a pitch-black creature appeared behind him. One of the clones saw this and was about to shout a warning, but it was too late.

"Guchi~"

The real Ying Zheng's chest was pierced by the black figure's fist.

"Waah~!"

Ying Zheng violently spat out a mouthful of blood, looking down at the fist in his chest in disbelief.

The black figure lifted Ying Zheng up and then casually tossed him aside like a rag.

Ying Zheng's clones vanished one after another, and he himself was thrown against the palace wall with a dull thud.

The impact caused Ying Zheng to spit out another mouthful of blood.

'Am I... going to die?'

Ying Zheng's consciousness began to fade, but a strong will to live made him unwilling to die just like that!

With great difficulty, Ying Zheng took a Golden Apple from his pocket and slowly moved it to his mouth.

As soon as the Golden Apple entered his mouth, it turned into pure energy and began to repair his ravaged body. Ying Zheng's consciousness gradually returned.

In just a few breaths, Ying Zheng was fully recovered.

Seeing this, the black figure, which had been about to leave, stopped in its tracks. Its gaze fell upon the half-eaten Golden Apple in Ying Zheng's hand.

"Hehehehe, you want it?"

Seeing the black figure's gaze, Ying Zheng sneered.

Then, he ate the entire Golden Apple, picked up his iron sword, and taunted the black figure while retreating into the main hall. Behind his throne, there was an MC shield.

The chat group had already issued a mission. He just had to hold on for ten minutes, and reinforcements would arrive!

But the problem was...

Ying Zheng swung his sword at the black figure, which had teleported toward him, but it was easily dodged.

'How am I going to survive these ten minutes?'
