Chapter 51 - Branch Lines Complete

The group wandered around in the Dark Forest and finally saw a place that looked like an altar.

Lin Tian took out the Hydra trophy he had just obtained and placed it on the pedestal. The red-patterned seal in the middle dissipated at once.

Lin Tian broke the Hydra trophy and jumped directly through the opening.

Seeing this, the four girls also followed him down.

After some searching, the five of them successfully arrived in a room enclosed by iron bars. The support pillars on both sides were even decorated with obsidian. It had to be said that the Knight Phantom certainly had some style.

However...

Seeing the six mounds inside, the five of them felt an indescribable sense of strangeness. Why were there graves? It felt like the coolness factor had dropped a bit.

Lin Tian walked into the tomb chamber. The next moment, six creatures in dark green armor, holding swords, pickaxes, and axes, appeared inside, all in a floating state.

To be more precise, it was more like the armor itself was flying, because there was no one inside the armor.

Kanao shot an arrow at one of them, but it had no effect at all.

"Don't be in a hurry to attack. These Phantom Knights can't be hit right now. You can only attack them when a creature appears inside the armor."

"For now, everyone, use your shields to block their attacks."

As he spoke, Lin Tian held his shield in front of him, blocking the Phantom Knights' projectiles while searching for which one would reveal its true form.

Unfortunately, no matter how he looked, all six Phantom Knights were in an empty state.

Just then, a Phantom Knight that had flown to his side directly revealed its true form and slashed at him.

"Just in time!" Lin Tian didn't defend. He held the Scepter of Vampirism in his left hand and the Scepter of Twilight in his right, attacking with both.

How could the young Phantom Knight know how sinister people's hearts were? It was directly drained of its last drop... of blood by Lin Tian.

After successfully taking out one Phantom Knight, the other four girls saw his maneuver and also swapped the swords in their right hands for Scepters of Twilight.

Before long, the five of them had successfully drained all six Phantom Knights using this novel (despicable) method.

After finishing off the six Phantom Knights, Lin Tian also began to check the loot.

The Phantom Knights were different from other bosses; their drops were all placed in chests.

Lin Tian: 'The most polite boss. Even after dying, he organizes everything neatly in chests for us to see. A big thumbs up! Other bosses need to learn from the Phantom Knight.'

The drops this time were all equipment and weapons, as well as a Phantom Knight trophy, which was basically its 3D helmet.

This equipment and these weapons were also quite good. After all, they were all enchanted. The pickaxe was even an Efficiency III one, which was decent.

.....

The five of them returned to the entrance where they had come down.

"Next up is the last branch boss—the Ur-Ghast."

Lin Tian's tone was a little serious as he spoke.

Hearing the word "Ghast," the four girls also shuddered. They still remembered the scene of their first encounter with a Ghast. It could be said to be the most terrifying creature in this world.

(Of course, this was without having seen a Guardian or an Elder Guardian. After all, the protagonist hadn't taken them to the sea yet, nor had he looked for an ocean monument.)

But now they could look directly at a Ghast. After all, they had seen them too many times and had become numb.

Now, unless a Ghast appeared right in their face with a zero-frame startup, they felt nothing at all.

Seeing the four girls' expressions, Lin Tian knew they didn't care much. "Don't underestimate the Ur-Ghast. It's not something that those ordinary, weakling Ghasts can compare to!"

Next, Lin Tian explained in detail the abilities of the Ur-Ghast and the consequences that other adverse factors could cause.

After hearing his words, the four girls also knew that they had indeed underestimated the Ur-Ghast. Just its ability to summon carminite ghastlings to heal itself was already disgusting, and the castle was made of wood! If they accidentally missed a step and fell... that would not be funny!

But the most important thing right now was to find the Dark Tower first.

The five of them once again went deeper inside. The progression of the three branches was actually quite similar. It was a pattern of one boss on the outskirts and one boss in the inner circle.

After walking for a little while, Kanao saw a wall with a red pattern. She immediately called out to the other four who were still walking deeper.

"Everyone, I think I see it."

Hearing her, the four stopped and looked in the direction she was pointing. There was indeed a wall with a red pattern, and it looked very ethereal.

"That's right, that's it!" The moment he saw the red-patterned wall, Lin Tian recognized it. It was indeed the entrance to the Dark Tower.

Having confirmed their destination, the five of them also began to head towards the Dark Tower.

.....

"Brother Lin Tian, how much longer? How come we're still not there?" Aoi Kanzaki complained.

They had already been walking for nearly an hour and just couldn't find the way up.

"Um... it seems we're lost. And the Dark Tower seems... not to have any stairs or anything to go up."

The moment Lin Tian's words fell, he was immediately met with the glaring gazes of the four girls.

"You didn't say so earlier!!" they all shouted.

In the end, the five of them still chose to pillar up to the highest point and dug open the ceiling.

Looking at the surrounding scenery, Lin Tian was also a little silent, because they were in a tower that was off-center.

Lin Tian said nothing, and the four girls said nothing either. They all just continued to pillar up with blocks. If any carminite ghastling got in their way, they would just shoot it down!

Finally! The five of them finally arrived at the top of the Dark Tower.

Before they could get happy, a Ghast that was at least seven or eight times the size of the small ghastlings they had seen just now appeared right in their line of sight, plastered to their faces.

Seeing such a thing up close, all five of them were a little dazed. Not only was this Ur-Ghast much larger than the normal ones, but it also had two more tentacles, and its whole body was covered in strange red patterns.

Aoi Kanzaki's eyes rolled back, and she fainted directly on the ground. Even the others, who had seen this kind of thing many times, were stunned by the sudden jump scare.

(You can imagine a single eye larger than a door suddenly appearing in front of you, even touching your body.)

(I really don't believe anyone wouldn't be afraid of this kind of close-up encounter, a zero-distance one at that, unless they were born without fear.)

Lin Tian bit down hard on his tongue. The intense pain made him sober up, and a trace of blood trickled from the corner of his mouth.

He had almost bitten his own tongue off.

Seeing the Ur-Ghast that had already flown up into the sky, and the three girls who were still in a daze, he immediately shouted to wake them up, at the same time pinching Aoi's philtrum point. This was not the time to be unconscious! If she was sent flying by one of the Ghast's fireballs, the probability of falling was almost 99%.

The awakened Aoi had a look of terror on her face and was panting heavily. But then she noticed that the Ur-Ghast had already flown into the sky, and only then did she breathe a sigh of relief.

"Why... summoning... this thing... makes it appear right in front of us?!"

Shinobu's voice trembled a little, but she was trying hard to adapt. She had been completely stunned by the Ur-Ghast's sudden appearance. If this thing had been in the air from the beginning, she might not have been so scared, because it was just a bit bigger and actually looked similar to the small ghastlings they had just encountered.

At this moment, the Ur-Ghast had already started to spit fireballs, and the surroundings were on fire.

"Time is a little tight, I'll make it quick. There are four Ghast Traps in the four rooms around us. I need you to bring them here. Don't ask about their use for now. I'll cover you. Hurry!"

Hearing his words, the four girls didn't ask any questions and split up to head for the four rooms. Lin Tian, meanwhile, was shooting down the small ghastlings that were trying to get close to them.

A few minutes later, the four girls all came back and handed the four Ghast Traps to him.

He placed the four traps together and connected them with redstone.

At this point, the Ur-Ghast had already started to summon carminite ghastlings.

Seeing this, a smile appeared on Lin Tian's face. "So eager to die?"

He saw that the small ghastlings were all drawn to the Ghast Traps. He and the four girls began to kill them. At the same time, a stream of blood-red energy began to flow into the four traps.

By the time all the small ghastlings were killed, the four traps had also gradually lit up with a red light from their original dim state, and black smoke was rising from them.

Lin Tian signaled for the four girls to get ready. He connected two pressure plates to the redstone. Seeing the Ur-Ghast fly above the traps, he stepped directly on the pressure plates.

The Ur-Ghast was instantly pulled in by the four traps. At the same time, a large amount of blood-red energy began to surge out of the traps and rush towards the Ur-Ghast. The Ur-Ghast began to scream frantically.

Lin Tian, meanwhile, took out his Netherite sword and began to attack. The Ur-Ghast's health bar began to drop rapidly, and before long, it was successfully killed by him.

The Ur-Ghast, is dead!

With that, all three branch bosses of the Twilight Forest were dead!
